'Scott Pilgrim Takes Off' But It's Only Ramona Flowers Changing Her Hair Color
Ah, Ramona Flowers: our teenage dream with a hair color and love crisis.
'Scott Pilgrim Takes Off' but only the moments Ramona Flowers couldn't decide on a hair color and thought, 'Why not all of them?' From her rebellious reds to blues that scream mid-life crisis in advance, she's got them all.
I loved her, you did too. We still do. She ruined hour teenage relationships, we can admit it now, but she's still our first love.

Of all the other fantasy aspects of this series.... The fact that Ramona can bleach and dye her hair everyday without going bald is THE most unbelievable, fantasy esque thing about it.
She must have the toughest hair in the planet. So much decoloration is very punishing for the hair
I think it's a nice detail that they only show her smile and play with her hair with the last one. Insinuates the idea that the reason she changes her hair so much is because she's trying to find something she likes that can be permanent, and that final color combo finally catches her
As someone who frequently dyes their hair (at least 6-10 times a year) She is more than likely using hair color remover which is not damaging on the hair. You can tell because there is no lightening powder in the mixing bowl it’s just a cream.
I knew a girl in highschool that would do something like this. Green, red, purple, you name it. Most of us genuinely didn't know her natural hair color.
I like to think this sequence represents how much time has passed in the show- while I've seen some complaints that the show has odd pacing, in the comics ramona mentions she changes her hair color around every three weeks- this explains how not only the show has so much happen over a much longer time span, but how she isnt actually able to dye her hair every day- plus, in episodes where the plot goes back to back, ramona doesn't dye her hair- since it's only been a couple of days. Just a headcannon I have.
This like having a whole unskippable cutscene where you change your appearance in a game
After all that hairdo, Ramona should open a hair salon.
Its oddly satisfying watching her dye it over and over. Her smile at the end when she mostly uses her natural hair color is especially cathartic!
This is strangely relaxing to watch...
If there's a floating island in the world that's being held in place by a comically giant chain, multiple hair bleaching doesn't seem too outlandish to think about tbh
Touching her hair must be like petting a horse
Me and my friends played a little game where we’d pause the episode and guess the color
Ramona kinda reminds me of my boyfriend, he used to paint his hair every time he was passing through a new phase of his life, it was so poetic that his hair color would match his emotions and thoughts
A personal theory I have is the colors she uses to dye her hair are hints to which ex she'll be talking to in that episode. Ex: Dark and light green = Todd. Or it could symbolize how she's constantly "changing" into a "new person" since she fixes her past mistakes by making it up to each ex, so basically being a better person than the last. Just a thought ofc :]
Apart from Ramona being so pro in changing her hair color, she's also really good in bringing out some ASMR which makes the scenes so strangely relaxing- 😅
watching her bleach it every time is killing me as someone who changes colors often 😭
The last one when she smiles and the song "Scott Pilgrim" song starts playing gives me goosebumps.
Ramona changes her hair color more than I change my clothes.
