Looks beautiful, I'm watching this from Australia. It's summer here but it was very mild (mid 20c to 30c). The typical Aussie summer normally hits 40c (105f).

And the blizzard hits us again ❄️

I bought a lot up above Belfair. On Feb. 13, I tried getting up the road to it, got stuck on a corner (didn't have chains), and had to back down. Last Monday, the 26th, I finally got up the road. Most of the roads were pretty much clear, but it still looked like winter wonderland at the top. And my lot still had 3" of snow. From what I understand, they had 24+ inches of snow there.

I sure hope we get this again got any ideas of what winter is looking like this year?

Good snow tires...avoid hills if possible on icy roads..take your time ...stay home during storms and blizzards..your welcome from a New Yorker 😊

What blizzard?????

A more accurate title would be "Bellevue Washington Winter Blizzard 2019". This is filmed on the east side of Lake Washington, mostly near the intersection of I-405 and NE 8th St. However, Bellevue is considered to be a part of the Seattle Metropolitan Area, so I suppose the title is still technically accurate.

It’s funny what one area of the country calls a blizzard compared to another. Those poor people. They are really struggling. Luckily this isn’t the norm for Seattle. Probably be a distant memory 10 days from now.

This is the aftermath not the Blizzard and this is in Bellevue (near sea lvl ) for all the people say that not a blizzard.

If you went further south towards Olympia they got almost 2 feet

What you're seeing was just the beginning. We got 30" overnight in the south end of town, and over a foot in the north end. Wet snow, which instantly turned to ice. Lots of suckage. Come play in the shite we get, and then comment on it, 'K?

I'm from Indiana and moved here decades ago. We didn't get midwest snow but rather a good dose of sleet on top of already wet roads which then froze to black ice on steep hills. And that was last weekend. We just got another 8" last night. And Chicago has no hills:))

Me too. It's great fun, great for snowmen and snow angels etc. But the road ice on hills is lethal. Flooding becomes a big problem too, of course, as it all melts. Blocked roads, landslides, etc..

Chicago gets powder snow. I know. Used to live there. This shit is 35 degree, wet crap that turns into ice when you look at it hard. Instant "grease" to drive on. Come play on our hills, sometime....and THEN comment.

That snowfall is nothing and i can see from the comfort of my armchair that there's not much icing involved. Just slush. Also, i know because i live in a place that sees this frequently.

People should buy chains and use them, I thought about pulling people with my Jeep Wrangler, but did not want the liability concerns, they are good and stuck and there is not a car wreck, good that can stay there, I simply engaged 4 wheel drive low and drove around the stuck cars with my (4) off road studded tires.

Forget cold air intakes, tints, or plasti dips lol. Just get winter tires and save yourself time, money and even life(es).

LOL, that is NOT a blizzard. Not even close to it. It's just a light snowfall. A blizzard is when high winds pick the snow off the ground and blow it sideways, creating close to zero visibility. If that was a blizzard, the buildings in the background would not be visible at all, the cars would barely be visible, and deep snow drifts would be forming on the ground. The biggest danger in a blizzard is not ice on roads, but rather the whiteout conditions.

See what I said above to Derek. Tell me: What good are plows that can't get up an iced hill? What good are plows that can't stop at the bottom of the iced hill? Think of the property damage costs alone. Loss of life? Yup, clear risks. The opportunity cost of what you are suggesting is too high. Forgive us for being rational, if you can.

Controlling fishtailing is a major key to keeping control in winter conditions, I'm sure you'll agree. If you can keep control of your back end, your front end ought to be fine. It's not that people 'lost their minds': that suggests someone losing their agency to perform a previously learned skill. These people have not learned. Western WA simply does not experience the same weather and topographical conditions, with anything like the same frequency, as elsewhere., to provide reasonable learning opportunity. That lady, though... said she was from MN? She SHOULD have known her vehicle was not properly winterized. (She did not carry a shovel!?) Generally, if you are unsure if your vehicle is winterized, it's guaranteed not to be. Lots of people get into all sorts of trouble - under a wide variety of circumstances - by making the "I thought it would be okay...." mistake. TIPS: 1) A plastic or metal dustpan makes a decent emergency snow shovel. Frequently, putting MORE snow under the tires can help them; lumpy snow pack provides friction. Slick ice does not. Cover that ice. 2) A car's rear tires may only need to slide 6" left or right to get moving again. Ask for help, and be a helper, we'll all get through it together. ( That line of offramp cars told me no one was helping anyone. #sad )

LOL Nobody is going to waste money buying special tires for something that rarely happens around here. The last real snowfall we had before this one was three years ago, and that was only a few inches that melted in a few days. This was the worst snowfall we've had since 1949.
