Thank you JJ for this great amount of information and explanations :-) Following your design I just ordered a new pickguard and a set of P-Rails to modify my Squier Thinline 72 where I do not really like the re-issue wide-range humbuckers.

Best decision. The stock pickups are fine, but still they sound like any other humbucker. I did the same as you did and don't regret it.

It's pretty snappy

I'm loving that versatile wiring scheme. Which overdrive pedal are you using? It sounds great

Volume changes between pickups can be solved by calibrating them.

Is there any way you could do demo where the pickups are turned so that the single coils are on the outside?
