I say it all the time, but I'll say it again: if Selena and Aaliyah hadn't died, BeYAWNcé wouldn't be shit.

Not only is her voice incredible, but she can DANCE. She’s a natural performer, no lessons. She’s magnetic and extremely charismatic, she’s got a Freddie Mercury stage magnetism.

I’m a native Texan and I am Hispanic , Selena was incredible and was always a presence in my life growing up. She died a year before I was born. Such a beautiful soul it still hurts me to think that such a bright light is gone from this Earth 💜💜

I Love Selena so much. I was actually there at this concert at the Houston Astrodome. It was an amazing performance. She broke the attendance record that day.

My mom was at that concert and continues to say that’s one of her favorite things she’s ever seen

A true Texas treasure that was taken from us! I wish the world could’ve seen what she would’ve been. I was there in Houston for this. Everyone there that night was together, happy, enjoying her music and each other’s company and we had one bond; Selena!! TexMex at its true meaning! RIP Ms. Quintanilla... I will never forget you and your impact on my young adult life! Thanks Doc for keeping her memory alive and sharing her music for the world to enjoy!

I had just got home from a college class, I turned on the TV in the living room and was preparing to have lunch when the news broke that she had died.

She lured her in with promises of missing documents then shot her when she turned to leave.

Her and Jlo are the same age ! Imagine how amazing she would’ve looked if she was still with us !❤️ I will never forget the day she died. I was staying at a villa at the beach with my family and I became friends with a girl that was staying there too and her mom came outside to give her the news because she was also a big fan . We were 10 year old girls wanting to be Selena and to hear that she was gone trully messed us up .

Yolanda Saldivar was the fan club president for Selena. However Selena’s father (Abraham) started receiving phone calls from fans that they haven’t received any merch, signed posters, nothing! They paid the money but didn’t receive anything. Abraham found forged checks to Yolanda from herself using Selena’s money. She had stolen a LOT of money from Selena and it went unnoticed because she had worked her way into becoming Selena’s best friend as well as her assistant so Selena didn’t want to believe it. Sel was also too busy to notice the embezzlement was happening. Yolanda was confronted by the family and they told her she was obviously fired and needed to return any forms or money she had that belonged to them. By this point, Yolanda had grown obsessed with the fact that she was Selena’s right hand and couldn’t let go to the point she was obsessed with Sel. She had apparently purchased the gun to kill herself but what made things contradicting was the fact that she started practicing at a shooting range before the day she killed Selena. Selena and her worked something out where she was going to meet up with Yolanda to pick up the forms she needed to file her and Chris’s taxes. Yolanda checked in to the Days Inn in Corpus Christi, TX (Selena’s hometown) the night before the shooting. Selena and Chris went over that same night but Yolanda didn’t have all the forms. I think when she realized that Chris was waiting in the truck, she decided not to give Selena everything that way she could catch her another time when she would be alone. The next morning before she was scheduled to do a recording and also before Chris (her husband) even got out of bed, Yolanda calls Selena and tells her she’s been raped and needs help. Nobody knew Selena was going there alone. Yolanda had come up with a story that she had been raped and Sel took her to the hospital so she could get checked on. The nurses found no trace of rape and they privately told Selena that Yolanda’s apparent ripped clothing looked as if she cut them up with scissors by herself to stage an attack on herself. Selena grew more and more suspicious of Yolanda as they were driving back to the hotel room. They go inside, have some kind of argument about the forms and money and apparently Yolanda pulls out the gun and scared Selena turns to run out of the room, then Yolanda shot her in the back. Eye witnesses say Selena ran to the lobby screaming and that Yolanda walked out of the room with the gun still pointed at Sel, calling her a b*tch and then went back in the room to gather her things so she could try to get away. The run to the lobby forced blood to pump out of Selena even quicker and that’s what caused her death. If the bullet had been just a tad bit in another direction, she may have still been here with us but she was shot in a major artery. Basically she was shot and killed by an obsessed woman who didn’t know how to let go. It’s unfortunate what that woman took from the Latino community 💔

She was a very family oriented person, her brother,husband, and sister were in her band, her dad her manager and her mother was pretty much her stylist, that's the thing that stands out to me and always has I remember the day she died very well, we had a school assembly and a local news helicopter came to the school(I was in 6th grade,small Texas town) and all of a sudden they had to leave because she had been shot, it wasn't until later that afternoon that I found out she died, me and my sister cried and had the radio on the local tejano station listening to them play her songs nonstop, it was a sad sad day, not just for Texans, latinos,not just for females but for everyone who loved good music and could relate to her on a human level ❤️🌹

Her parents were Jehovah Witnesses when she got shot the doctor said there was a chance she could have lived if she had a blood transplant but her parents said it it was in God's hands if she lived or died this are facts 💯 there's some religions that are against medicine and science

Selenas dad found that Yolanda, the fan club president, was stealing from them, and her fans. Selena actually went to meet with her at a hotel to give her the benefit of the doubt that it was a misunderstanding. When she found out it was true, Yolanda pulled a gun on her and shot her in the back while she ran away. Selena was able to get across the parking lot and collapsed in the hotel lobby. I still remember the standoff Yolanda had with the police being broadcasted live on our local news. We live in the Corpus Christi area and I think of Selena each time we pass that hotel. She was so humble and down to earth. She would still shop at the local walmart, built her house in her childhood neighborhood that was far from glamorous, and still liked to eat tacos at the mom and pop place Hi-Ho. One of a kind performer and wonderful person.

That black guy was actually her neighbor since they were very young..in the neighborhood of Molina it's a mixture of Hispanics and blacks and alot of us are related..through interracial couples of course..after Selena passed he went into a deep depression. He tried self medicating. I was in court one day for a ticket I hadn't payed and he was also there for a dwi..his name was don and I think out of all of them even the family he took it the hardest wich is crazy..you'd think the family would take it the hardest but nope this beautiful sole was crushed when she died and he couldn't cope with it..the cancer ate at him until it totally consumed him and eventually took his life.

Bro. If you haven't seen the Selena movie yet, watch it. My 6yr old son is a HUGE Selena fan. About 2 yrs ago were sitting on the couch. The movie was about to come on Lifetime, or something. We ask him, look bud. The Selena movie is going to play. Do you want to watch it? He said "No thank you. Can I play on my tablet?" Ok, no worries. Less then a minute into the movie and the tablet did not exist in his world. He loved watching. Close to the end of the movie, his mom and I look at each other with the "Oh crap! We know what's about to happen" look. The look on his face when the realization of what was happening hit him. Wrecked his world for over a week. At bathtime his face was in his hands. "That lady shot Selena. Why did she shoot Selena? Selena's dead." He has the DVD and sings and dances to it every time.

You asked what happened Selena's last day! I have watched A lot about this and there were only 2 people there at the time it happened and one is dead and the other in prison! This is what I belief! Yolanda manipulated her way into being President of Selena's fanclub and also became manager of Selena's Boutiquel About a week before in a family meeting,Selena,'s father accused Yolanda of stealing money from the fan club and boutique and fired Yolanda,there was missing accounting records,and Yolanda was exposed for the "golddigger" she is! Yolanda then purchased a 32 caliber revolver and then phoned Selena to come to her room at Day's Inn! No one heard this call,but we know Selena took Yolanda to a hospital for a rape test! Yolanda claimed to have been raped the night before,the rape test was negative and the doctor told Selena,Yolanda's clothes had been cut with scissors rather than torn in a rape! When they got back to the hotel Selena probably confronted Yolanda on this and the stolen money! From the blood spatter,Selina was shot in the back probably running out the door! She ran over 300 steps to the hotel office with an internal artery severed! She literally bleed out! They opened her chest and directly injected blood into her heart at the hospital,but Selena was gone! Selena your fans will always love you! You will aways be remembered,Selena,we fans will always keep you alive! I think Yolanda should have gotten the death penalty,instead she is up for parole in 2025!!

I lived in Houston when this was filmed and of course when she was shot. You can't imagine how shocked and sad the entire state of Texas was. She was just on the cusp...

Grew up around her and watched her rise to fame. She is amazing all around and had her audience in the palm of her hand from the first note. She brought it at the small venues to the Astrodome, that was Selena! True pro and no telling all the amazing things she would have done. I was just getting ready to type this... not a huge J Lo fan, but she was fantastic in that movie as Selena.

Selena's killer formed the Selena fan club in the early 90s. Since the band had been busy with promotions and touring, they felt it was a good idea when this woman made the bid to form the club. In the late months of 1994, Selena was far away from Texas, touring in Mexico and at this point the killer thought she was clever and start throwing away fan club applications but keeping the money that was sent for fan club membership. She did this along with stashing away lump sums of money from Selena's boutiques in a separate account. When she was finally caught by Selena's manager (her father), she promised she would present all the accounting to prove her innocence. This never occurred. The killer was, then, fired by Selena's father and told never to show her face again at the company's property (Q-Productions). She was also told to stay away from Selena. This triggered fear and a betrayal in her that she went and bought a gun. She would still try and meet with Selena secretly. Selena only stayed in touch because this killer had important documents that belonged to her. She knew too much of Selena's boutiques (her personal business away from the music). At one time when she met the killer outside a restaurant parking lot, the killer showed Selena the gun that she had bought. Selena got scared and asked why she had that and she replied, "for protection." The killer later went and returned the gun to the store where she had bought it from. But 3 days later went back and re-bought it. On Thursday night, March 30th, the killer called Selena and told her that she was in town and had the boutique documents with her. She told her to come over and get them, that she was at the Days Inn hotel. Selena and Chris (her husband) went to get those documents. Chris waited outside while Selena went inside the hotel room. The door was cracked opened and after a while Chris approached the door and could see them talking, inside. He never knocked or went in. Selena finally walked out with a briefcase. Selena shared with Chris that the killer told her that the killer was sexually molested in Mexico and she showed her bruises and scratches that she had on her neck. These things appeared to be something she did to herself. Upon inspection of the documents, at home, Selena realized that not all the documents were there. The killer, purposely kept half of the papers solely to have an excuse to see Selena again. Selena calls the killer and asks about the rest of her documents and the killer says, "oops, yes, I have them here. They were in another folder. You can come and pick them up." Selena did not go right away, though. It was late at night. Selena left early, Friday, morning- March 31 to see the killer again at the hotel. Selena ended up taking the killer to the hospital to get her checked out because of the apparent rape but they informed Selena that the woman was lying and that none of these things that she claimed were true. Selena never believed them. Her loyalty was with the killer. She trusted her but was beginning to see bit by bit the façade behind a killer. Apparently, on the drive back to the hotel after leaving the hospital, they had a rough discussion/argument. Selena approached her about everything and the lies. They arrived at the hotel room and the heated discussion continued where Selena removed a ring that the killer had given her. The killer takes out the gun and before Selena hands the ring over, the killer points the gun at her. I'm assuming with the typical mindset "who do you think you are trying to fire me and giving me a gift I gave you? You are nothing without me. I decide when it is over!" Selena clutches the ring in her hand, turns around, heads towards the door and is shot on the back. Selena ran the long way around the property before getting to the lobby of the hotel. She lost a lot of blood and collapsed as she entered the lobby. She did managed to name her killer and the hotel room. When the first responders showed up and tried to revive her, they did see Selena lose a grip and release the ring she had been clutching. When Selena arrives at the hospital, she is pronounced dead. The hospital induced her to all possible emergency treatments/surgeries to save her life but without success. Her family arrives at the hospital and are told that she was dead on arrival and that they did transfusion of blood because it is a policy to save a life at all costs with or without consent. In the meantime, the killer tried looking for Selena in the property after being heard calling her a "B****". The killer still had the smoking gun in her hand. She went inside the room and covered the gun with a white hand towel and tried leaving the premises. By this time the police had already been notified and they had barricaded the exits to the property. As the killer tried leaving, she was blocked. She ended up putting the gun to her head, while the police tried to convince her to surrender, which she did after 9 hours. The rest is history.

They got into a heated argument and Yolanda pulled out a gun and said she was going to kill herself. As Selena was leaving, she opened the door and Yolanda shot her in her shoulder (Yolanda claims it was an accident, but it seems unlikely). Selena ran to the lobby to get help and the employees called 911 and she died since she bled out. That whole day Yolanda sat in her car surrounded by cops and she had the gun to her head saying she was going to kill herself.
