Secrets Cracker Barrel Doesn't Want You To Know

Ойын-сауық

Oh Cracker Barrel - the old timey restaurant that will give you all the fried chicken and biscuits you could want. They might seem like the safest, and even most boring, restaurant around, but this chain has so many embarrassing secrets that we have to imagine they’re trying to get shut down. The restaurant and store has discriminated against (deep breath) the LGBTQ+ community, Black employees, the homeless and veterans, female employees, the deaf and hard of hearing, and even the late country music star George Jones (after his death). Let’s take a look at some secrets Cracker Barrel doesn’t want you to know.

Kraft food is par of PFC Dist which Ships to CBOCS and O'Charley's I have to say...This is one of the many crazies CBOCS Canned possibly because she was fired or she quit because shes a smoker and they recently banned employees smoking in and around the barrel in 2012..Cracker Barrel is just like any other place to go and eat..We also had bad Bosses whom were caught and let go and our barrel is a much better place without them... So MASHED you are load of BULLSHIT...And was your Next job McDonalds? Ive been with the company for over 10 years..And Im going to take care of OUR Guests..Because thats what we do

I was fired back in late 2018 as a dishwasher for 'insubordination'. Here's the scenario: Had a 24 y.o. assistant manager that thought he was the reincarnation of R. Lee Ermey's Gunnery Sergeant Hartman...I doubt if he had ever been in the Cub/Boy Scouts, I know by his own previous admission he had NEVER served in the military. He got in my face one day over a couple of dishes I dropped and broke, giving me holy h3ll about it. He basically ended his tirade with how worthless I was and how I was nothing compared to his accomplishments as a CBOS manager. He then made the mistake of asking me what I ever accomplished in my life, to which I replied in a loud (was told later by a waitress friend I was heard loud and clear in the dining room), but respectful tone: "Unlike you, sir, I served 22 years in the US Army and have actually worn a military uniform for other than show and tell. I retired with E7 (Sergeant First Class) stripes, 2 purple hearts and a Bronze Star with 'V'' device. Now if you'll excuse me, dishes are backing up and I need to get back to work." I was called into the office about 30 minutes later to be 'let go'. Gotta say, was the only time in my life I actually thanked a place for firing me.

Well I believe they should straighten up as a whole. My daughter was let go because supposedly another employee said "I heard her say a swear under her breath." My daughter was never asked if it was true or false. At the time she was the only African American female working with several Caucasian employees. We believe this was just something they said to get rid of her when we asked for prove or documents supporting their claim we were never given it. They merely said my daughter could now email her side of the made up story. I guess the employee who heard her "say a swear under her breath" never really existed. After watching this I feel as though we too should get a lawyer. I would not even trust my daughter to email such people anything, those people can not be trusted at all.

Cracker Barrel is a private company, and may hire or fire whom they will. End of story. They have a couple of irritating practices, such as requiring their cashiers to try and hustle more sales at the register (Candy bar of the day.. or some other item.. it's low class, and most cashiers hate doing it.. as well, most customers resent it, feeling that it cheapens the whole 'down home' experience they're trying to promote). But the food is good.. and for the most part, the service is outstanding. Like all businesses, they understand that it simply costs too much to keep running off employees - they must 'compete', in a sense, to retain the good ones - and they offer a number of programs to help employees grow in their positions and pay. If I were working in a place as busy as a Cracker Barrel dish room.. I would not be happy about working with someone I could not communicate with. That's a lot of glass and china flying around on a wet floor.. sometimes you need to be able to give direction and have it followed instantly. And it has NOTHING to do with 'not liking' deaf people.. it's simply a matter of "Not every person is suited to Every job". If you can't communicate with your co-workers - game over.

Unfortunately, it is not unusual for a company to layoff a worker right before a raise is due. I put in 5 years as an assistant manager at a grocery store chain in my area and when it came time for my yearly review and raise (which would have been substantial as it was a 5% yearly raise) they called us to the office and told us were laying off myself and a few other managers that were also due for a raise... when we pressed them for an explanation because all of us were upstanding employees with no issues, they said it was “financial reasons.”

A lot of businesses have problems. Some problems can be stirred up by competitors. As long as they have a clean place with good food at a fair price and good service that's all I need, unless they have bad health department reviews consistently. Cracker Barrel has always had outstanding prices and food. I've never had a bad meal there. In my opinion one of their best values is the sirloin steak meal. Steak, drink(all you can drink), 3 sides and corn muffin and/or biscuits. Most places at or slightly above 15 bucks. Been eating at them in different states for 10 years and I have no complaints about any of them.

I was 17 years old working until 11-12 o’clock at night. EVERYTHING fell on the servers. I confided in my managers about personal things that were happening in my life and told them I was having a rough time so mentally ill it was making me physically ill. My managers didn’t want to hear anything about it and told me to suck it up and get back on the floor while throwing the whole shift. They don’t care about their employees. They care about making money and they don’t care who’s feelings they hurt or dreams they have to crush to get their money. Worst place I have ever worked.

very true. all of it's very true and other stuff is you can tell corporate all you want about the disgusting things you see there but they won't do anything about it. they don't care. My store got shut down by the health department. and then it opened back up without a license illegally. then the fire marshal came along and noticed it was open and they shut it down but for different reason. fire code violations that they wouldn't fix. serious ones blocked fire exits stuck closed doors that were locked shut. non-working emergency lighting systems and fire suppression systems to stop the grease fire from exploding and taking bunches of lives at once. I quit before the store started going through opening and shut down opening and shut down wars between the government officials and corporate. corporate would keep opening it. government would keep shutting it down for safety concerns. All they care about is money, money, money. never seen a company this corrupt yet.
