"Naranja", as a color, which is also the name of the fruit in Spanish, is far more frequent than "anaranjado".

True, but in some countries, "anaranjado" is used to separate the fruit from the color.

@@ZhangtheGreat That is right, which is why I wrote that "naranja" is far more frequent than "anaranjado". Also, there is at least one country where the color is not called "naranja" or "anaranjado".

No. Not in Mexico. "Naranja" is the fruit, "anaranjado" is the color. In other Spanish-speaking countries they do say "es color naranja".

Well, you have to think about the linguistics here: etymology, semantics, morphology, lexicology, etc. And current usage & changes. The orange fruit is "la naranja". Ex: La naranja que comi era deliciosa. The orange I ate was delicious. The color orange is "color naranja". Ex: El color naranja es mi favorito. (The color) orange is my favorite (color). A noun that is orange-colored is described with the adjective "anaranjado/a", depending on gender. Ex: La flor anaranjada es bonita. The orange flower is pretty. Before the arrival of oranges to Europe there was no word for the color orange in English. They used yellow-red, or some variation, to describe any orange color. Once oranges were introduced, they adopted the name of the fruit as the name of the color. No more yellow-red necessary. (Tho still optional) Likewise in Spanish the name of the fruit, naranja, became the name of the color, both nouns. In Spanish there is the mechanism of adding an ending to the base word for a color to create variations of that color, more or less corresponding to the ending"ish" in English. Ex: Negruzco = blackish. Rojizo= reddish. Verdoso= greenish. Rosado= pinkish. Etc. Anaranjado= orangish. Add another descriptor to get the variation you are describing, ex: claro, ocsuro, pastel, etc. Rojizo oscuro = dark red. Verdoso claro= light green. Anaranjado pastel= pastel orange. In current usage anaranjado as an adjective is falling out of favor. Some people say "it sounds old-fashioned". Naranja is taking its place. So now naranja is becoming an adjective for describing something orange-colored, as well as a noun for the name of the color orange. I didn't mean to be so longwinded.

@@bythebayou5351 The detailed explanation is appreciated. In my case, I was focusing on usage among most Spanish-speaking countries, according to what I have read and heard, given the fact that "naranja" and "anaranjado" appear as synonyms in the "Diccionario de la lengua española" ["Dictionary of the Spanish Language"]. In the Dominican Republic, for example, when talking about the fruit, sweet oranges are called "chinas" more frequently than "naranjas", and other oranges are usually called "naranjas". This is an exception, along with Puerto Rico. If other Spanish speakers hear or read "jugo de china" for orange juice they may not understand or laugh and ask why. It has been explained as a shortened version of "naranjas de la China" (oranges from China). Orange, the color, is called "mamey" by Dominicans, which is a different fruit altogether not called "mamey" in the DR.

When will the podiums be together again so the contestants don’t have to walk so far just to shake each other’s hands or give each other hugs? Why are price is right and family feud back to normal with no social distancing but not wheel, Jeopardy, or let’s make a deal yet? Ken can be near them in the interviews and Jeanne Trebek becomes host too? Like what did you guys never like how it was pre Covid? If you don’t, you suck and have no life.

There is a stair on the stage unlike in Season 30-36, so Ken would had been difficult to get near from them during interviews and overheard unless it was Celebrity Jeopardy! or Jeopardy! Masters finale where all finalists are together with the host.
