Hi there! Thanks! They are awesome pickups. I was getting ready to sell my PRS SE Torero at the time, so I swapped out the P-Rails for a Dimarzio Crunch Lab and Liquifire (John Petrucci set) since that guitar seems to be made more to suit metal music. While I think that the Dimarzio set is great, I wish I still had the P-rails in one of my guitars. They are extremely versatile and sound great! Are you thinking of getting the triple shots as well? Or will you just use some exra switches in your jazzmaster to get all of the rail, P-90, and humbucking options?

@@guidrummer1 I am not a guitar builder myself, but a friend of mine works for a small boutique guitar brand called Delago and he will help to put it together. I think the Triple Shots sound like an easy and convenient way to get all the tones, don´t know much about wiring. I prefer the Rail and the P90 tones, but it would not be bad to have to the humbucking options in case I decide to play some heavier distorted stuff. The Jazzmaster style is more for the looks, I really love the Jazzmaster design and I want a guitar which is versatile with its sound options and which looks good

@@JoekerCovers Understood. The p-rails with the triple shots were only the second guitar wiring job that I had ever done myself. The directions were easy to follow, but my lack of soldering skills did make it rather difficult. Jazzmasters are great-looking guitars indeed! It will be very versatile with the p-rails and appropriate switching options. I will say that the parallel humbucking option was quite nice for getting single-coil-like tones without the 60-cycle hum. The series humbucking was probably my least favorite (even though it had the most gain). Good luck with your project. You should upload a demo of the guitar once it is finished. I would love to see it!

If you’d like to hear the P-Rails bridge pickup in P90 mode, in a hard edged rock ‘n roll setting, check it out here kzread.info/dash/bejne/k3atlbiupsaqic4.html The P-Rails pickup is in the right speaker. On the left is a Gibson P94T.

Thanks for some more demo material in a band format, Hector. The P-90 sounds great in the context of that song!

Do those pickup rings interfere with your playing? I see they're pretty chunky, due to the switches.

Disclaimer: All mediocre playing is due to the mediocre skills of the player (me) in the video, not the chunkiness of the pickup rings. ;-) Kidding aside, I never really noticed the chunkiness of the pickup rings interfering with my playing personally. As with many things, I suppose YMMV on that since there are a lot of variables (e.g., the type of guitar the pickup rings are mounted in, the player's technique such as where he/she rests his/her hands, how palm muting is done, etc.). As a side note, I do wonder about the longevity of the Triple Shots. I only had them for a year or two before selling them, but they could feel a tad flimsy at times being so small and plastic. I hope that helps. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

@@guidrummer1 Thanks for the reply - I’m going to be getting a set for my Prs and just wanted to know if it’s something I’ll be able to live with. Otherwise I’d have to look into other switching options. Thanks for making the video.

No problem. That makes sense. Yeah, they worked well enough for me in the PRS while I had them in there. I only sold them (and the PRS) to save up for some other equipment at the time. Seymour Duncan has some wiring diagrams showing how to wire up a couple of push-pull switches to get the same effect as the Triple Shots, but the Triple Shots were nice in that I had to do virtually no modification to the guitar to get all of those switching options. That was nice.

@@guidrummer1 I bought the pickups for my Custom 22 but my the guitar shop has told me they won't fit in my guitar! Apparently the neck pickup slot is too shallow. Did you have to modify your guitar at all to install them?

@@josepholney1 Hey there! Aw geez! I'm sorry to hear that. :-( I did not have to modify the Torero's pickup cavities for the P-rails to fit in mine. Granted, I installed them myself since I didn't have the $$$ for someone else to install them for me at the time. The only sort of modifying of anything that I had to do was to file one side of the triple shot a bit to fit the trembucker version of the P-rails bridge pickup in there, but that didn't really have anything to do with the height of the pickup--more the width. But I did not have to modify anything about the guitar itself. Feel free to ask more questions if you have any.
