Seth's a naive, servile, ingratiating, compliant, useful idiot if he truly believes the narrative about the medical system and its response/handling of the pandemic. He's an example of how someone might be exceptionally gifted or talented at a craft, yet is an utterly uncritical thinker in his worldview and completely susceptible to manipulation or coercion. People wonder how nationalist socialists captured the devotion of so many in a mass formation psychosis that enhanced social collaboration in immoral acts--I'm sure Seth wonders himself about this--and yet he's a poster-child for such hypnotized masses. I used to consider Family Guy next-level brilliant in its satirical deconstruction of the dynamics of society. Seth just demonstrated that Family Guy isn't all that special at all.

You know what I loved about this more than anything else? They were able to discuss a very polarizing topic, clearly with different opinions on it, and even while openly disagreeing, they kept it civil and they didn't create any hatred from it and were open to listening to each other. That is what I'd love more people to be capable of. Even if after talking, even if we still disagree, we don't have to hate each other for it and can still be open to talking about it again. There'll never be any true compromises and societal improvements without more civil conversation.

Y'know one of the things about that which is great to see is long-time friends who can disagree on a lot of things but do so respectfully and still remain friends. That is what we should strive for in society. We won't progress if we stay locked in circles of yes-men. Let's learn to live together with people we don't agree with all the time, but try to orient our understanding to the world based on facts, evidence and reason. Being critical of systems more than people can be a helpful mindset. While there are people in elite power and control which can rightfully be critiqued for oppression or exploitation of others, that is not the case for the vast majority of people. VERY few people are the elite 1% rich and political establishment. So let's recognize that fact and try to work together more often, find common ground and move forward, step by step.

1:00:43 I don't know if Seth is unaware of where that comes from. My nephew graduated 13 years of public schools in 2007. The next 10 years we had to listen to him at thanksgivings & Christmas say "my generation is gonna knock it all down and start over" or "Down with the bourgeoisie". He's so proud to tell everyone he's an avowed socialist and he had teachers in his high school that showed him this way of thinking. And it is very common.

I'm 64 and think my memory is better than Bill's watching his podcasts but I think he's very self conscious about it. His heavy drinking and other drugs didn't pass through his body unscathed. Almost every guest remembers things he doesn't, older than him and younger and he wasn't as argumentive early on but is now. He actually apologized to one musician for dissing him once but didn't argue he didn't do it.

Long live The Orville! Loved that show, was extremely disappointed when the series ended and there wasn’t a proper ending or wrap up.

While they aren't working on it currently, if they are givin the opportunity to make it work (money/time wise), they all agreed they would. Except for whats her name that plays as his ex gf and CO. She's the only one that doesnt have an interest in coming back. But there is still hope though.

@@slurricrasher9923 Sucks how great shows like The Orville get cut short for several reasons that don't have to do with the actually quality of the show or the fan support. I do hope, some point in the not to distant future, the cast and crew of The Orville can take flight again on a channel that respects and appreciates them.

Seth had the most logical responses to Bill basically pouting about vaccines without any scientific facts to lean on

this is not complicated: you cannot sue vaccine manufacturers. The same cannot be said of almost any other product that is put into the bodies of newborns, infants and children. Therefore, these multibillion dollar corporations whose products are legally required for school attendance in most states have no financial incentive whatsoever to make their products safer. If you want to end vaccine skepticism, stop protecting these corporations who literally do not give af about you or your family and make them liable for when their product destroys lives, no matter how "rare" they claim that is.

You think? Don't you think the biggest problem around that topic is that nothing is scientific about the narratives? For instance: Seth claims that there are no vaccine deaths (or very little). But we don't know because it isn't investigated yet, and some side effects will take years to show. (Remember some medicine scandals from the past). And why are excess deaths still at an all-time high? He says 6/7 million people died worldwide. Like that proves anything. 60 million people die every year. The numbers don't mean anything without background information. Who died, how old were they, did they had health issues etc. The number doesn't tell us anything. Natural immunity didn't stop some people from getting covid a second time (or more), but the same is true about the vaccine. It's weird to call out one person for not being scientific, when both people in the conversation aren't. Is it because you like the official propaganda better?
