Thank you so much. 😊 yes I’m planning a video a week for the time being. Answering questions and just letting everyone tag along with me.

Took me a minute to realize that the opening segment is sped up. I thought you were just flying down the highway!

Hahaha. Ya know that would be impressive in more ways than one. I drive a 1986 Nissan pickup with a 4cylinder engine. If you’re familiar with that specific truck, they are slow! I know it’s made a few people giggle. So I keep. 😊

Why do you sharpen that direction vs against the belt? I use the same thing but I only go that direction with the leather belt.

Personal preference. For me I would much rather the knife fly away from me. In the worst case, as opposed to it possibly flying back towards me and possibly hitting myself. Probably not a huge thing to worry about but just puts my mind at ease.

What kind of belts and grits do you use?

For course grits up to 120 I’ve been using the belts by Diablo. Very easy to source. Then for the finer grits I got a variety pack from Amazon. Just a generic aluminum oxide set ranging from 220 to 1000. After that it’s a leather belt from red label abrasives to strop.

Everything makes noise except you. We hear bumping and banging but VERY low audio.

Thanks for the heads up. I try to adjust the audio down for the sharpener since it’s pretty loud. I’ll probably just do voiceover when I talk and sharpen, so I don’t blow everyone eardrums out.

I also talk as I work a lot too. Just processing out loud.
