Seventyseven bike testing at Scunthorpe velodrome, (Battle Mountain bike). No lid, booster seat in.

Quibell Park velodrome in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, 27th March 2022.
First test of the bike outside the garage, with and without the kevlar protective shells. This was without the lid on, and I was on the 'booster seat' so that I could see forwards.
Amazingly everything worked OK - a fantastic couple of hours with Barney and Andrew, and Berny and my two daughters Amelia and Jess.

Is that GCN’s favorite Mr. “SMILE!!” launching? I am really impressed by the bike and your confidence riding it. Your time riding the unfaired chassis has really paid off.
I love the sound of makes as it passes the chaser!
That front tip is good enough for hyper-sonic Mach 3 speeds :)

I'm guessing this was recommended because I have electric bike and velobikes in my history.... Glad I actually seen it because this is awesome, it looks like a lot of fun too, specifically starting around the 5 minute mark. 😁

According to my experience in streamlined bikes, you should train starting and stopping in BM-Configuration and with canopy. Without canopy and with more upright position it is much easier balancing the bike. I guess the big nose makes the bike unstable in crosswind. You should think about a long tail… I wish you good luck for BM!

Without the hood, probably around 45-46kph. I think it is an amazing bike though.
