For 15 years I fed my Cat dry food, she had dry fur on top coat and oilly on the skin , every time I touch her my hands get sticky I thought she was born that way, I was so wrong! It's the dry garbage cat good she been eating! Thank you Dr. Jones! For a month I started to cook homemade cat food, my cat got more energy and her fur become so soft and shiny like a kitten and plus NO MORE greasy oily fur!!! These pet food company are making our pets sick some time they are killing our beloved pets with their toxic food, they are profiting with veterinarian and big pharmaceutical from you and your pets suffering!

It doesn't seem to matter how "good" the brand is touted to be, my cats turn up their nose at canned food, once they've licked all the coating sauce off the yukky meat stuff left in the bowl. So, mega-bucks later, I'm picking up 1/2 bowls of food every morning. I'm glad to hear someone successfully did it though!

Dr. Jones-- BRAVO to you for being one of the only traditional medicine (non-homeopathic) vet to admit to the long-term devastating affects of dry food. Do you have any opinions on feeding your dogs/cats raw food? At any stage in life? Since....they are obligate carnivores. I would love to see a video on that if you have any opinions/ideas! TX!

I'm surprised they still like it, but hey.... if it works, that's great, because once the wet part has been licked up, mine leave all the rest in the bowl. I've tried adding organic chicken broth to the food with a little success, but my senior guy isn't eating anything past the liquid and sometimes, will only eat cheap cat treats. I've only ever had Greenie treats, but the vet's office had the cheap ones and he devoured those, sooo... He's been so ill (was on IV fluids for a week in the clinic), the vet says that even if it's not ideal, it's better than nothing. I think he's even getting tired of those now though, so hopefully he'll eat something else. Tried sardines this morning; he turned up his nose, but my younger FAT cat thought it was his birthday or something and gladly scarfed up with the old boy didn't touch!

When my old cats started going potty around the house ( even though for 15 yrs of their life They can go in and out as they please ), I couldn't keep cleaning it up and getting angry ( I'm also ageing along with them), so I have a litterbox and puppy pads in every corner.8 to be exact. They are all over 16 except the 2 yr old stray. I would love to have a second litter box for them only I really can't afford all the litter. 💙 I really thank you for this video I'm so much more at ease. My cats are like my children and their health and how to help them at this stage in their life is super stressing.

You don’t say how many cats you have but you should have per litter tray per cat. If you can’t afford the litter then either A) use fine clumping litter which is more cost effective and/or B) don’t have so many cats if you can’t provide their needs. Why have so many cats if you can’t afford to look after them properly?!

My cat is 16 this year & has the occasional vomiting but not constipation, quite the opposite, so I just switched her from 9 Lives cat food to Purina Senior cat formula. It has the glucosamine, no dyes, more natural with real chicken, vegetables & grain, added vitamins & minerals. Also canned cat food gives her diarrhea.

DISCLAIMER: If After Reading This You Consider Making The Switch Please Do Your Research And Be Mindful I have a 16 year old kitty named Noot! She's precious and we love her here at home. About 4 months ago she started loosing fur on her back legs as well as her back end. We tried flea medication at first. Which initially helped with her scratching and biting but did nothing regarding her fur. We then thought of Omega Fatty Acids (especially considering its benefits for skin and coat) and began switching her nightly wet food feedings to wet fish types of canned food. This did not work as planned either so we began cracking a raw egg into her dry food during morning feedings. We did this for a week (switching to solely egg yolks midway through). WITHIN ONE WEEK there were finally signs of her fur beginning to come back. Since then we've completely switched her to a wet raw food diet fed twice daily and combined a medicinal mushroom (complex) supplement. Raw diet consisting of 70% Muscle Meats, 15% Meaty Bones, 15% Organ Meats fed at 4% of her body weight (haha had to invest in a cheap but quality produce scale). Biggest take aways since the switch (which I deem both life saving as well as life extending) are as follows: 1). Fully grown coat of fur, shinier and softer than ever before. 2). Increase of energy and just general curious kitty territory exploration. 3). She has become far more tolerant of our younger (more playful) Russian Blue/Tabby kitty and even plays occasionally where she previously would run away whilst hissing and growling. 4). Her litterbox is basically odor free and fills up in almost double the amount of time that it otherwise did with a traditional wet/kibble based diet. 5). It COSTS US LESS to feed her raw food than the traditional wet/kibble prescription based diet she lived on for years. Kitty's are obligate carnivores. They thrive on ethically produced raw MEATS!! P.S. We've also introduced a yogurt alternative known as Kefir. Contains more probiotics than yogurt, includes beneficial yeasts, and most unique of all, 1/4 the amount of lactose as other dairy products dude to its fermenting process.

Hi doctor and thanks for all your work and valuable expertise and information. I have a 16 year old tabby who I took in a little over a year ago because he could not poop. X-rays were taken and it showed basically a logjam in his intestine. I had examined his fecal matter before and found it to be absolutely dry inside with his tummy hair and dirt inside. Absolutely dry! Then after that extensive and might I add expensive diagnosis they sent me home with lactulose and that was it. He has been on canned food for some years. What I know to be true is that there is a animal hormone used in the making of plastic and his mother used to be overly interested in licking and chewing plastic and he follows in her footsteps to the degree that he will find pieces outside etc etc and it's almost impossible to keep track of what he ingests. Both my kitties grew up in the wild suburbs of the High Desert Foothills outside and north of LA CA. They've always been excellent Hunters and they're both pretty big boys who still love to go out and enjoy the Sun and roll in the dirt, hence the dirt in the stool contents. I've researched the attraction to plastic and that's what I found about the animal by-product being used for a binding agent in the plastic making. I took him to a second appointment where an actual biopsy was taken and sent back east for analysis. Their diagnosis was very in the gray once again without a good solid regimen for us to follow for the IBD they were claiming that he had. And not to mention the shape of his bowel was coming out like a flat ocean bottom jellyfish always very little and odd shaped about the size of a quarter. I researched and took pictures comparing the size and shape to a quarter. Definitely not a normal hot dog-shaped bowel. And always very dark green. He was a bit overweight when this first occurred. And he's always been a little piglet regarding eating. One of many of important reasons I got them off of any kibble because he would basically inhale it and it would come back up immediately. I feed them canned food I add extra water to the meal so that they have no choice but to ingest the water with the meal and they seem to enjoy that because they don't for whatever reason drink like they used to right out of the water bowl that's been kind of a mystery. I even bought them and automatic water fountain but both my cats weren't interested and Lippy, my cat in question was actually afraid of the automatic on and off motion detector setting:-). I would like to purchase products from you if that's possible. I agree with your stand in Natural Animal Health so I don't want to just go searching around and buying from anybody. Can you send me a brochure or literature by snail mail if that still exists? My mother who is 88 would enjoy also a brochure about you and your products and will Who You Are. She doesn't have a computer and she doesn't even have a cell phone:-) okay this novel has gone on long enough:-) My email is lordianro@gmail.com some of us out here still really appreciate holding information in our hands and being able to look at the pictures and have it be more physically consumed hahaha. Thank you for your time. Also my kitty had lost quite a bit of weight but still has a decent appetite but, he strains sometimes with no bowel at all and I know he's getting older but he's not as comfortable as I think he could be as he deals with this deformed digestive tract or colan. I would have continued to take him to vets if I could have but I was discouraged when they did all the diagnosis and still couldn't, like I said, give me a solid path to follow for us to deal with it. Thank you again doctor and much love and God bless your family and all your Critters 💪😇👌 💖

God gave us all we would ever need to live healthy lives!! It is wonderful that you teach those things for our precious pets!! Your cat is just beautiful & so precious!! I have a cat she is 16 or 17 & Ijust stumbled onto this video & I was so thankful because I am seeing things that are making my baby girl my cat her name is Princess. When she goes to pee she always cries & it is tearing my heart out. I can't afford to take her to the veterinary clinic. So your video helped me so much! What kind of wet food do you recommend I get her? She eats hard food & canned food. But she does seem unsatisfied lately. She also has alot of anxiety! But I know what to give her after listening to this video. I can see too she has arthritis in her right back leg. I will be getting some of the remedies you talked about. I just wanted to know what wet food & what dry food you would recommend? Thank you so much as I am subscribed now & looking forward to learning more to keep my Princess healthy & happy!! 🤗❤🐾❤🙌👍❤

I feed my young cat a mixture of dry food and wet food. Because of that I have a drinking fountain, and he uses it a lot. Since cats have small stomachs, they need access to food most of the time. That is the advice I got from my vet. According to veterinarians in Norway, cats should have access outdoors, as they will live longer (about 5-600 cats are killed in traffic a year in Norway). My old family cat was attacked outdoors and got an infection, and I don’t understand why indoors cats is almost seen as abuse. I don’t know why the advice from vets is so different from Norway compared to other parts of the world.

You are awesome! this is the first time watching you. You have no idea how much this video meant to me 💙. I have 4 cats that I've had since born and I all 4 of them are between 16 and 17 yrs old. ( I also have one that's almost 2 ) About 3 yrs ago we started giving canned food 3 times a day. It was mostly because they got very demanding about it. Then I figured well maybe they're having teeth problems so we gave in. I started worrying about them not getting enough nutrition by not eating enough cat chow. Thank you for straightening me out about that!!!!! I was also worried about switching to Friskies canned food after they have eaten 9Lives canned for 16 yrs of their life. At thier age I thought food brand change would be a catastrophe. Friskies canned has twice as much gravy compared to 9Lives. My oldest male alpha cat has had nightmares occasionally through his life. Now he makes the same noise awake daily. when I rush to him he's always just fine and circles my legs and purrs. My female white cat does this also but only once a week.. The 2 yr old cat stresses the old cats out every day.he does drag his butt sometimes and is very overweight. He stays stressed because he really just wants to play with everyone.

Thanks for the good information. The thing I'm noticing with the wet food I have been buying is that the quality of it has seriously declined within the last few months. It's no wonder my senior cat is turning up her little pink nose at it. I've been trying to substitute some meat, fish and chicken whenever I can get them. I've been buying the same brand for years (Friskies), but lately the texture appears sort of spongey & I can hardly blame the cat for rejecting it outright or simply picking at it. Hoping I can find something better for her.

It would be VERY helpful (actually necessary!) if you gave the names here, under the sm. drop down arrow, of these supplements you describe -- I didn't even understand a lot of the names you said, nevermind how to spell them!! (& u need to repeat the dosages, too, in writing here too!!) And where to buy each of these things!! Vet clinic? Drug store? Health food store? Some sm. appliance store?? Where??? I hv an elderly cat who really needs all of these things!! So, this was 33% helpful, and, really unfortunately, about 66% not helpful. 😞 I just got, for sure, the wet food not dry, which I already know.

Hi thank you SO much for this video for my 14 year old baby boy Oliver :) Random side question. Is rosemary safe for cats? He got fleas for the first time since he was a kitten and I'm looking for an alternative option. I've tried coconut oil and I read to make a spray with rosemary water. Thanks so much!

Do not want to use petroleum products. Periodically use canned 100% pumpkin, added to soft food and also unrefined coconut oil. They love both.

My cat is over 15 & was fine until 6 mo's ago- I think she has diabetes - I switched her to can & leave hi protein food to graze on- I give her a lot of hairball tx- she's been eating mostly treats lately& I think she's constipated so I did the Vaseline on her paw since she isn't eating for 2 days- she is drinking- so hopefully it will help her

This as incredibly helpful... I’ll have to watch your vid on essential oils. My cats won’t touch anything with glucosamine. They will get mad. So I started giving my senior cats a triple blend for arthritis. 1MK ARNICA 1MK RHUS-TOX 1MK RHUTA The improvement is amazing! More alert, curious, less sleeping (pain). I get it from a homeopathic pharmacist and it’s affordable. They drink less water if I add it, so I am giving it by mouth. Do you think there could be any issue with the alcohol going directly into the mouth? My vet recommended it, but he failed to give proper dosing instructions so I want to be sure the carrier is not harmful. I give water and treat following Thank you so much.. I love Gussy telling you what she thinks throughout the video! 🤣🤣🤣

My cats are 9, 13 and 14 yrs old. They are rescued as babies and I had to feed the litter. We found good homes for all but three. No one wanted theses kitties so we end up keeping them. I will change their food Kibble to moisture cat food. Just for thought putting our cats and dogs age as we do we need more trips to the doctor they are the same way they get sick we need to get them some help. Can you be expensive yes so, please look at the long-haul of your pet. Make sure you can provide the medical needs as well as their mental needs.

I've been trying to figure out why my old 17yr cat howls for no reason so I started leaving an extra water bowl where he drinks with room temp water thinking the cold water is hurting his teeth or belly.he eats well, (he's overweight ) and drinks a lot of water. He goes #1and #2 potty seemingly normal. So my second thought was anxiety about something, his arthritis or teeth. About 5 yrs ago we started giving him Byvecta flea medicine. He suffered with severe skin problems his whole life. The Byvecta is a miracle drug for him, since he's been on it he's had a thick, beautiful coat of hair. Our small female calico also same issue.

I ended up going wit the standard process formulas for hepatic and hyspoerthyroid kidneys ect and his blood work is now normal again.

I have been thinking of getting her some kitty valium. I have "calming" treats...and they work a little bit, but not enough to take her on a plane for instance.
