His short and stocky physique matched perfectly with his peekaboo style.. practically curled up in a ball, bobbing left and right, always moving forward and keeping the pressure on.. avoiding the taller fighters lengthy jabs and catching them one to the body, then one to the jaw.. lights out. Hard to imitate unless you have similar physique. In almost all cases, it's better to be tall with long reach like current champ Tyson Fury and late great Muhammed Ali.

He saw how his opponent was shelling up & came in with the classic centerline upper body/upper head to split his defense. Mike was the greatest & that is thx to Cus who saw his raw potential & to Mike himself who gave 100% of himself following Cus's training & fight philosophy.

Boxing could come back today if the best fought the best again. But now they get so many lay ups and easy wins it’s hard to be invested in an undefeated fighter. Especially when the media and seemingly most of the fan base writes them off after 1 or 2 loses. That’s why I’ve stuck with watching the ufc. I personally love to watch career comebacks more than the perfect career.

I remember as a kid, when boxing was still legal in Norway we had a boxer fighting a match in Las Vegas. We had to watch it at my uncles place, he had a satellite dish. Our guy was mediocre he lost, I remember its was still kinda interesting in a way. But after that came the main event, with Mike Tyson... I looked at Mike and thought, tsss this dude is way too big. Slow af, heavy weight is boring. A boxing match has never again made the same impression on me. This was the Iron Mike up and coming at his prime, he was as fast or faster then a feather weight, with lightning fast reflexes and a technique that was godly. I cant remember who his opponent was but he was totally outclassed. He didn't stand a chance. Later on the sports news we had a interview with our guy, and they started talking about Mike. He said yeah I know Mike we used to train in the gym together. I was like wow, he knows Mike? I was a instant fan.

Tyson PPV was truly a spectacle of its own. Nowadays people complain if they see a main event on a PPV card and it goes 12 rounds. Back then no one ever felt like they got robbed for paying for it even if it only lasted 1 or 2 rounds. You only complained about missing it happen live, but never like you got robbed and paid for money for nothing!
