Cracker Barrel To Pay $9.4 Million To Customer In Lawsuit
Ойын-сауық
The restaurant industry as a whole has had a hard time adapting to the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic, but one restaurant chain just got a major blow for a reason that's reported to be entirely of its own making.
Cracker Barrel CEO Sandra Cochran revealed last September that 2021 was one of the company's most challenging years ever, but 2022 isn't looking much better.
Cracker Barrel has been ordered by a Tennessee federal trial court to pay a $9.4 million judgment to customer William Cronnon, who reportedly suffered permanent injuries after the restaurant served him tainted water. Here's the true story behind what's forcing Cracker Barrel to pay $9.4 Million to a customer in a lawsuit.

That’s an OSHA violation, I do believe. Cleaning products should be clearly marked as such and there are supposed to be Material Data Sheets on hand to reference proper use and storage. It’s truly sad that the man was injured that way.

Cracker barrel isn't that stupid. That's a employee related problem. Restaurant shouldn't be responsible for crimes perpetrated by rogue employees.

By the way cleaning products come labled . They don't magically appear on shelves without then. 🙄
At first the victim only wanted $150,000!! Wow what a jump!

Lawyor got paid. Thats what that was all about
Entirely reasonable judgement! While working for the Navy I was in the cafeteria for lunch. Another worker I never knew got a cup of what he thought was coffee from a coffee urn. He took one sip and started screaming. Not much later that day, he died. It turns out the urn was being cleaned with quick lime and was in the cafeteria not back in the kitchen where it ought to have been. So the one who won the judgement was lucky to have survived. Needless to say, safety procedures got upgraded after that.
I went to one for the first time in my life in NC. We waited 20 minutes after they got our info. Was told it would be another 45 minutes when we checked again. I don't think I'll be heading back to one.
Just imagine if that was a child ! Horrible situation. Pay up CRACKER Barrel …
The employee who put it in the water pitcher should be charged

Yep. U should put any chemicles in red or green buckets not a pitcher u use Dailey
Eco-San is a very strong chlorine bleach meant for use in Dish machines through a metered dispenser. It should never be free poured. Also if soaking fountain heads to sanitize they should be in a clearly marked red sanitizing bucket.

Brad’s wife would’ve kept everything sanitized

I freaked out because a bartender served me a glass of wine with fresh red lipstick on rim. Just imagine if this would’ve happened to me?
I haven't eaten at Cracker Barrel since the early 90's, jus never really cared about their menu offerings. So this judgment has no effect on me eating there but the store manager's, general manager & district manager for the area should have been fired for lack of training employees on proper procedures for cleaning & sterilizing utensils & etc.
This wouldn’t have happened if brad’s wife still worked there

Maybe the lawsuit was warranted in this case.
Damn from 2014? I hope CB doesn't close from this afterwards.

That's very awful 😠😠
Smh. That's why I never drink water or anything out of the tap from restaurants.
Everyone is gonna get a $6 check because it’s allegedly so many that signed up. Lol
Went once when one came to our city. The food was bland, cold, and utterly mediocre. Never been back and never plan to.
You know, this wouldn’t have happened if… I’ll stop.
Nobody deserves 9.4 million for any thing.
This sounds like a legitimate case. The company detective may have cameras on this guy all the way up to the appeal, to show what kind of health he has. How many cases will there be when people bring in small vials of cleaning fluid and pour it in their coffee? After a hot coffee lawsuit at McDonalds, people were suing McDonalds over hot pies, etc., even suing them over McDonalds food making them fat.
Why does a restaurant chain have to cover the injury thst a hired employee did ? Makes absolutely no sense. You cant put a watch dog on everyone in a restaurant to make sure they're not trying to get you sued. The crime must fit the punishment. The dealer should get what the victim got. And the store shouldn't be held accountable. Anyone could wreak a business as long as the're scumbag lawyers out there willing to line their pockets. Its going to get to a point businesses will close because of these lawyers.
Yes lads
why was he the only one ? I would have payed him no attention , something he planned out most likely and took something .
Hold my sándwich.
i love cracker Barrel thank you miss. Mashed
Went there not long ago, yuck! #NeverAgain
First off I love Cracker Barrel I haven’t had it since last august but there’s something about that doesn’t make sense. Soaking soda nozzles in that chemicle. Soda nozzle should be soaked in detergent water not that.
The only thing I buy from Cracker Barrel is their Sharp Cheddar cheese. Real southern grits are made with: bacon fat (1 tsp to 1 tblsp), cayenne pepper (to taste) & cracker barrel sharp Cheddar. This is a recipe from Georgia. (I also add some crumbled bacon, but there should be enough flavor from the fat already) I don't eat there. It's OK but not worth paying for. The decorations & furniture, maybe, if your into that kind of 'country style'. Hearing this lawsuit, I would not eat there for some time now if given the chance. Very bad look, severely crippling an old customer with a glass of water.
Wait, he was going to draw over 9 million dollars in pay?
Haven’t eaten at a CB since I found a large piece of metal in cornbread. I complained about it. Nothing was said or done. Good riddance that’s a willful osha violation. CB is terrible to their employees and customers
👍
Disgusting that they are disappointed from a isolated incident. Bro was served fricken chemicals not water like he ordered. You're disappointed lol no you're company lawyers are f-ed up 2 e even say something like that wtf is wrong with you????
Man that sucks, I love cracker barrel! Good amount of food for the price, and I love their country store, always buy gifts there for my family for Christmas and it's just a beautiful setup and they actually play actual religious Christmas music! Hope something like this won't happen again.
$9.4m?! Not to sound rude, but that seems a bit much.
Not allegedly , they have to pay there fore they did it . No problem with the law suit , don't agree with B.S. law suits , but this is a legitimate one .
