Charlo didn't show up to this fight just wanting to survive. He actually let his hands go pretty freely in the earlier rounds. The problem he had is that he hit Canelo flush on several occasions and it didn't even stop him from coming forward. Even after the knockdown, he landed a left hook later that round that would have dropped most guys at 154. He shelled up once he realized that even his best shots were ineffective.

I would have loved Canelo inthe mix in the early 2000 though like 2010. Had some REALLY good fighters back in that time in the welterweight classes. Oscar, Fernando Vargas, Sugar Shane, Felix Trinidad, Ricardo Mayorga, Vernon Forest, Manny, Ricky Hatton and some other good solid boxers. He could bang and hang with all of them without question. The weight classes just below them there some other elite fighters. Like Marco Antonio Berera and Erik Morales. Oh, and Juan M Marquez.

Canelo has some zip in those shots. kept charlo's respect the entire fight. Meanwhile Canelo didn't respect Charlos power and that made the difference in the fight.

Just based on weight difference. Both equally skilled imo. Rather see canelo with Benavidez and maybe guys at 175 again

It’s pretty much GGG strategy that he picked up from him and it worked out great. Charlo got intimidated by Canelos counter punch and power punches and was hesitant to let his hands loose. It looks like he was shocked by how hard Canelo can punch.

Idk why Charlo is afraid of counter punches. Canelo doesn’t counter anyone anymore. The guy doesn’t know how to fight backwards. He just moves forward flat footed and throws the same overhand and left hook. Nothing special.

Knock on Canelo by Shakur: "He's basic and is loading up on his punches." If he's loading up on his punches, then why are guys letting him do it? Shouldn't they see that and counter, slip, or move? Maybe, Canelo doesn't respect these guys.

Tell you what, I have a different take on this fight… Charlo is one hell of a fighter. This wasn’t an indication of his weakness, but rather, it was proof of Canelo’s greatness. That being said, both Charlo’s need to represent their own divisions a lot better ( ie. more often).

Canelo is so good.

Canelo is really good but is being overlooked as a great defensive boxer. His loss to Bivol didn't take away his accomplishments. Now that Gayweather and Pacman are gone, Canelo is the lb for lb best boxer in the world.

Respect to Charlo he forsure showed heart and shows why he deserved this fight, took every hit like a true champion and delivered as well, did not back down 🦍 💪

Cánelo sent a letter of petition to the federal government asking if he could throw a punch before actually throwing it and still the other dude didn’t even bother to use this in his favor.

Canelo is one hell of a champion, and I respect him a lot, but just from a technical perspective, he seems to be slowing down a bit and becoming more of a pressure brawler. A lot of single shots, lot of shots taken on the high guard and keeps coming. Again, respect, but what I thought was so exceptional about him in the previous fights was that yes he was a hard puncher, yes his guard was impenetrable, but he also had the head movement and the lovely combinations to open his opponents up. Now, he just gets in close and throws hard single shows until his opponent buckles or until something slips through. This guy is a legend and has taken all the fights he should to be a GOAT, no question.

definitely not at his best anymore. A prime canelo would have unleashed hellish combos especially after the kd. He has also abandoned straight right hands for the big right hook.
