SCCA Trans Am at Road Atlanta, 1990.

Tommy runs the V6. Darrin turns his ankle. Sharp runs his 'Father's Oldsmobile'. Dead cars become 'part of the course' after two laps under a local yellow, and drivers remembered where the dangerous places were. Fords are pretty much mid-pack, even with good drivers in them.
Told y'all the tubeframe era TA was fun..

7:45 We have a Spuds sighting! Also, WW2 themed party with 80's music based off the 50's-60s? Guess they were trying to hit all the nostalgia points for that sale.

Randall Dubin, was talking with the guys at work (I work in TV, and I'm the token "car guy") about the current ad campaigns for American cars (Chrysler's "America's Import" campaign in particular). I remarked that a guy my age grew up in the back seat of my dad's US iron..I only switched to imports because I was a sports car guy. I can only imagine how hard it is to sell to the generations after me..because they all grew up in the back seat of a Civic or Corolla! ;)
