Shah Jahan, the Ruler of the World | 1627CE - 1658CE | Al Muqaddimah
The Empire of the Mughals had passed from the great Emperor Akbar to his son, Jahangir. Jahangir was a rather hands-off emperor and left governing in the hands of his beloved wife, Nur Jahan. However, he was followed by the emperor who is, probably, the most iconic of the Mughal Emperors. Shahanshah Shahab ud-Din Muhammad Shah Jahan, the King of the World.

5:16 I am sure there was religious aspect as well. It is apparent that modern people prefer political or secular reason for rulers' action which I find disingenuous. People of the past were very religious so I am certain the destruction of temples were as much religious as it was political.
@ghazalabibi4483

Here's a question: What would a person gain from playing up these rivalries for nothing? Whether you agree or not, religion has always been a political ideology. It's literal purpose was to give a clear goal to the people and establishing a method to reaching a point. Why would there be rivalries when the two, supposed, posing rivalries were on common ground and were living in harmony? It's not like shah Jahan was a very Muslim man, as the video shows. Every time when religion was tarnished or belittled, it served a greater political purpose. Even Aurangzeb, who's infamous for oppressing the minorities, did so to earn the support of the Muslims by presenting with an 'us vs them' narrative.

I'm curious, you mentioned in the video that Shah Jahan tore down Jujhar Singh's temple as a political move. He also tore down Gurudwaras in Lahore and a Church belonging to the Portuguese. If these were all political wouldn't he have done the same to Mosques of Muslim rulers he was fighting?

It is kinda sorta political mixed with religious sentiments because how do you hurt the Hindus or any other religious group who held power the most ? 5:20 NO. This did not happen all over India. Hindu kings of old never destroyed temples to delegitimise their foes. Destroying temples meant that they would instantly forfeit their status as a Dharma Sevak. There is a reason why Hindus committed Jauhar only when fighting against mlecchas and not other Hindus. Stop fabricating nonsense!

Except you are wrong. It happened all the times, all over India. The temples were destroyed, but a few idols were carried over to their kingdom to retain status as Dhrmasevak.

@@stormshadow5283 But the Brahmanists did destroy Buddhists shrines and Jain sites to emphasize their dominantion. But when they became rulers then patronized. Aurangzeb did destroy temples for religious reasons. But I don't think other Mughal ruler except babar did it for the same... But nonetheless, history is an amazing thing to study but should view from the appropriate time frame, not from modern lenses. U can choose to only look at one side, but unless u r a trained historian, chances are u r not qualified to make such conclusions. Otherwise point to sources from qualified historians.

John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
