At 38:27 you can see it coming apart when you caught that Perch. I wrote the time down and was waiting to finish watching the upload until I made my comment.. 41:34... Boom...lol. Narrow boats for me were part of the reason I've rarely fished canals for the last 25 years (and living next door to Heronbrook & Cudmore had no effect at all..lol). We were taught at junior level that everyone has the same amount of boats as you, its who deals with it the best that holds his own/peg... I'm fatter than you now Dave.. So knocking match angling on the head and sticking to a metal detector.. You keep strutting your stuff and I'll keep watching!!!

I’m an ex canal match angler who lives in the Wigan / StHelens area and fished the Leeds and Liverpool, Lancaster, Bridgewater and Trent and Mersey canals as both a club and open match angler. I’ve not been near a canal for many years, boats, cyclists and walkers ( not to mention dog shit ) ruined it for me. The worst day I remember was on the Lancaster canal which at the time was landlocked. I can’t believe how many boats came past that day, at least over a hundred. There was also a sponsored charity walk taking place along the towpath with again many hundreds of participants. The match was over 100 peg Northern AA centre match which I actually won with a weight of 1lb 6 oz of tiny Roach and Tommy Ruffe caught on a 3 metre fibreglass lerc whip down the side. The next weight was 12oz. This was late 1979 and before carbon poles, just imagine trying to use a long pole with all that going on! Best Wishes and again thank you for your content.🎣🤓 David.

Well done under the circumstances, I think there is a small number of boaters who don't care about anglers. However, the majority who speed and cause mayhem are those who hire a narrowboat for their holidays Aldi and Tesco sell large white loaf for 36 pence.

Nice 1 dave. Love the vids but you aint converted me to canal fishing yet. Too many buddy boats 🤣🤣 Just wandering. How many times have you thrown ur landing net into the cut when you throw it through your hand to place it back down the bank 😆😆

Thanks mate I've never threw it in the cut but have got it stuck in vegetation a few times!
