The entire world making jokes about Taco Bell giving you digestion problems always made me feel like I was going crazy. In my experience, Taco Bell is by far the least likely fast food joint to upset my stomach. My friends just laugh at me when I say that and I feel like Ralphie on Santa’s lap in a Christmas Story as they mock me. I’ll assume any likes on this comment imply that you agree with me and are much appreciated. It will make me feel less insane.

TBH same here especially since most fast food places base their meals around sandwiches, bread and breaded fried products which don't get along with my stomach so Taco Bell tacos are always a safe bet for me if I have to eat fast food.
@RinnyMiqo

100% agree with you and i worked for em xD. Tbh its really the beans that upset some people, that and sometimes the beef. Depends on their digestive system. Haven't had anyone have issues in our restrooms either and i had to clean those things.. so idk where it even came from xD. TacoBell is the only thing i could eat for months as my only meal for the day without having issues so, theres that too

the joke and stereotypes come from white people unable to handle beans. Most white people don't eat real Mexican food so when they eat taco bell, the fiber gives them movements. It mainly comes from the mid west and east coast people who don't have real Mexican food.

Sonic will have me on the bathroom a few times the next day. McDonalds will absolutely destroy my stomach. But Taco Bell never really messes with me. In fact, I have to eat a whole lot of it with diablo sauce to actually make my stomach upset. But, I guess that would apply for any food items really.
I rarely eat fast food but my favorite menu item at Taco Bell is the Nacho Belle Grande. My late husband who came from the former USSR told me that the joke over there was which fast food restaurant wasn't invited to open over there - Taco Bell - because they once had a tag line that said "Run for the border", and Soviet authorities didn't want their citizens getting any ideas about running for the borders over there.

The Nacho bell grande used to be my favorite years ago before they stop using green onions because of the E-COLI issue back in the 90's. I also remember the chips and cheese being better quality. Now I frequently make my own at home. Seasoned ground beef refried beans tomatoes, green onions and jalapenos on a bed of warmed yellow corn tortilla chips and the ONLY salsa con queso you should EVER use... TOSTITOS brand salsa con queso.

Not a Taco Bell story, but my mother and aunt were also from the former Soviet Union. When they were young girls, they were among the first customers to wait in line for the opening of the first Moscow McDonald's in 1990. Customer service was never really a thing in the Soviet Union, so the Russian managers and supervisors who had been hired to work at McDonald's and learned about greeting customers were obsessed with getting it right. On Day 1, they would correct workers if they didn't smile and say exactly what they were supposed to. My mom and aunt joked that after they moved to the States, they didn't ever get quite that good of customer service at McDonald's ever again!
What about the Doritos Locos Tacos chips? Chips inspired by a taco which was itself inspired by chips... which were inspired by nachos. Also was expecting some info on the semi-exclusivity of Baja Blast.
Even though I live somewhere that I can get authentic Mexican tacos, I still crave me some Taco Bell sometimes.

This was a really good video, Weird History! Speaking of tacos, everyone knows about Jack In The Box's [in]famous tacos, but not enough talk about the history of the restaurant. While Jack was always the mascot [except in the 80s], it wasn't until the 1970s that he became a full-fledged character. He also had a group of friends: Onion Ring Thing, Hamburgermeister, Small Fry, Secret Sauce Agent, and The Shakes [a milkshake band]. They were called the Jack In The Box Bunch and had a TON of merch during the 70s. The most popular were the bendable buddies. Another tidbit: the JITB Bunch were voiced by Paul Winchell, better known as Tigger from Winnie The Pooh. Honestly, Jack In The Box's history in general is interesting [ it was briefly renamed Monterey Jack's in the 80s], but I find not enough people talk about Jack In The Box's 70s characters and ads. Also, they roasted Mcdonald's before Wendy's did [with the Watch Out Mcdonald's slogan]. I'm a 2000s person but I've always prefered 1970s/1980s/1990s commercials, which is how I found out about various advertising mascots.

Mostly meat and veggies. The sodium will get you every time everywhere, but in terms of nutritional content...way better than a big mac slathered in sauce for sure...
I worked as a Mgr at Taco Bell for about 4 yrs in my early 20s. When I 1st started, we cooked and seasoned the ground beef. About halfway thru, we started getting the boil bags of the precooked/preseasoned meat. We also cut and cooked the nacho chips, taco shells , pizza shells, salad bowls and cinnamon twists. I remember going to Taco Bell regularly in the mid/late 70's. There were three Fred Meyers shopping centers in Salem, and each had a Taco Bell right nearby. Back then, they had a very limited menu -- taco, green sauce burrito, red sauce burrito, and a few other things, but my mom liked the first three because they were each 33 cents. We were allowed $1 each; plus a drink, she could buy lunch for herself and three kids for very little money. ^_^ It's kind of amazing how simple Taco Bell was back then, and how it developed into the crazy menu that they have had for the last 20-30 years.

I've been in love with TB since I was a teen. I've never had any digestion issues with it. Heck, I just had some a couple days ago. I'm excited that a Taco Bell is coming to the area I moved to finally!
Also when Taco Bell first opened in my neighborhood, on the menu board, they included a pronunciation key after each item that my friends and I thought was hysterical. Things like: Burrito (burr--EE-toe). They also had an item that was basically a sloppy joe (tie to that previous video) but with their taco meat on it. It was called the Bell Beefer. I ordered it once almost on a dare and could barely order it without laughing. It wasn't around long, probably because they were wasting too many hamburger buns. And finally -- no mention of the Taco Salad? That was around for a long time, because if you put the word "salad" on it, it must be healthier, right? Basically the same ingredients as everything else but in a large almost open clamshell taco shell. They briefly tried a seafood taco salad that didn't last long at all. Then there was the discontinuation and return of the Mexican Pizza. Again, you could easily do a second video on Taco Bell to cover all of these things and others.

Do they use Kangaroo meat or Wombat meat? Perhaps the Tasmanian devil. Sir would you like to try our new bush tucker taco?
I lived in Mexico (including Monterrey) and was told thar Taco Bell was banned there. Many Mexicans feel insulted by the gringo taco. The negative effect of TB (not tuberculosis) on Mexican food is that the chain takes real names of Mexican foods and then recreates some similar tasting abomination that does not resemble the real food. Most Americans (and Canadians) don't know what a real chalupa, gordita or quesadilla is. Most people around the world thinks that the quesadilla (thanks to Taco Bell) is cheese melted between tortillas when it is more like a stretched footlong taco filled with meat, veggies, cheese and topped with squash flowers. I lived in Monterey; and ate at every mall food court in that City; and I don't think that Dairy Queen exists in thar City anymore. I probably walked by the location where it used to stand.

I live in the Chicagoland area and when the Bulls were killing it in the 90s Taco Bell sold a Bulls burrito. I don’t remember much from it, other than it contained rice. But I do remember loving them.
The Mexican Pizza is my favorite menu item!!!
You're making me HUNGRY! Love your videos.
Great video. Lot's of fun to watch. You get my subscription.
The 7 Layer Burrito is my fave; it has been my comfort food after many of night of alcohol indulgence. Back in da day.
This channel is pure gold
The all time best item they had was the shredded chicken burrito, it had rice in it. I think it was like a buck at one point. Best item on the menu and they just took it away, they discontinued it in like 2010 or 2011, something like that
I’m very fond of the plain quesadillas at Taco Bell. The enchiladas were delicious; I really miss them. I’m also a fan of their nachos.
In the 90s or early 00s, they had a bacon cheeseburger burrito that was awesome -- of course, anything with bacon automatically becomes better. Taco Bell hasn't been the same for me since they got rid of it. Also, I was surprised you didn't include the short-lived "Border Lights" menu from around that same era -- supposedly healthier, lower-calorie items. It didn't last long, but I remember the ads with Robert Stack -- then host of Unsolved Mysteries -- who would narrate the ads like it was an episode of the show. Things like "The calories were gone . . . but where did they go?" They also ran ads with Charlie Sheen narrating and talking about "pepper jack cheese." You could easily do a Part 2 of this video with things that weren't in this one.

The end of XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito was the end of me.
In 1998 when I was 19 years old I worked graveyard shift for a new Texaco gas station in Fairview, Oregon on the weekends. They had an A&W and Taco Bell built into the station. In order to get more hours, the manager offered me a position with the Taco Bell section… needless to say I lasted one day before I quit. However, I learned a few things… EVERYTHING came in sealed plastic bags. So on my graveyard shift I drank unlimited A&W root beer on tap. Also, I may have taken a bag of Taco Bell meat and Nacho Cheese home with me. My girlfriend and all our friends couldn’t eat it all in a week and the rest pretty much went to waste. It took me about 5 years before I’d eat Taco Bell again.
These videos are great, never change your voiceover guy!
1:06 Also San Bernardino, just like McDonald's!! Must be the ultimate place to start a fast food company.
That taco bell Batman cup is definitely still in circulation lmao
I feel the same thing for taco Bell as I do for Jack-in-the-Box. When it’s 2 AM and I’m either drunk or High …
I’m sorry. I was a Taco Bell employee in the late 1970s. That beef was real beef. Locally sourced and weighed before and after cooking to guarantee its fat content. Only thing added was a spice packet Taco Bell branded. Pinto beans in bags. Cooked I pressure cookers with salt lard and water. Taco shells were fried onsite daily. My first job there. All the produce was sliced and diced on site. Even the cheese was in 40lb blocks. Locally sourced and grated daily on site. That poor Hobart ran day and night keeping everything stocked.
My Taco Bell Item hasn't been on the menu in 30 years. It's the Bell Beefer. I did manage to have one made for me in Eloy, AZ at a combo Taco Bell /A&W. The Manager had never heard of it, but business was slow and she produced my combo. Then had one for herself!
10:55 when it comes to Guantanamo bay in movies, the Harold and Kumar movie always comes to mind instead of tom cruise's one. Maybe this channel can make a video on Guantanamo bay's famous cockmeat sandwiches 🤣
I love me some Taco Bell. My favorite is the old standby - the hard shell taco. They're so damn good.
I miss the Baja Chalupa Supreme! That was THE BEST hands down! I do love the Supreme Hard taco. Even living in an area that has THE BEST mexican food in the world, I just cant get past the flavor and nostalgia on Taco Bell!!
Let’s see some history of In ‘n’ Out Burger! Love these!
I am Canadian and I remember those Johnny Cash commercials in the 90s. At that time, ATM machines were actually pretty rare and I only seen a few in my life. After the Johnny Cash commercials, I thought that every ATM machine was called a Johnny Cash the same way that a toilet was called a Johnny on the spot. I remember calling ATM machines Johnny Cash for years thinking if that was the real name for them!
@8:50 you can see Johhny Knoxville from Jackass in a Taco Bell commercial before his big break. That's history!
I’ve always been an avid bean burrito fan. I do try other things from time to time but have loved the bean burrito since the late 1980s
My favorite Taco Bell items are the Fiesta Potatoes, the Nacho Fries, the Cinnamon Twists, and the sadly discontinued Grilled Stuft Chicken Burrito. I also really loved the Mexican Pizza.
I used to do tech support at a company Yum did business with - I often had to access some of their servers remotely, and they all had a background with the slogan "Why be good when you can be Yum!"
Taco Bell in the 1980s was still ok for late night food. Even better as a young kid in the ‘70s. Wow I’m over the hill
The Beefy 5-layer has been a guilty pleasure of mine for so many years.
I was disappointed you didn't get the Godzilla ad in there " here lizard lizard lizard. I think I'm going to need a bigger box ".
When I lived in Japan, I seriously missed Mexican food and Taco Bell badly.
I had no idea my bank once did a JohnnyCash machine promo. That's awesome.
Growing up in the '80's my cousins and I couldn't get enough of the bean & cheese tostadas. The recent return of the Mexican pizza and Crunchwrap both made up for that one forgotten piece of history.

I loved the Mexican pizza and the politically correct removal was nuts. Glad they’ve brought it back.

I loved those tostadas. They had the right flavor compared to a bean burrito at times.
My favorite taco bell food items is hands down the half pound cheesy potato burrito. $2 for a half pound of food. That absolute biggest bang for your buck. Not to mention it was delicious. Really wish they kept it around. Even if they hiked the price on it.
