I'm confused concerning generational curses (past 45:00). Bob Larson does deliverance and he deals with generational curses? Who's right? Who's wrong?

I tend to agree with Voddie Baucham on this one. There are always consequences to sin but curses are something quite different.

We would need to establish what (according to scripture) a generational curse is, and, there is nowhere in scripture that I can establish the foundation of such a concept.

@@CathGaudet it does sound that way. However we have to pay close attention to the context. This is not a general statement, but, rather aimed at the children of Ammon and Moab. The are the Nations of the illegitimate children of Lot and his two daughters. Notice that the statement has a specified length as well, 10th generation. That would be approximately 250 years. Deaut 23: 2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord. 3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the Lord for ever: 4 Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee. 5 Nevertheless the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee. 6 Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever. 7 Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land. It is really talking about the Israelites relationship with their close relatives in the land and cannot be applied generally to indicate generational curses. So I would agree with Voddie on this particular point. I hope this helps in your thoughts on this.

The reason I'm insisting on knowing the truth about this point is because I've paid 600 USD to a deliverance ministry and the pastor told me I had the bastard curse (just as he did, because we were both conceived out of wedlock). If it's a real thing, I think everyone should be free from that curse, but if it's a deception of the Enemy, everyone should be warned and protected from/against that particular ministry. I pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal me the complete Truth about all of this. May you be blessed.
