Hello there , how is the weather there at the beginning of November? It looks so lovely . Thank you
Savannah is hands down the prettiest city in the South, and of the best destinations in the United States.
A real gem of a place that one visit will not be enough. I strongly recommend a trip to the wonderful, Savanah. Enjoy this magnificent place!¡!
Don’t think I’ve been to a city as charming and beautiful as Historic Savannah.
Along with its cousin, Charleston, Savannah is a reminder of how genteel, relaxing, and pleasing the Old South can be. The leafy squares are a nice respite from the heat & humidity of summer, and the hospitality is unmatched. One of my favorite places to visit!
@Awakeningspirit20

My uncle grew up in Charleston and had such nasty things to say about Savannah, half-joking, but I honestly like Savannah MORE than Charleston! For one I felt like parking was much easier than in Charleston (but both need work), and Savannah had much more of a 'hidden gem' quality than Charleston. Charleston sits out like a grand jewel but Savannah feels tucked away on a river and somewhat away from things, so real and authentic as well. Being able to walk around with drinks, well, that's just a utopian future of the USA right there, so Savannah gets a 10 out of 10 for that alone!
@jdhjimbo

@@Awakeningspirit20 I have been to both cities numerous times and like them both. The shaded historic district squares in Savannah are real nice, and it is a very hospitable town that is quite welcoming. Charleston is more formal, but has a much more developed food scene and way more culture, and netter beaches than Tybee Island. I 7bderstand the charm of both, but right near the historic district are some rough neighborhoods in Sacannah. I could be happy in both, or Braufot (halfway in between, but the architecture of Charleston made it my favorite 7S city, but both are fairly unpleasant in the dead of summer, so 4 months on a lake in New England would be nice at that time. Charleston definitely attracts more visitors,especially so that can be a drag. Iknow there is quite a rivalry, but I enjoy being in BOTH towns!

I've lived here for nearly 50 years and I have never seen a ghost either, however I have met dozens of people who claim to have seen many. In fact an army buddy of mine saw an entire marching party of a civil war regiment complete with audio, the beating of drums and the playing of flutes. He and another MP were on watch duty and both saw the apparitions as they marched into the tree line and disappeared. He mentioned the most amazing part was that they didn't have any legs below their knees, and appeared to float along until they vanished. But, as for myself, I have never seen a ghost. Although, when I worked at Blue Moon I did hear my name called a lot when nobody was around... so there's that.

I will say this, he had no reason to lie to me, the thing is he brought it up out of nowhere, we were at a barbecue just my wife and his fiance and it was almost as if he was unburdening his soul. I trust that he believes he saw what he saw, but I have no proof and no way to verify it, so I remain skeptical.

The oldest city in Georgia, charming Savannah is the very picture of Southern hospitality. It’s tempting to spend your trip just relaxing on wide verandas and sipping mint juleps, but there are plenty of historical sites, museums, and oak-lined streets to explore. Haunting (and possibly haunted) Bonaventure Cemetery is one of the hallmarks of the city, featuring beautiful obelisks, masses of flowers, and ivy-covered crypts. Refuel from your explorations with fresh seafood and creamy grits for a taste of Savannah home cooking.

Yes, like saying 'bless your heart' and being nice to Yankees to their faces but once they leave the room you mock them? Oh yeah, and if you're a native south Georgian who's white, you go up to white people and share your "insight" into slavery and what you truly think of blacks?
@flyoverkid55

@@brynnkohler4084 Sounds like you fell out of the wrong side of the bed. I've travelled quite a bit, and naturally there are nasty folks everywhere. I'm talking about customary behavior. I've seen too many Yankees [ I grew up in CT ] acting like they're in NYC when they're not. Leave the " Ratzo Rizzo " crap at home. And for the record, not everyone in the South is racist, nor are those up North immune to it.
My husband lived in Savannah as a child. He still has family there and we've gone back for over 40 years, as often as we can. I can tell you, there is nothing "spooky" about Savannah. It's a lovely city with so much history, good and bad. The Pirates House is a great place to eat, but nothing spooky there either. Neither my husband or anyone in his family has ever seen anything slightly "spooky". They used to play in Colonial Park Cemetery and NEVER saw anything "spooky". It's a beautiful city and a great place to visit. It's too bad the "spooky" element has been used for tourism. It's wonderful without it. There, got that out of my system.

Being a local. It’s spooky. Just go to the squares at 2am. You will end up being a ghost or fighting for your life to be one. Had a ranger spec ops friend from Stuart that almost lost his life at 2am…it’s spooky Been that way for 30+ years.
Great video of Savannah. Shows it in all it's splendid glory. I was raised here and I absolutely love my city, but something was, I'm thinking, quite purposely left out of this video. Savannah's inhabitants are majority African American. I could count only a hand full of them filmed in this video. I am African American, so I'm feeling some kind of way about that. Was it intentional to portray something different to potential tourists???

Why do they even need to mention that? “The historic Savannah is home to a large number of low class hood rahts who do their best to destroy the city and turn it into every other ghetto in the south” Are you happy now? Find pride in real things.

Visiting Savannah for the true first time is one of my best memories of 2021, I honestly like it more than Charleston, SC even! It wasn't destroyed during the Civil War, so you'll see far more Antebellum history than most other places. You can also walk around with drinks, such as on tours, which you unfortunately won't find anywhere else in the US. Most importantly, the place is all-around gorgeous and I really hope to come back soon. "Forest City" is not a name I heard when I visited, but it does fit very well.

I understand why people live there, but other than Stone Mountain and the Aquarium (in ATL area), there is much more to see and enjoy in Savannah, and you feel like you are in a unique town. ATL is much like Dallas or HOU. The whole Lowcountry Coast from Wilmington, NC down to Amelia Island, FL is worth exploring (Wilmington, Pawley's Island, Charleston, Hilton Head, Beaufort, the Golden Isles of GA (Jekyll and St Simons), and Fernandina Beach, FL are some of my faves, along with Savannah.
