Shaugh Prior ringing @ Bridestowe

Bridestowe, Devon, 6 bells, Tenor: 13-0-15 in F. Probably Devon's finest sounding six, complete Taylor set of 1828 with the 3rd recast by them in 1936 when they rehung them, listen to the Tenor!!

I Love the sound of these bells,, they produce a lovely 'drone'' when they're going right. As I understand it, the treble, 2nd & 3rd are very hard to hear if you are ringing the aforementioned bells unless you're ringing the 4th, 5th or tenor, in which case those ringers can hear the front 3 bells. As I am led to believe, this was due to the fact that volunteers cleaned the Belfry, including numerous bales of Hay that covered the Belfry floor. However, unbeknown to them, the hay bales were serving a purpose; acting as a sort of 'DIY' Sound proofing system, hence why the drone drowns out the front 3 bells (if you're directly underneath, ringing them). Ryan, was this lovely peal of yours pre/post removal of sound proofing just out of curiosity?
