Dave,one of the reasons why the inside line goes off after a boat/barge goes through a peg, is because the wash from the prop pushes the silt and sediment against the bank(tins or slabs) and then it washes back into the inside line again,after it's passed the peg,it's more prevalent the nearer a boat/barge is to the bankside..

used to fish at norbury 30 odd years ago harry moultons team mohmar was team to beat back then grub street used to be awesome for catching decent nets of skimmers have they gone now dave ? You could catch 3lb of gudgeon on most pegs on a 3m whip as well mad how fishing changes. You were right about the staffs worcester used to be big gonks on that canal i remember nigel bull catching 9lb on a 4m whip, i won my section with 7lb of em on a 1.5 m whip 20 to the pound massive.

Still the odd skimmer at Grubb street but not on every peg and not really that many of them! Gudgeon go in a 3 year cycle, so they say. So maybe next year or the year after they'll be proper gonks🤷‍♂️ As far as the Staffs and Worcester goes, you wouldn't think there were any in there at all. Rarely any caught in matches nowadays!

Yes, it can be hard when it blows because the landscape is flat, but the fishing is great. I pay £10 for my ticket and it's great value.

Do you feed a pinch of squatt or full pouch or does it depend on how the fish are feeding which dictate your feeding pattern?

It's usually a pinch of squatt but yes it does depend on how the fish are feeding. Sometimes it'll be a good pinch but rarely a pouch full.
