Yet another remarkable sequence of music bearing all the hallmarks of Prokofiev's idiosyncratic sense of melody. The "Introduction" and final "Dance" are perfect examples of what I mean. "Dreams" (11:10 - 19:09) is beautifully formed, again confounding the listener's expectations as to how it will be resolved.....in effect, the perfect musical analogy of a dream state. A genuine master-composer at work!

Have you heard the suite from "Semyon Kotko"? The opera is all over the map, really strange work. This is reminscent of it. I grew up listening to the Russians. Feels seconmd nature to me. My close friend was raised on Mozart and Beethoven, we keep trying to explain ourselves to one another. xD

Yes, I know it. It's also included in the Prokofiev playlists on this channel.

Espectacular, lo mejor de toda la suite. 6:04 - 8:20 Íntimo, melancólico y con un timbre especial.
Ended up here because of Dave Hurwitz video, and boy am I glad I did. 1st hearing and I dig it 👍 You're the best, Rodders...keep sharing 😊

Splendid. MR
One of my favorites. I have listened to the Opera "Duenna" and although it is really funny this Suite is grasping the musical genius part perfectly. Strangely enough I have a Deja Vu with the music of The Scarlett Buccaneer by John Addison, it has a same atmosphere, action and romance. kzread.info/dash/bejne/opmjz7quotrUh8o.html
