Selena grew up looking up to disco and 80’s singers (music in english) but her father realized that Selena needed to cater to people who look like her (Mexican-American) so he encouraged her and her siblings to do Mexican music even though they didn’t speak Spanish. When she succeeded, they started to venture in the english language (she released two ballads in english). Then, she passed away. We can’t imagine how far she could’ve made it and it saddens me. So PLEASE react to Dreaming of You by Selena!

SELENA has released more than two songs in English plus unreleased songs in English. Her second language was Spanish. She learned Spanish at a very early age but she first sang in English. Check out her 'Feelings' cover as a child. Also as a teenager she performed some famous English songs in English. Check out her Janet Jackson cover 'What have you done for me lately'.

The sad part of watching these videos of her is to know that she could have been one of the biggest artist of all time, while she was still ALIVE and knowing that she was getting ready to do her crossover to the English speaking audience, if I remember correctly she had her English album ready just putting the finishing touches on it and I think she was gonna release it later that same year she was murdered. Her career was definitely cut way to short. With her musical talent and charisma she could've gotten way bigger than today's Beyonce or Lady Gaga and that is a fact! She was already a Queen in the Latino community.

That’s actually her last concert which is why it’s so memorable. Her outfits were designed by her she was such a good designer. She had actually started a fashion line which stayed ruining for a while after her death but it doesn’t exist anymore 😩 we love Selena 💕

Her last concert was March 19 1995 in bryan texas. This was her last huge televised concert cause she also performed March 8 1995 on the padrisimo which was televised also her last time on the padrisimo show. But after this Astrodome she had a couple last concerts before she sadly died!!!

sarah zeppelin no its a different stadium now, they don’t use the astrodome anymore they use the NRG stadium and their thinking about turning the astrodome into a theme park now.

Her dad was Mexican American as well. This is the Tejano scene is Texas. Songs are sung in Spanish. Just FYI. 😊

That quiet pause at the end when you both realize what Selena was about ! My eyes get watery every time with her disco medley... something about that intro at the Rodeo Thank you so much for this video.

On behalf of the friends and family of Selena we want to thank you again for your beautiful reaction to her music we would like to give a recommendation of a reaction video of her to the song called captive Heart you can definitely hear how unique she was and her range of vocals was phenomenal and endless if you're ever in Corpus Christi Texas please come by the Selena Museum and we will love to give you a tour

No one could cover these classic songs like she did, she died when I was 13 and I still get chills watching her perform all these years later!!

As long as we all keep listening and loving her singing and performances, she will still be alive!!!

This is the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo ... very big deal! Runs for 6 weeks with the winning Cowboys advancing to the next big Rodeo competition, with the biggest being in Montana. For 6 weeks, a new music artist performs at the end of the night. If you are booked for this...you’ve made it! I was at this concert. No autotune, no vocal help, pure talent! Selena had mad breath control.

Wow! Selena had such a wonderful voice.

The best thing we all can do for Selena it's to never stop playing her music. Thanks for doing this video!

This is the Houston Rodeo Stock Show; artists perform full concerts after the rodeo is done. She broke attendance records at the Houston Astrodome 3 times in a row during these performances in 1993, 1994, and 1995. Each show had around 60K in attendance.

Missing my baby is another good song by Selena. She made a crossover album into English this was one of the songs. Before that album all her music was in Spanish. P.S. another excellent Mexican artist is Juan Gabriel he was a singer songwriter, and composer he wrote over 1,800 songs sold over 100 million albums. Hasta Que Te Conoci is one of his biggest hits I would love to see your reaction to this song.
