Right??? Such a cheap and great resource!
I know this is a year late but I just wanted to thank you for not including garbage, trash or junk in the title of this build. I feel it diminishes the art of scratch building especially when it comes to sci-fi. I’m glad you mentioned that you go to the store to get items, I find that cruising through the hardware store the craft store and even the dollar store provides inspiration for future scratch builds. Thanks again and nice work
@TheSmugglersRoom

you bet Frank! I agree with you. Scratch building is an art form!
Brian, this was great fun to watch - and the other makers joining in added to this. I think your backstory (ha ha, a man after my own heart!), the many details, and the unique maple base, are highlights of this scratch-build.

What you did here is pretty much EXACTLY What the Original Modelers did in the first Star Wars movies! THIS is what's SO FREAKIN' FUN about Model building! Take Different Kits and "Greeblies" and building something that COULD {or SHOULD?!} Exist in the Star Wars Universe! :D
@TheSmugglersRoom

Thanks! That was the inspiration for sure. Love how all those pioneers of kitbashing created those original designs.
Because of this channel, I kitbashed my very own piece just the other day. After a lot of frustration, catching the Rona, and having to start all over once, I turned a Spartan V model into a Destiny 2 Titan/Anthem Storm type thing. I personally think it looks super cool.
@TheSmugglersRoom

What a heap of junk! I love it. Great video and build Brian. Your speeder feels very in universe, like a B-Wing or a speeder from movie 8. My thought is that your engine intakes make the speeder look like it is flying backwards - at least from a certain point of view. The base and scene really work for it and if we could vote for your project I would give it second place, narrowly beaten out by the Jawa speeder. This sort of collaboration is a great thing and I hope to see many more fantastic projects and videos from you.

Hmmm….I’m not sure where my vote went. So, let’s try this again…… 1: Most Creative Back Story. My vote goes out to The Nerdy Maker for his Z77 Super Skiff. Sounds like a story line you’d see in an Extended Edition, or Directors Cut, BluRay release of ANH or ESB. 2: Most Creative Use of Materials. I’m a bit torn here. First off, Wayne Bakken’s conversion of a Cheerios box into Grogu’s new speeder is brilliant. Pretty certain I would not have come up with that approach. Second off, Thomas Marchese’s speeder uses styrene, foam, model parts, and more to make a really cool looking scratch build. I really love the workings under the exposed panels. I think Thomas just edges out Wayne here. 3: My Favorite Overall Speeder has to go to James’ (Rebel Base Build) Sand Searcher. Great back story, amazing scenery, Jawas, and overall build quality. I was completely sold when I saw the sub-miniature greeblies (control panel, droid socket, crates, and more). Brilliant job James.

I really love these kind of videos. Scale builds are amazing and not easy to do... for some. All the builds are fantastic since everyone has their particular touch in them. But I must say that my favorite over all (outside of yours) is Sand Searcher Jawa Speeder by James. You can tell he's into details and that's what I like. The details that make the builds look more realistic. Bryan, thanks for presenting us with such compilation of talents.

I love the build! By the way those citadel paints are just fancy washes. All you need to do is thin down regular paint and you get the exact same effect for a fraction of the cost.
So many amazing builds. I guess I have pick my top 3. Tom Hill with the "Bug Runner " great back story Nerdy maker for best use of materials. My favorite out of all of the builds- Dennis (black market outpost) build with the Corvette amazing job for sure. Definitely awesome work all around.
Fantastic builds from everyone! I gotta say if I have to pick a favorite I’d say James’ is the one that I liked most, it reminds me of something you’d see model makers do back in the 80s and 90s for movie miniatures… it just gave me that vibe, nicely done!

It is hard to choose when everyone put out a great build! But overall I chose number 8, due to the detail and paint job. Besides the Jawa story was a departure from any of the others. The wood base was a bit of a letdown, but I’m figuring you will eventually trade it out for something “other worldly”. Great video!
