The OG movie cast, the OG movie director, comic accurate art style by an incredible animation studio, & an original score by Anamanaguchi?! The people who did music for the game?! This is the ULTIMATE love letter to Scott Pilgrim as a franchise Edit: as hyped as I am for this anime, I was brought to a realization: are they gonna adapt characters that were in the comics, but not the movie? For example: Lisa Miller, Scott’s parents & his brother Lawrence, Joseph (Still’s eventual bf), Hollie (Kim’s coworker), etc. at one point or another they’re all featured in the comics either briefly or prominently, so will they be added to the anime? Also in regards to the Katyanagi twins, the movie features them in non speaking roles which is why they weren’t in the role call in the trailer, I’m hoping they actually give them speaking roles in the anime as well

@@orest323 more like they got everyone under contract again. The Movie is from like 2010 or something. Chris Evans would hit the role of Captain America a year after. So, by now, he is in a very different actor price league. VO is probably a lot cheaper, but still! Schedules are tight for a lot of people so getting this paired up this nicely with everyone is going to be a blast!

Actually, they pulled it off because the OG movie cast has an email chain group chat that is still active to this day. The entire movie cast had such a great time, they all became real world friends, and decided to take a chance on an animated series- for Brie Larson and Chris Evans, this is just a fun side project they get to do to hang with their friends more lmao which hey, im not complaining!!

The fact that they end up splitting apart is evidence to the fact that they aren't, actually. Seriously. This is closer to a parallel universe, reboot, or straight rebuilding of the ip. Than it is to a sequel. By any stretch of the imagination

The split happened in between the two stories and then old Scott went back in time to change things. The only way it would be more obvious is if the creators out right say it’s a sequel.

I don't get why everyone is so mad about the series being a sequel to the movie, I honestly think it's better that this show was original and not a complete remake of the film/comic. Although we thought the action with the exes was between them and Scott, we still got some greatly animated fights, with the extra feel of each ex's resolve with Ramona, which I think was the whole point of the show.

Just finished watching this last night. What a great show. It’s a sequel, re-telling, tribute to and critique of what came before. It’s cute, funny, beautifully animated and, behind all these sardonic Canadians rolling their eyes at each other, has a really wholesome message about moving on from the past.

The first episode felt like a carbon copy of the movie, but it definitely worth to keep watching. What a great love letter to the fans!

It’s crazy cool to see how inspired and in depth all the animation is. They could of just lazily copied the comics exactly, but they’ve redesigned a bunch of the characters and woven in a bunch of elements from the live action movie and video game especially- u can tell there’s a serious amount of passion behind this project just by those details alone. I know, right? It is kind of like with Marvel's What If series - except that Chris Evans and Brie Larson did not sign up to reprise Captain America's and Captain Marvel's voices in that show, but they are still willing to reprise Lucas Lee and Envy Adams because Scott Pilgrim is a much lesser-known franchise for them than their Marvel Captains.

I remember on an interview Chris Evans said Scott Pilgrim was some of the most fun he'd had on set. No surprise to see basically everyone coming back to reprise their roles.

Just came back from watching it. Netflix doea it again. Can't catch a break.

Without spoiling anything, this show is different then the comics and movie. Its still good! But I wish Netflix would have actually marketed it for what it was rather then try to trick people into watching it.

This will have to be the most definitive adaptation of any comic ive ever seen. The orignal cast and director from the movie adaptation comes back, it follows the comic style with superb animation and has music made by the same artist that did so for the videogame. Things went full circle like 4 times

I'm just annoyed that it wasn't what it said it was going to be, whether it ended up good or bad is irrelevant to me, I wasn't looking forward to an adaptation with a twist, I just wanted an adaptation. If they let you know what the show as actually about I'd be intrigued, now I don't care because it's not what I was interested in.

I read the comics a long time ago and loved the humor and style. I liked the live action movie but THIS is what I really wanted for a film/series adaptation. In other words, I'M SO EXCITED!!! 🤩🤩🤩

Just watching this genuinely feels like a childhood dream come true…I’ve been a fan of the series ever since I was in middle school and I’ve always dreamed of it becoming an animated series as a kid and seeing it unfold right before my eyes feels so unreal god I'm so hyped….

It really was way beyond its time. When it first showed I remember my friends thinking it was weird, i liked it though and deeped dive into the comics and wiki. Im glad they kept the live action cast, its hard to re imagine the characters voiced by other people.

I think it's because Scott Pilgrim acknowledges that everyone at the end of the day is equal somehow. Scott is our "hero" but you're allowed to deconstruct him, critique him, or even despise him at times. Ramona is our "heroine" but she is complex, contradictory, difficult to interpret, and overall is quiet. Nobody is ethnic for the sake of being ethnic; Toronto *is* a melting pot and was a melting pot of people back between 2007-2011. Nobody is gay for the sake of pandering or a point; they're genuinely attracted to each other, discover something new about themselves, or just are treated like normal people. Even the "villains" have understandable motivations: selfishness, childishness, jealousy, control, money, etc. To enjoy Scott Pilgrim is to set aside personal prejudice and see how people just exist, and how one action can cause 15 little ripples for others.

this is not scott pilgrim what i was looking for. it's just another alternate dimension where roxy kisses kim and replaced by mentioning pac man to sonic.

Never been so excited for a Netflix anime like this one. This show is gonna be WILD.

Honestly such a power move to get the soundtrack artist for the game, the director and entire cast of the movie, the author of the original graphic novels, and then somehow expand on all of that even FURTHER with design changes here and there to make the show a unique experience from the rest of the Scott Pilgrim media. Anyone that might complain about changes being made to the graphic novel story really has no ground to stand on, it sees the approval of every major name involved with S.P.

Scott pilgrim took off indeed. Took off in the first episode and only came back in the last.

This final trailer shows the passion and dedication that was put into this Scott Pilgrim anime and it really gives me reasons to watch the movie and read the comics so I can understand and enjoy this anime a lot.

The anime studio does such a good job telling the story about young adults I’m excited to see them tell Scott Pilgrim’s story.

This is a whole love letter to the fans who read the comic and seen the movie! Aside from reprising the whole cast, the animation really gets me!

The style of the comics, the cast & director of the movie, the music composer of the video game. It took almost two decades since the comic started, but we finally have the animated adaptation it deserved.

Im always, and forever, going to be a Scott Pilgrim stan and I will never be ashamed. I love the art, i love the movie, the books and the humor is just the greatest. I love LOVE the energy and vibe this story gives off and I'll always be here for it

Anamanaguchi coming back to make the music is so exciting! I loved all of their music created for the Scott Pilgrim game so I could only imagine how heavenly they’ll be in the show!

I really hope Scott is more like he was in the comics, Michael Cera made him an awkward dork that went through zero character growth. Scott in the comics was more confident and sarcastic and grew into a better person, also fingers crossed that Netflix doesn’t cancel this after one season.

I binged this show the day it came out and while I went in there open minded, the writing was really bad. They did not even try to reproduce the spirit of the novels, their underwhelming "reimagining" completely forgetting about the same characters and plot points that were left out of the movie.

Honestly as somebody who knows literally nothing about Scott Pilgrim, I've been watching trailers since the first one and this looks like it's gonna be amazing I may not be able to appreciate the cast, but still, this looks really fun to watch!

Best trailer ever! The Mortal Kombat song, the presentation, the vibes, the nostalgia... I can't wait for this show! My hype for Scott Pilgrim show is maxed out and I have November 17th marked on my calendar.

I really believe (I’m probably wrong though) that Chris Evans had the most funny playing Lucas Lee in the movie more than any other role he’s had 😂 😂 he comes across as genuinely enjoying playing the character briefly and it’s still my favorite role he’s done

I'd be VERY surprised if he didn't have a good time playing Lucas Lee. Did you see when they did the live script read a couple years ago with as many people that could make it as possible? Evans was even there for that in the middle of all his crazy stuff, and he still busted out that ridiculous eyebrow move while speaking his parts again. You could tell he had a lot of fun with it.

They did a great job on this, loved it.

Making this trailer look like it was going to be a really true to the comic adaptation was masterfully played.

Love the original cast coming back for this and I love that a remix of the Mortal Kombat theme was used for this trailer because it’s crazy how well it fits with Scott Pilgrim

When they revealed this trailer at comic con, they said not only did Anamanaguchi make this cover, they even got the original voice of the Mortal Kombat song to say the names.

I absolutely love how everyone is coming back to reprise their role! That’s very fricking cool!

Apperently by takes off they mean leaves in first episode and doesn't come back until the last one...

The addition of the Mortal Kombat theme made it so much better

This trailer looks really promising. I can already recognize some scenes from the comics, but it seems like they also added some original content so I'm really curious to see how the story goes. The action scenes look top notch so I hope they put the same care in the story. If there's one thing I loved about the comics is seeing how Scott and Ramona develop their relationship while also learning to grow after their past mistakes (something that was really missing in the movie). Can't wait to see this!

Can't wait to see Wallace Wells in action again; I hope we get to see more chaotic gay times from him, since he faded into an extra in the original series. I really hope he gets more screentime, especially since Kieran Culkin did an amazing job portraying him in the original adaptation 😆

Just six days left, I’m stoked!

This will have to be the most definitive adaptation of any comic ive ever seen. The orignal cast and director from the movie adaptation comes back, it follows the comic style with superb animation and has music made by the same artist that did so for the videogame.

Its a testament to how much the original cast liked working on the movie that they all agreed to reprise their roles for this.

Finally. An animated remake of a live-action classic.
