@@tim..indeed One of the best surfaces to land on? Partially wet sand?! You never went on a playground nor have you landed in WET sand from a considerable height, or you would know better. Maybe you just have no idea how much 7 meters are in freedom units. Maybe you think this here is the same as long jumping, where you hit the sand in an angle and not slam it vertically as some were about to do.

Intrestingly (to me at least) this sport comes from a actual daly functional part of life. We have a lot of water and as such a lot of little streams. Farmers have a lot of these in their fields. Now you could build these small crossovers with wooden planks and stuff, but then livestock would be able to cross these water made boundaries to, or in case of cows, they could try and end up stuck in a dich becouse they broke trough. So instead, farmers used to have some strong sticks scattered across laying next to the water. They used the sticks in the exact same way as this sport (to a lesser extreme ofcourse) to cross the water. To some extent people still do this.

Either the canal is deep asf for they are setting them up to loose cause the math behind these types of vaults and like pro gymnastics is that they can’t place their stick they have to basically guide their weight, while climbing and hope they not only reach a certain height but also make sure it goes in the right direction
@user-ly4tv9yj3f13 күн бұрын
I think the trick is to keep the pole steady while climbing to the top and then use the body weight to just lean across to the other end.

Could be wrong but from what I see, the legs are the trick to the mount. Everyone who kicked their legs harder to one side, the pole either fell sideways or rolled. The guy who won ran fast, landed low, and whipped his feet backward after wrapping to mount i think to counter the forward momentum of the pole, giving him enough time to gain height, before riding to the sandbar.

could tell immediately what most of them were doing wrong. They were running at the pole so fast that the pole was decending before they could climb to the top. only two of them didn't do that, and athough the first one still BARELY missed, that's how this is done... ya know, provided you have the ability to climb a pole anyways. Keep the pole to where it's standing straight up for as long as possible before the weight goes down on the other side.

I love how almost all contestants completely miss the point of the task and try to run across. As the Frisian King demonstrates, you merely need to be fast enough to reach the mid point.

Redbull gives u wings❌ Redbull gives u chance to break your bones✔️
The secret to this sport is not to run as fast as you can towards the pole. Gently run up to the pole. When you jump onto it, be sure to make it's direction of travel is towards the island. Then climb as high as possible. You are a Winner. Obviously, it will become more and more difficult. Such is Life.

@@She-Devil94some are causing the pole to fall fast before they can climb, making it look shorter cause of how fast they fell. @poppypoppy2898

it's the same pole everytime But you need to come lightly at it so it doesn't fall... so you actually have time to climb, while trying to make it fall slowly in the good direction. Going fast assure you that it will fall in the good direction, but no time to get up. Going slow assure you to have time to go up, but it might shift the way it's landing.
i think the trick is to just slow jog into it and climb as high as possible, because what most of them did is run very fast at it making it tip quicker, and therefore not climbing very high to clear as much distance

The first kid got it %100 but got scared of the height. Noticed how he immediately dropped as soon as he looked down. If he didn’t do that, he would’ve done it. That last guy copied his climbing strategy but wasn’t afraid of the height. Hence, he crossed 🤷🏻♂️. Props to the first kid 👊🏽🤙🏽✊🏽

What poles? These people are from the Netherlands, not Poland
The third guy with the long hair almost sent it right to the hospital 💀
my toxic trait thinking i could do that easily
Either the canal is deep asf for they are setting them up to loose cause the math behind these types of vaults and like pro gymnastics is that they can’t place their stick they have to basically guide their weight, while climbing and hope they not only reach a certain height but also make sure it goes in the right direction
I think the trick is to keep the pole steady while climbing to the top and then use the body weight to just lean across to the other end.
@Joseph-Mullins

I saw some military folks doing this in FL. Didn't realize it was actual sport. This is really cool

could tell immediately what most of them were doing wrong.

It looks like coming up slightly short would be a major injury. So, you either bail early or clear the edge by 10 meters.
I love how almost all contestants completely miss the point of the task and try to run across. As the Frisian King demonstrates, you merely need to be fast enough to reach the mid point. If you go too fast you will not have time to climb up the pole, and the climb is where you actually gain distance.
What's with the drastically different pole length between attempts?
