I zone out all the time and didn't even realise I was dragging brushes through my hair like I meant to harm it, until during a girls night getting ready I turned to witness every set of eyes in the room staring in my direction filled with dread. I've since changed my ways.

My daughter has VERY curly hair, when I tell you the anxiety I got from hearing that noise… I mean I had to go to a hairstylist to learn how to take care of her hair because it’s almost a 3C. I can’t imagine how that felt to someone who has 4 anything. DON’T DO IT!

On the first video I could hear her scalp and hair cuticle screaming as she whipped that brush through her hair. It literally made me wince and had to fast-forward a bit. :)

When that first girl started brushing her hair, I almost broke my neck from the automatic reaction my body had! My hair is so slick it won't hold a tangle very long (not complaining) and even I start at the bottom and work my way up. Be kind to your hair girl!

Fun story: I bleached my hair off back in November, my hair was all the way down to my waist and it was falling out at my scalp and I laid in bed crying about it while binge watching brad reacting to other people that also messed up their hair 🤣🤣🙈💀

I feel like, while I agree fully.... I'd be one of those people that still fails really badly attempting something like that myself.... >.> So I just WON'T try that myself... I will only box dye myself (since it's simple enough) and leave bleaching or lightening my hair to a salon professional if I ever decide to lighten my hair.

@hoiy vinosa red?? You can’t to go blonde from dying your hair red..? That will only give you pastel pink hair once it fades or try to bleach it out. Where did you learn that lesson?? If you want your hair to be anything close to blonde after only bleaching once (depending on the state of the colour) you use purple pigments 🤦🏼‍♀️

As someone dealing with alopecia, in which my hair falls out through no fault of my own, I wish I could remind people like the girl yanking her hair post bleach to not take your hair for granted! You just never know. Be gentle!

I understand on a different level. I have trichotillomania and have gotten better but been pulling my hair out since age 9, I'm 41 now. And after having my 2nd daughter in 2005 I lost a lot of hair that never seemed to want to come back. Plus I've always shed like mad. I know it's not the same as what you've gone through, it does suck though how aware I have to be of my actions.

When she started brushing her hair like that after it was dyed and it was all wet, I actually cried out loud "NOOOOOOO!!!!!!" like she could actually hear me. Why would someone do that?

That hairbrushing gave me an anxiety attack. She didn't start at the ends, she brushed wet hair way too hard and she used a regular paddle brush🥴

I have been watching your videos every night for the past three. I'm officially OBSESSED! Last November, a hairdresser fried my hair with Matrix OptiSmooth. I'm talking the entire crown broken pretty much to the scalp. It's only JUST gotten to the point where it will lay flat when I iron it. Watching these videos makes me feel better about my own awful experience!

I just don’t get it. There is ENDLESS free education on KZread telling people NOT to do these things. But people are always like “f*ck it ima do whatever the heck I want.” That first girl brushing her hair is gona haunt my thoughts til the day I die. You actually helped save my hair from myself. I don't bleach my hair, but you recommended a de-tangling brush a couple of years ago so I bought a really decent one, and wow! No more pain. Gently brush your hair!!! Gently, you said!

That had me panicking from the scraping hair raking at the start to the no-technique lightening at the end. That video gave me all the feels with anxiety! As a side note though, Brad's tomagotchi necklace is giving me LIFE!! I love you legend, don't ever change! 😂❤

Brad's horror at the hair clumps is highly amusing to me as a sufferer of chronic telogen effluvium. I lose that much with every shower. Its been almost 5 years now of the extreme shedding.

I wish I knew how people with such long, beautiful hair can rip brushes through it like they're trying to get it to tell them government secrets, but no matter how gentle I am with my hair it refuses to grow past my chest.

Everyone has their natural stopping lengths. I know one girl whose hair doesn't grow past her chin. She has to get extensions. Mine, well, actually I thought it stopped at my waist. It grows super fast and in one year it would grow from my chin to my waist. But it's been a few years since I cut my hair and it's almost to my knees now.

Has it had any chemical treatments? Do you use any heat to style your hair? Do you have hard water in your house? When is the last time you had a trim? Maybe your split ends are so bad that you have to get a haircut to get some fresh ends in your hair. If your hair is supposed to naturally stop growing at your chin, then you would be able to look at your ends and see each individual hair gradually taper off to a point, and feel soft and not damaged. If the ends have breaks or lots of splits and feel very rough, you know that it's actually just damage.

I'm afraid it really is genetics. Everyone's hair follicles have a natural life span, and when the follicle has been around that length of time, it falls out naturally. This woman's follicles' lifespan is longer than most people's - I would say most people's hair won't grow longer than their chest, myself included. She also has relatively thick hair, so slightly more coming out with a rough brush isn't going to make a noticeable difference for her. You can get extensions if you want longer hair, but after a certain length, I don't think longer hair adds much to a person's look anyway.

Every time I consider dying my hair without sectioning it because I’m lazy, I hear Brad saying “it actually takes longer when you don’t section your hair” lol

As someone who gets their roots bleached every 5 weeks, watching her grab the bleach by the GLOB with her hands, and then mix it together .... I DIED. She had no idea what she was doing. And then... she brushed like her life is ending. OMG I AM DEAD.

Brad I did it. I bought the bucket of bleach powder. I used 30v. I bleached my entire head which had multiple semipermanent colours in it. I now have platinum hair that is not dead! Thank you 🙏🏽

@@elizabethann6943 I was super scared, but then found it so fun, and have been bleaching my own hair for a bit now. I definitely recommend a strand test and like Brad says use a higher volume developer. Then you can see how much bleach your hair can take, and time how long for the best results.

I'm wincing at these chaotic techniques. I used to change my hair colour every week and completely ruined it in the process, but I've learned so much from watching Brad's videos. I also saw far too many bleach fails, so for the first time in 22 years, I've let my virgin hair grow out fully! No more dead straw that won't dry and snaps off constantly. Anytime I feel the urge to bleach or colour it again, I just watch Brad reacting to bleach fails. Works every time! 😂

Haha I've been letting my hair grow out naturally and there's finally no bleached bits to it and watching Brad just makes me wanna fuck it up lol. I miss the colors but I don't miss my hair feeling like ass lol

for the first video, i’ve actually used that bleach kit. always do a test strand. it worked for me, but WOULD NOT recommend if you plan to bleach that same hair (non virgin hair) again. hypocritical, but- ALWAYS get your hair bleached at the salon.

Your reaction when she started brushing her hair out TOOK ME. I was shaking from laughing while covering my mouth at work!

Girl, I lose 20 times the amount she does every time I do my hair, and I still look like I have a bush in there.

I love Brad’s facial expressions SO much. The pure agony. That’s a true hairdresser thinking about how much time and work it will take to fix this mess😂😂

i did research on blonding kits prior to bleaching my hair as a setup for artificial coloring. the avg volume developer in these kits ranges from 20-25 volumes because they all assume you are leveling up natural blonde hair at the onset. so if you have dark hair of any kind under the natural blonde level you'll need to do several rounds of the box bleach kit. the exceptions are the brands that state the developer volume number. like Brad keeps saying it's cheaper to just buy the bleach and developer on its own for custom mixing to make sure you have enough product and the correct volume developer. if you're intimidated at mixing ratios go online and find conversions charts for ounces and tablespoons/teaspoons.

@@AlexandraVioletta 9% is equal to 30 volume. As in many things, the metric used in the U.S. is different than the European one.

I think the first girl has beautiful hair. The shade is perfect. She should’ve just done her roots. The way she brushes her hair makes me cringe though. I’m so tender headed i’d have the worst headache if I brushed like that.

Poor Brad has to repeat the same shit and there’s still people in this world that don’t learn 😂

Just seen this video for the first time and I loVe loVE LOVE that sweater Brad!

Watching the 1st one brush her hair made my skin crawl and hurt my soul. 😂 OUCH CHIHUAHA!

I learned so much from Brad already but decided to go to a saloon to get my hair bleached because I knew there was no way I could do it better than a professional. It was actually very useful to know that everything was done correctly (he used foils, left the roots at the end, etc). So this is extremely helpful even if you are not attempting to do this at home

Ye watching Brads videos made me understand what hairdressers (at least the good and trained ones) do to my hair. Which I love! I love sitting there and realising "ah brad mondo said this! Nice!"

Oh my god the way that girl was brushing her hair!! And as soon as she started brushing it after bleaching, my heart started racing, I audibly gasped, and I had to put my hands over my face and pause this video to make this comment 😂

I literally just wanna be friends with Brad. He just seems like such a down to earth, hilarious and overall wonderful human being! We all need friends like Brad Mondo.

I bleached my hair platinum for 3 years, and even though I went to a hairdresser to have it done it still did lasting damage to my scalp. It's been 4 years since I last had any chemical process done or even heat styled my hair and it was still dry and breaking off. It wasn't until I started forking over the $ for professional hair products and really focused on my scalp health that I finally started noticing an improvement. I'm only saying this as a cautionary tale because yeah, it may only be hair, but bleach can burn the crap out of your scalp soooo easily and it's impossible to regrow hair through gross oozing scabs

Tbh that’s part of why I tend to not even do all over bleach applications often as a stylist just due to the damage it can cause to the skin alone regardless of skill glad to hear it’s getting better🩷

Stoned Pony is a Good Dye Young semi-perm dye from Hayley William's dye line. I'd say it's just as great as your dye! It's my all time favorite semi-permanate dye cause I'm biased and I love my girl, but it's also just a incredibly solid semi-perm dye in general. So glad to see it show up in a Brad Mondo video :)

I will watch Brad for an Eternity of him only saying, “Wait, what?” When things go very bad and turn out amazing 🤩
