It’ll most likely be a direct sequel possibly showing more involvement from Dr Gordon, setting up the more complex traps, and Amanda slowly losing faith in John’s methods giving us her character from the third movie. Not the biggest fan but I tried to follow the story as convoluted as it may get. Nice color on the ascot btw

@@133thefallen What I'm hoping for is for John to make Hoffman and Amanda work together on a game in preparation for Saw III. There's tension and "sibling" rivalry as they have to work as a team putting the game together. It explores the origins of their rivalry and maybe how Hoffman discovered Amanda was there the night Jill miscarried. And Cecilia should play a big part in Amanda growing disillusioned with John's philosophy

I worked on jigsaw and just wanted to say, there was actually a ton of practical gore and effects in the movie, but for some reason they cut a lot of it in favor of cgi.. For example, the spiralizer trap.. You barely see his body get all torn up but there wa s a full lifesize dummy of him and it was gnarly.. his body was completely torn up.. also the dude on the autopsy table, is one of the most realistic looking bodies i have ever seen.. you can see his entire brain and insides. none of that is shown or barely.. not to mention full scenes cut..

@HauntedHippie we filmed it in a month. We even went 4 or 5 days over schedule. And every night was consistently finished around 4:00 in the morning. It was brutal. I have tons of pictures from all of the Saw movies also if you want I can message you on Instagram and talk more about it.

Well, THESE movies didn't wallop me quite the same way they seemed to many other people. But, then again, I'm no virgin to F’d up ultra-violent cinema. I've grown up watching flicks like Pieces, Make Them Die Slowly (Cannibal Ferox), Faces of Death, The Gore Gore Girls, Pink Flamingos, Female trouble, Maniac, New York Ripper, Eraserhead, Henry; portrait of a Serial killer, Blood Sucking Freaks and the sort. And THAT has no doubt sort of soothed the impact for me.

While the Saw franchise isn't a HUGE favourite of mine, it does make happy to know that it was made with love. The cast and crew were clearly passionate about the project and looked to have a lot of fun making it, so that's always nice to see.

The funny thing is, because of the success of Saw, small horror really exploded all around the world, and especially in Australia. If Saw was being shopped around today, it would probably find funding pretty quickly and get made in here. Sure, it would probably be the same budget, but maybe a little more. But I doubt it would have become such a huge series. It would have been a one or a two entry series probably.

Another deep dive. Nice! This series will always hold a special place in my heart regardless of what people say. Despite horror being in an awkward place in the 2000s, seeing them continue to expand upon the original and make a storyline on a yearly basis is what sucked me in [starting with Saw II] and turned me into the massive horror fan I am today. I really hope Kevin and Co come up with ideas for Saw XI. My hopes are that they pick up immediately after X left off (Henry getting kidnapped by Hoffman and put in the trap we see in the mid-credit scene) and bring in characters that exist in the storyline. Maybe have Eleanor [from Jigsaw] as the lead? She's not a cop so that could be a cool approach.

I actually do lowkey ship Adam with Dr. Gordon. And I can’t stress this enough, THANK YOU for calling out these critics . They clearly don’t understand the Saw franchise or horror in general. I love this franchise, especially the first three because, yes, they are genuinely terrifying. Just imagine waking up in a room attached to a trap and being told that the only way you can survive is to mutilate yourself. That’s something that could happen in real life, which makes it even more horrifying. John Kramer and Amanda Young are the horror icons of my childhood, so I have a soft spot in my dark heart for them. And above all, the movies really do pose an interesting question: if you were trapped in a desperate situation, what would you do to stay alive? What would you do if you knew the exact moment of your death? These films have a brilliant philosophy, and I don’t understand why critics can’t see it.

Impressive how this series’s evolve then latest film has earn a great come back without James and Lee involvement. Never get into saw franchise because… well I’m very sensitive to watch the traps scenes, but besides that hearing all the BTS and interviews does sounds interesting like how traps are real life traps, interviews, big turn around development of saw 4, and Ups and downs throughout the franchise. Yes, struggle find the highest for research.😭 I thought your highlight colors look darker but I was wrong about that.

Saw 4 is the one I forget about. Every...single...time. Also, while Saw 6 is one of the better films...certain ones of us think its better for other reasons. IYKYK, haha *coughs*Hoffman*coughs* This franchise is one of my comfort franchises. I can throw any of these on and have a good time. Except maybe Spiral...because UGH Spiral. Chris Rock is just Chris Rocking all over the place and Saw isn't the space for that. Tobin Bell...he's this generations Robert Englund. No one else will be able to ever touch the character of John Kramer, much like no one else could really ever be Freddy Kruger. In 20 years when they remake Saw, and they will, whoever they cast will be at a disadvantage. Some actors just create a character that is iconic and he did that here.

Amazing deep dive! ❤ the ascot!! If you get a chance, you should watch the commentary for Saw 1 with Cary Elwes, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell, it’s the funniest thing ever P.S. you deserve way more subscribers! The amount of work and content you put into your videos is incredible

I don’t put stock in anything critics say. I definitely rather hear what people that are into the same stuff that I am think about movies.

The franchise dive was deep indeed! James wan, Leigh whannell, and Tobin bell would be proud! Love the ascot btw! 🔥 I remember being a kid when the first one came out and was a teen by the time of the seventh movie but never got into these moves until your previous saw rankings and spoiler chats. I feel for Leigh when we was talking about his job haha I don’t hate my job per se lol but I had some kinda medical scare happen at work and I went to the doctor. I’m feeling better now that I’ve been trying to eat a little better haha TMI but I can relate to these anxieties. I love how you called out Leigh for forgetting about how Friday the 13th was OG consistently released movie franchise! But 1983 is the other year in the 80s to not have a new Friday movie released in theaters. Not saying you’re wrong, Leigh is hahaha That’s so cool about C Robert Cargill liking saw 6! You and he are not wrong! But the critics never liked the saw movies, I remember that from back in the day. But Tobins interviews say it all about how they don’t see any of the subtext beyond the gore that they just can’t get over. They kinda just lump these movies together since they forget how bloodless the first one was smh But it’s also weird how the audiences scores on rotten tomatoes favor Jigsaw or spiral over Saw 2 or 6 lol like WTF?! Sometimes even fans get it wrong haha those bad reviews need to be called out but I thought it was great that one of those old review clips you pulled was your own! Don’t lump her in with all those other jerks! Hahaha jk you’ve always been great. I actually laughed out loud when Tobin said the stupidity of people is the thing he fears the most but I agree with him 1000% lol. Even though we’re all human and we make mistakes or make bad choices, we can learn from them and be better. That is, unless you’re stupid or just plain evil. I think that’s one of, if not the reason, John Kramer wants his victims to escape his traps in the hopes that can redeem themselves and appreciate life. Reformation and redemption; but Jesus H Christ did John Kramer have to fuck people up in such gnarly traps!? Hahaha sometimes they’re inescapable but maybe not everyone deserves redemption lol sometimes torture porn could just be poetic justice. Sorry this comment is so long but so is this deep dive lol but I loved every minute of it! Your research and hard work comes across in spades! Shawnee Smith has her cult of Amanda’s and Haunted Hippie has her cult of demon maggot children! Thank you again dear Antichrist!

The critical hyperbole and hysteria to all these movies is so reminiscent of the video nasties crackdown in England in the 1980s. That's how films like the Texas Chainsaw and Evil Dead along with some 80 others got banned and sometimes prosecuted for suspected or imagined youth corrupting obscenity. "I don't have to see, physically, what I know is in that film!"

Also, Saw IV is the worst movie of the original run of films. Saw V is a fun cat and mouse film with a great group trap. This is the only hill I’m willing to die on.
