Why didn’t he do it? I love Burt, & I’m surprised he never did it. He was stubborn in his early career - entertaining, yet stubborn. But he chilled out in his later years & poked fun at himself. What a legend!! All of them! ❤️

That's what takes it to a whole new level. If you watch the Half-Wits SCTV sketch that was the inspiration for Celebrity Jeopardy, the host (played by Eugene Levy) did it mean. Exasperation works so much better.

I actually remember watching this skit live the night it aired. This was definitely my “golden era” of SNL in my memory, when I was young enough that staying up late on Saturday Night was a special thing and SNL was simply the one and only thing that everyone watched from 11:30pm-1:00am on Saturday nights. I also remember that at this time the show was totally dominated by Darrel Hammond and Will Ferrel - one or both of those guys was pretty much in every single sketch, killing it.

Norm has always been one of my favorite comedians! The first thing I did after I read the sad news yesterday was KZread. After a video (or two, or three, or....?) I was LMAO. It was really odd to be laughing so hard while feeling so sad!

"Threeve" is a line that always makes me laugh among the more popular moments in this particular skit.

A skit running on all cylinders and every line a laugh. One of the greatest SNL skits of all time. RIP TF.

Burt was a fan of this sketch. He was poised to have a sketch where he comes in, punches Norm, and then he acts even stupider. Norm however got fired for no reason and that was the end of that.

I was watching an old episode of the Price is Right and Burt Reynolds was on it...all I could think was "wow, dang, Norm really looked like Burt Reynolds." What a great impression.

Norm as Burt is some of the best character portrayal I’ve ever seen

I lost my mom almost 2 weeks ago and needed something to make me laugh. This was it. Thank you Norm! 💔

Norm McDonald was the writer on this sketch too. One of the great comedians of our time. He never really struck me that way until doing a retrospective of his work after he passed away. Stunning

I don't think any famous person passing has gutted me more than Norm. I loved him so much. He's a card that always stood out from any deck. I never had the chance to meet him but I feel as if a friend has passed away.

A lot of us SCTV fans felt the same way many years ago with John Candy. And John was so, so young. But dying in your early 60's is terrible, too. Especially when you brighten people's days like Norm. The worse things get in the world the more we need comedy as an outlet. I can watch Norm's Kitchener Leslie and Moth jokes over and over. His guest appearances on Conan and Letterman were epic.

Maybe the only death I can think of that hurt me more was Robin Williams. The world is definitely a duller place without them both.

Rest in peace Norm Macdonald Sean Connery, Alex trebek, and Burt Reynolds. The world will never be the same without you great entertainers.

When I heard of Norms passing, the first thing I did was come here to watch some Burt Reynolds on Celebrity Jeopardy. Norm was hilarious, rest in peace.
