It wouldn't be safe to ring like that. Also the ~46cwt bourdon at Tong in Shropshire is a full circle bourdon.

No if you was to ring it like this all the time you’d need to make the sally higher you can’t get a sally much bigger than that!

A Bourdon doesn't stand like normal bells and are usually only swung half way up.

Watching you let the rope slip through your hand I thought you had defected to Devon call change ringing. lOL
