Huge Secrets Fast Food Restaurants Tried To Hide

Ойын-сауық

Most popular fast food chains have been around for a few decades, so it’s not too surprising that they’ve landed in some hot water over the years. We might not want to think about it when we’re just grabbing a burger and fries on-the-go, but if you really want to know the truth about some fast food joints, it gets pretty dark. Many of them have secrets that they’d rather their loyal customers not know about, like the restaurant founder who absolutely hated their recipe. Let’s take a look at a few big secrets that fast food restaurants have tried to hide.

Former Domino's employee here. The pizza tracker itself isn't the issue. It's actually fairly accurate. The issue is managers clearing orders off the screen before they're made to improve their times.

Same here for pizza hut. And clearing those orders result cutting back delivery times, of which more orders come in, and managers again clearing it off before it even leaves out the door. It's a vicious cycle.

Yep. Similar story with drivers clocking out their delivery runs before they actually leave the store. Drivers would clock out early and as a result the tracker would tell customers their order had arrived before it actually did.

@@sree101 not sure about 1968 gravy, but when I worked there in the 80s, I always thought it was delicious. I don't think they make it that way anymore. It may vary by franchise, so for all I know, we made it the original way. It could not have been overly healthy. It started the day before when we would drain and filter the oil from the original recipe pressure cookers. All the sludge (flour, chicken fat, and the 11 herbs and spices) left from the oil was scraped into a strainer and left out over night. It was a dry cake when we would come in the next day. We would add water to it until the consistency was right, and, viola, awesome gravy! I never gave much thought to the fact it was basically made from a left over greasy sludge, but always wondered about the (food health) safety of leaving it out draining overnight.

I was a manager at Panera. And I can tell you that the soup is the same soup you can get from any where. It comes in frozen. It is provided from the distributor. Meaning anyone who orders soup from the distributor gives the same exact soup to all companies. All the meat is the same meat you get at the store. The chicken salad and tuna salad comes in a big tub from the distributor. All pastries and bagels come in frozen. Bread is the only thing that comes in fresh. They do make their own bakery items but is shipped to the store every night. But everything is no better than any store bought brand. You are paying for the fancy packaging and what the restaurant looks like inside. That is it. It is a big rip off.

I worked in a convenience store chain that is beloved in the midwest (Kwik Trip/Kwik Star). It's a great company, don't get me wrong, but one of their big claims to fame is freshness. They do have their own dairy facilities and ship their cold sandwiches to stores the day their made. But all of their bakery stuff and take and bake pizzas are shipped in frozen. All we did with the donuts was that and frost them. A lot of customers think that everything is made in store, but it most certainly is not. Sadly, most chain places are this way anymore.

Thanks for pointing that out. Too many forget that putting biodegradable items in landfills or even incinerators *helps* to dampen the effects of all the non-biodegradable materials that are in there, either by attracting microbes and bacteria to help break it down, or adding oxygen and other safe minerals/natural chemicals to bind things up when superheated.

My brother works at Panera and I already knew about the Mac and cheese and soup. It’s more efficient. And about the bakery items not being fresh, that may be true for smaller locations that don’t have sufficient appliances and such, however at his location everything is made fresh daily, and they throw out items that weren’t used every few days.

I hated working at panera but the only frozen item in the bakery counter is the coffee cake, everything else is baked the late night before they open

So, Starbucks is on here twice..Not surprised! You could probably make an hour video about ALL the behind the scenes stuff THEY do! Chik-fil-a is NOT gonna back down from their stance against gay marriage, which is hard to find in ANY company!! I support them 100% and am glad the didn't decide to "cave in" just because it would fit other people's needs. In the end God's determine everything any way, sooooo.....

Fast food companies buy their cups, wrappers, straws etc. from the companies that manufacture them. The fast food retailers are in the business of making food. Some young "green preaching" college graduates should stop telling others what to do and do it theirselves. Then, if they can make these recycled and recyclable products, they can sell them to the fast food chains.

We were supposed to be getting a Chick-fil-A about 2 miles from here when a legendary drive in spot EL-kens closed but Aholes got butt hurt and they made it another Verizon store , the last thing we needed , and they had to settle for a spot at the international airport, also about 2 miles away but who the hell wants to go to the airport for food ? No1 that’s who Chewowa dogs were eaten by the Mayan, Don’t worry about McD ice cream , they can’t be bothered to clean the machine so they never usually turn it on in the first place

as an ex Domino's delivery driver I can say whenever I work there most everybody tried to provide the best product that could be I live in gun barrel City Texas and I can say that for the most part you do not have to worry about the quality of your food there are some sketchy people that work at some of these places as far as delivery time sometimes it takes a little while if it's extremely busy and there's a lot of traffic if you order on any night between 5:00 to 7:00 it's going to take a little longer because of traffic time traffic lights that's just the reality I've had people order and I've gotten it there within the 30 minutes knocked on their door several times it's called them and then they finally answered their door and say oh I was in the bathroom or I forgot I ordered a pizza okay if you're calling and having food delivered how do you forget that you did that what are you smoking most people are very nice and appreciate you getting them food they're tired from work and they want fresh hot food on a side note always tip the driver but watch out for the sketchy ones hope you all enjoy and as these other videos pop up about food I've worked in the restaurant industry many years and I'll comment and give tips
