I lived a couple of miles from where it happened getting ready for work I'll never forget the phone call from my mother crying she couldn't tell me then my dad couldn't get his words out then he tells me what happened I went into shock I didn't want to believe them then I get a call from work asking if I was ok to work which I wasn't but it would of been worse if I stayed home, We all lost a Great Person with a Heart of Gold I can go on and on about her Thank You All For Showing Y'alls Love For Her 😭💔

@EML Trucking Gloria Estefan doesn’t have a powerhouse voice like Selena did, or the dancing ability Selena did back in her day. Plus Gloria Estefan was Born in Cuba, Selena was a Mexican American that was born here and represented us Latinos who are born and raised here. Two different talents, one was destined to reach far greater success in their career, that being Selena

Some people dance like that because they learned it early from Grandma and Grandpa. It is a cultural thing that is learned. Not everything is from the point of view of carnal, but more from the point of feeling and love and family. I wish there was a way to bridge the gaps of understanding to make it more of an appreciation of history to know of how and why the dance is danced.

Por robarle dinero, y él dijo wow babe ella está muy bonita y su voz le gusta la canción el chico del apartamento 512, ( yo le traducía la letra) Selena fan forever.en ese tiempo no había cell o you tube.

a lot people who are new to finding out who she is tend to believe she was the Madonna of the Mexican people but i say shes our micheal jackson started performing with her family band and blossomed into the queen of Tejano and will always live in our memories..RIP

I agree with all your compliments about her. Incredible. I'm just feeling she and jlo were one on some level. Amazing enormous talent.

I like how this dude genuinely gets it. It's so hard to explain this to people who never grew up w this music. They just never get the real impact she left. How tremendously talented she was. From her fashion to her music to her whole vibe. They see it now and don't fucking get it.

This video was from her last televised live performance. It was at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo inside the now-defunct Astrodome in Feb. of 1995. The Astrodome held many Rodeo concerts and the sound inside that place left a lot to be desired, no matter the performer. She was playing to a sold-out crowd of 60+ thousand fans.

She opened the Tejano industry for women. She was working on a crossover album into pop music right before her death. There are a few English version songs out there.
