People need to realize that nowadays Canelo is a 5'8 Man with a relatively short reach fighting and destroying 6'0/6'1 guys with a longer reach. Already he's unified belts at 154, 160 and 168 and won a belt at 175. For all the great Mexican legends there is, no Mexican Fighter has ever done that. Time to put him as one of the greatest of all time and not just from Mexico.

My buddy turned me on to watching Alvarez a while back and he is one of the few boxers whose fights I will look forward to. Vasyl Lomachenko is another. Either way, does Canelo have many detractors? Because he doesn't really have any villain characteristics that would make him unlikeable IMO. He is very respectful and unbelievably disciplined. I have watched almost all his fights and I don't think I have ever seen him throw a single punch after the bell or dole out any unnecessary punishment. I dunno, seems like boxing fans don't have much ammo for disliking the man other than maybe they don't like Mexicans or something dumb like that.

Biggest compliment on my part is to put him right in there with Salvador Sanchez, Julio Cesar Chavez, Alexis Arguello and Marvelous Marvin Hagler; who are in my estimation some of the greatest fighters who ever boxed and I had the pleasure to watch as a young man. He is one of the very few fighters who could fight and hold his own against the great fighters of the 70's, 80's and early 90's...he would have not only survived, but dominated in fights going 15 Rounds of that era. Just a warrior; no talking s..., never ducking a fighter even early on in his career (Mayweather), frequently fighting, not running and holding in a fight, but meeting head on and fighting...just a pleasure to watch and develop over the years...a real sportsman!

A Canelo punch is like a Johnson & Johnson anti-COVID shot. As they call that, "One and done"!!!!!!!!!!

Nah, he's precise and calculated that's what makes him dangerous watch him. never chases the knockout it just comes to him , if not, then he just absolutely dominates like he did vs smith and others but he won't try and force a finish. And he doesn't discriminate with his power if he sees an opening he will throw hard whether it's the 1st round or the 12th he just knows when to pick his shots. He is insane man alot of these guys are just tough as nails but some of them like fielding or khan or trout can't take that same damage or he just found his perfect shot against them.

GGG soaking that punch up is amazing, no wonder he is one of the greatest.

Early stoppage in my opinion

I love Canelo but respect to GGG for taking that monstrous punch to the jaw, man kept on fighting like it was nothing.

If you see somebodies ear whip enough to deform then almost certainly they are getting flatlined You can see it in a few brutal knockouts infact but not something yiu usually pay attention too, the ears

Canelo is one of the best boxers from a technical stand point, you get the feeling no energy is wasted with his punches, great technique, great power and speed

From all current active boxers, only other boxer with balls of steel is pacman. Pacman and canelo have never ducked ANYONE. Champion after champion in higher weight classes. Legend in the making.

@@boto8309 Yes you are wrong. Can't call him a duck when he fought the guy TWICE. And andre ward?? Andre ward fought at 175..... you can't duck someone two weight classes above you.

@@nosir1440 agree. I like that he’s taking time now to deal with his mental state and, that he’s open about it. That way he’s alright when he gets a bit older and the pressure continues to build more and more as he wins. For Ryan it’s win or lose because he has so many haters.

Canelos uppercut on the first clip was insane. Mad respect to both of them. Canelo for his times and beautiful uppercut and the other guy for his will to survive it
