    I ve been massaging the tendon for more than 6 months with little imrovement but never heard anything about the calf muscles stiffness part.First time I tired this I felt unimaginable pain in the calves and felt the stifness of my calves more about 3 inches up the tendon. Maybe the problem is indeed in the calves. Only 10 minutes of this massage helped me more than anything so far. Thank you very much !

    Thanks for sharing this! Foam rolling just hasn't worked. However, after trying this technique last night...heel pain went away almost immediately. Since this helps so much, would you say I am suffering from Achilles tendinitis or bursitis at the insertion at the heel?

    You talk about the pain coming when you get down to massaging the actual tendon, I actually don't have any pain in the middle, rather on the inside of the ankle, I had been massaging this painful area a bit, do you recommend this?

    Hi Doc- can I do this even though I feel a small lump on my tendon just above my heel? It developed about a year ago on the left ankle only…but I’ve suffered with PF for almost 12 yrs…thank you kindly.

    Thanks Bruce! Late summer last year, after playing tennis 2-4 hours most days, my previously uninjured Achilles was giving me pain. I used the method you demonstrated for three or four days and I haven't felt any pain since.

    WOW. I am a 41 year old skateboarder, and Friday morning I woke up and couldn't walk. The very back of my heel was so tight and sore I couldn't step down with my left foot. For 4 days I could not walk, and had to use a walker, ice, and NSAIDs, nonstop. I found this video last night, used the massage techniques, as well as stretching the muscle, and I am BLOWN AWAY, that the pain is 99.9% GONE, and I am walking around like it never happened. Sir, you are a GOD! Thank you!

Can't wait to get some more of this weight off, and really get back into it.

    I got the tendonitis 3 weeks before my marathon... Been RICE-ing with minimal results, I thought I was done for but tried this last night and the result was awesome! Now I'm back on my feet again with 9 more days to go. I think this just saved my marathon =D

  • @andersongoncalves193

    Did it save your marathon? How is your Achilles after 3 months?

  • @cornman1220

    @cornman1220

    Anderson Goncalves The marathon was great! Aside the usual effects of the wall at mile 20, everything was fine. I had some KT tape on during the marathon for some support and the cold weather of Tokyo helped. I have another marathon in 10 days (what a coincidence) and my achilles is definitely something that I'm not worried about.

  • @cornman1220

    @cornman1220

    Anderson Goncalves Idk... a month maybe? but if you have a serious problem you should consider seeing a sport therapist. Just know that if their solution is "to stop running" then they don't know what they're doing since that's not the solution to the root cause of the problem.

    Thanks - I've had achilles tendinitis/tendinopathy for about 6 years now. I've had various physio and chiropractor work over these years and the pain has come and gone, but never been totally cured. I've been doing eccentric stretching/strengthening exercises daily for about 6 months which keep the pain at bay, but as soon as I stop these, or start running again, the pain just returns and gets worse. I'll try the cross fiber work daily from now on. If you have any other tips for people like me with chronic tendinitis - things we should be doing daily as well as the cross fiber work - please let me know.

    soillseach I've also been injured for a year now and I really am sick of it. I thought I was the only person on this earth who had it so long but you have it much longer. Every time i do sports it hurts and i haven't done sports for a full year now. I also do eccentric heel drops daily and they don't seem to work that good. I always stopped and restarted then stopped then restarted but now I finally kept it consistent and I'm at 9 weeks but idk if it's gonna work or not

    Thomas Parker I think they do work to keep it at bay. my problems have come and gone over those years but it's like it's vulnerable now so it can be set off again easily. sometimes I feel that low level exercise actually helps. good luck.

    soillseach yeah I agree, the little workouts etc help keeping the tendon stronger than it is. I wake up every morning eith my achilles feeling like it's about to tear because it takes time to warm up and stretch properly. But idk if I'm just gonna have to live with this or it will go one day... I have it on both feet so that's an even bigger bummer
