A very stock decision but stuff like that happens when people let the fear of value overshadow more immediate threats in such grindy games

I forgot this game existed.

That game needed some serious targeted land destruction to deal with Coffers/Stronghold.

Kinda looking for the list if they have one.. I was gonna build a mono B gisela zombie tokens thing but geth has always been on my periphery in the past

Can we get some decklists? Would love to see Geth and Silas/Tymna decklists

Is there a deck list for that Geth? I love him as a commander but struggled to make it work and am reinvigorated by this game

I gotta say mono black decks are exremely frustrating to watch/play against after a certain amount of turns, only due to the Cabal lands and the infinite removal in the form of Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, single target removals and board wipes. You can make a mono black deck, just throw in all the good black cards with no win cons and I guarantee that you will win a surprising amount of times.

I'm pretty sure the second half of Finale of Devastation should resolve eventhough no legal targets are left for the first half, seeing as the spell say "up to three". It can be 0 target creatures.

From Gatherer’s rule entry on Finale of Eternity: 5/3/2019 You may cast Finale of Eternity without choosing any target creatures. If X is 10 or more, you’ll just return all creature cards from your graveyard to the battlefield. However, if you choose any targets and all of those targets become illegal before the spell tries to resolve, the spell won’t resolve and you won’t put any cards onto the battlefield.

@@tsho6131 Thank you! That seems weird to me, but alright. So the correct play would've been to announce 0 targets since he had a sac outlet in play. The more you know!

That Finale fizzle was a big oof moment for Martin, but his comeback with that combo was pretty impressive.

When Ben casts living death at 13:41, why does Max keep his treasure keeper at first (only to sacrifice it to the dictate trigger afterwards)? Shouldn't it have been sacrificed to the living death, since it was on his board when that was cast?

Also I think Max forgot that Tezzeret gives his creatures affinity for artifacts so battlesphere should've only been 1 mana or so

How come Yawgmoth's Vile Offering still resolved the 2nd half of the ability (destroying up to one creature or planeswalker) when its target was made illegal, but the Finale of Eternity did not resolve the 2nd half when its targets were made illegal?

Offering still had a legal target. Finale had no legal targets.

Game needed more boardwipes. ITB on Martin’s board was SIIIIICK.

Is it legal to put Grasslands in a B/G deck?

*Fetch* lands don't have colour identities, but if a land has mana symbols on it then normal edh rules apply.

Wonder how long we have to wait for a Thrasios reprint. Legends was basically the only time they could have, and they didn't.

You can cast the spell without any targets and the secondary effect will happen if x is 10 or more, but if you have chosen targets and all targets become illegal the spell fizzles.

@@gustavomartinsdesouza5548 It is a consistent ruling with how targets are chosen in commander. If there are no legal targets for a spell when it resolves, the spell cannot resolve.

*EDIT* Looks like we did play it correctly. Thanks T Sho! I think you're right. In hindsight that might have been a mistake we made, but thankfully I don't think it changed the outcome all that much. Just made the game go a bit longer?

Ben doesn't really do lists, and the rest have since been disassembled and most likely deleted.

Didnt Ben get Emrakul out on the end step? Meaning why didn't he kill Martin with it on his turn before Martin stole his It that betrays and wins How? Also how would geths ability steal savra? If it would change zones, Ben can put her in the command zone. So if geth attempted to take her, that would change zones from yard to field and he could instead put her in c zone?

Is there ever gonna be a game where Kykar does well?

Some of the past ones I feel like Kykar did well. Mainly the ones where Adam is playing his list. My Kykar list has shifted to Elsha and I've been much happier with it.

I've got no clue why max kept swinging his ground creatures at everyone except andrew early on, when andrew had nothing to block with, and everyone else did. Just throwing his creatures away and what, hoping they'd trade?
