Salt Fever is REAL - More Passes to get Licensed! Bonneville Speed Week 2023 - Video 6
Talk about addicting! The salt fever everyone tells you about is veryyyy real. We worked to squeeze in my licensing passes in on day 2 of the salt being open. The weather originally pushing back the start of speed week has made some prior commitments I have interfere with my attempt to set a record this week. After LOTS of work we have devised a plan to see if I can make it back here to the salt and finish out this week before Roadkill Nights 🙌

We all can feel more comfortable about this when we watch Keith buckle you in! He dotes on you like your dad would, checking and double checking. He seems like a nice calming guy to have there and help keep the nerves down. Good luck and stay safe!
Thumbs up to Megan behind the sense helping to capture this amazing event for sister Alex.

Speaking with my Cinematographers hat on, yep, Megan's framing of the cameras she's using (looks like a combo of GoPro's, Phones, and at least one DSLR), and the exposure under difficult filming condition - That opening Sunrise is gorgeous!! - All the shots show skill and artistry that any professional camera operator or cinematographer would be proud of. Here's hoping she was able to keep the salt out of the cameras!.

This is so great! As a father of three daughters, I love seeing how all these men are taking care of her and helping her every step of the way. Cant wait for the next one!

Nice ain't it, to see Positive Masculinity. Seeing these blokes presenting role models other then all the toxic ones thrown at us to conform to, and just getting to pass on the skills and experience, hope plenty of young blokes take notice.

I think he said he has known her since she was 16, so my thinking is he has a vested interest in her safety and success. Like a second dad.

@@michaelhenderson5098 I guess they meet when Alex did her very first Drag Week. Seems Alex gained a lot of long lasting friendships back then, that still today are a big support for her. What Dennis just saw as a chance for some mother and daughter bonding time (he told in an interview), ended being kind of an life changing event for Alex and her family.
THAT 55 GOING TO LOOK GOOD ON THE SALT
It is nice to get a unique perspective on an event I have heard about since childhood. I was impressed with the quality of the team and the car they run.
Just 27 min into the vid but, have to say as a 70 yr young gear head, I’d be thrilled no end to be there with you and the great group of individuals gathered in this endeavor. Intelligent, talented and strong hearted you’ve got this. Sincere positive energy your way Alex!!
I've been dang near freakin out ever since I saw Keith two days ago talking on Tom Bailey's video, about Alex making back to the salt and actually getting to run again! The first few runs were so friggin awesome to watch, I can't help but check back every few hrs to see if the new video is up yet!
Couldn’t be more proud if you were my own daughter. Congratulations sweetheart, you deserve it all
It's soo impressive how the organizers are massively safety conscious! Congrats Alex!!😊

I love the little giggle at the end of the run!
Ink isn't dry on one license and going to level up to next class license...gotta love it !! Very very few videos give me goose bumps...this one did... Congratulations Alex !!
It’s crazy that a person can get so emotional over the excitement. Everytime you pull away from the push truck, I get teary eyed and can’t explain why the video of you doing the flyby of the chase vehicle did a number on me as well… Great job and I hope you can make it back to finish up what you’ve started and hopefully you can get a little rest in there somewhere!Congratulations! The whole world is behind and cheering you on!
I don't know Alex but she seem like the sweetest kid. Bless you.
Congrats again Alex! The team supporting you is absolutely awesome. Keith is so dialed in on ensuring everything is perfect for your runs. Enjoy everything, just ensure you’re getting some sleep and taking care of yourself too. Can’t wait for the next update!
Awesome stuff Alex. We're all proud of you. To whoever is out there reading this message, if you are having a hard time just remember you are not alone and never give up. The person who is reading this message, i wish you success, health, love and happiness. D, Anderson USMC 68-69

Ah, racing, short periods of frenzied excitement, long hours of boredom and waiting!!! But, intoxicating watching salt-fever grip you all, so happy for you, young lady, you have a wonderful attitude and a great team!
Alex is so disciplined.
It's crazy, I don't know you, haven't met you and I get emotional (worried and excited) watching your passes. God speed and I hope you get back for faster speeds.
Good show Miss Alexa Taylor💯 What supercooled is seeing how fast that white Chevy truck goes as well.
You can tell those old timers want you to feel the thrill that they do. That alone is a beautiful thing, like an old hunter or fisherman putting someone else on the catch of a lifetime because they know that person will carry a part of them forever.
I like all the safety! Ya need it at that level! Someday I hope to make it to the salt!
You are a true badass you drive that car like you’ve been in it all along. You should have companies falling over each other to sponsor you. You rock!
Love your passion for racing, keep it up and above all be safe!!
Why am I imagining Alex, Nick and Dennis with a gen 4 Firebird with a Steve Morris engine… Alex’s composure and discipline is impressive. Loving the mentoring from the team in new territory. Great to see y’all making the most of your opportunities. Hope it all works for y’all.
The best series you have done...we are rooting for you
33:37 that’s the best shot anyone could have ever got! Absolutely amazing and the gear shift! Felt like I was watching a movie the wind didn’t even bother, it added to the picture perfect moment..
The smile on your face says it all ..Congratulations Alex ..this kiwi grandpa follows you in whatever you do
What a ride to get your licenses in... congratulations team
I have never watch racing on the salt flats and for some reason it popped up on my page .So I clicked on it and I find out that I may get the chance to watch alex T set a record. I AM AMAZED at how well she is doing. So that being said she now has a new sub this little girl no bigger than a humming bird is handling this car like it was nothing. I think someone is going to have to build her a faster car after all this is over and she sets the new record. This little lady is out to take over the flats. Way to go alex T . I would wish you the best of luck but you don't need it Much love my friend from North Carolina.
Love how Keith turk looks after you and gives you the caml before you set off can tell how much everyone cares and wants to see you boss it which you are. They need to bottle up the love and care everyone shows to each other and sell it.
amazing the track officials are so knowledgeable, kind , reassuring and what i find to be most helpful is calming when i listened to them talk they made me think hell i can do this easily , just great people all around
Hope u get there friday . To get a record . Shame on snapon . For not lettting u do this huge feat
Alex Taylor jessi combs watching over you thank you so much for the things you do go alex

Nerves of steel, young miss.❤️👍🇨🇦
I’m so stoked for you Alex to see the emotion after the first pass to the third pass and your B license was so cool You’re a bad ass and you got salt fever love y’all.
I love that you have Keith there to strap you in. He's the perfect guy to have at your side
Congratulations again. Don't worry about speedweek, there's more racing in October. It might be a better track condition. That car SOUNDS great.
Great content thanks for sharing
Very good! I must confess I was nervous about you going that fast. 😊
What a great experience. Your support crew is awesome. Have fun, be safe.
Give it HELL Alex……….👍🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Awesome video, great all round team work, so good to see what happens when you want to go fast on the salt,I just love it , and your nervesisness soon went, good on you girl,
You're so blessed to know and meet the people you do. You're living a dream that many people can only dream of. 😊👏👏👏
Dang, Alex. You and your team put in work. I'm praying you get back to the salt in time to knock out your A license and a record!
Thanks for sharing the videos. I drove through that area in June and saw some random dude take off onto the salt in his Sprinter Van with his family -probably in an ignorant burst of idiocy. I later caught up with him at a rest stop and asked what his top speed was. Salt was still caked to his fender wells. I wasn't quite as adventurous with my rental car. P.S. If you pass through Sedona on your way back home, please consider yourself invited to the restaurant where I work in Tlaquepaque for a meal. The Secret Garden Cafe is open from 8 to 8.
That was awsome to watch! What a team! Just love it! 👊👍👌❤
you go girl, no doubt in our mind that you got this. Your only limitation, is yerself. Go beyond, test yer mettle. You are blessed.
gosh i can't imagine finally hitting 4th. you go girl!
This new chapter in your racing career is so exciting! Watching you blow by the truck in your B license run was amazing! Sustained speed is fun to watch.
Alex… you my dear are such a badass! I love your courage, your tenacity, your fearlessness and the passion you have for going fast! Congratulations on your determination to conquer the salt! I love it and hope my daughter can achieve a 1/4 of what you are achieving! Love ya Alex and keep the pedal to the metal and the car between the lines. 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤
WOW so proud of your effort to do this the right way awesome work and crew !~
Keith Turk, you are a class act. This was fun to watch! Congrats and thanks to Roger and everyone involved.
This looks like so much fun, I hope you get to go back and set a new record.
As you might have guessed, Alex has a few hundred years of experience working for her, a Senior team, great motivators and unbelievable amount if information. Just remember Alex, safety first, records second! Stay safe
Congratulations and well done to you and the team! It would of been nice to see some footage from the camera next to you that points forward!
Awesome job Alex stay safe and fast keep it steady.
To watch you drag race and continue to excel at that sport has been a thrill due to my love of the sport but to watch you delve into the world of salt racing and taking to it like a duckling to water is even more thrilling. I can't explain it but the in car camera shots are amazing to watch. It's like you've raced that car for years. And your crew is outstanding. Great job Alex.
Totally amazing Alex!!! So smooth and steady! Great to watch. Congrats.
Thank you Megan for filming and editing this amazing series! I hope there are plans for a salt flats build like the 55! I love to see you guys back chasing a record!
Nice going Alex there is nothing you can't do if you set your goals to it. I was impressed how the engine ran in that car. So what is next Kid...O. Can't wait to see. TK.
nice jobs Alex we love it
Congratulations Alex fantastic I really wish you could have stayed and broke the record I know you could have done it. You know when racing it's all about the people around you what a great team. I was really hoping you didn't have to leave this is been really entertaining
What a fun watch. I've seen Keith pop up on every salt flats documentary since the mid 90s. I've probably watched every single one 3 times. If there was a face(and a hat) to go with Bonneville......it's his.
That was a great run Alex. I hope you can make it back for Friday good luck
Arkansas girl goes 201mph!!!! So happy for you! Very cool video to watch.
Alex what an awesome group of people you have around you. I really like the start line conversations with Keith. Thanks again Megan for filming and editing you are doing such a great job. Thanks and hope the salt is dry enough to run again.
Awesome job Alex and so proud of you and you are rocking it! ❤
Way to go Alex! Hope you can get a record if the salt is good. Badass doesn't even begin to describe you 😁👊
Man this adventure is so awesome, I love the salt, can't wait for the next video, good luck, love your hat, hang in there Nick, sleep is coming😅 Love you guys.❤🇺🇸
I was there at the start line and watched ya! Congrats!🏎🏁
I wish you had a camera down track to see her approach and go by. The look and sound of that is awesome.

Yes, that same shot when Cleetus runs Mullet down the quarter mile is one of my favorites. It really lets you appreciate the sound, power, and speed that these people are moving at. It would be great for this race as well.
Blown away. Thanks for taking us along! ❤
You are so awesome Alex. I can't tell you how proud I am of you. If ever have a free few hours in Nashville I live close to the Airport. Would love to buy you and who ever your with lunch, Dinner or a Coffee. Safe Travels and I hope testing went well today!
Love the "race car nap" Alex:)
Alex, what an amazing group of people you have built around you, speaks loudly to your character. Best of luck with your plans. Cheers from Tokyo!

She is a bad ass! Way to go Alex.
24:39 pleas don't, please don't, please don't...*sigh of relief*
Cool getting to Bonneville. Makes me think about running about 170 on the street in my 70 Cuda, 383. Flying low!
Way to go Alex!! Hopefully the rains will stop and the track will dry and your schedule gets you back to run for a record!! You got this!!(BadAss)
Alex, this is warming up to be another great year. And it would be short changing Roger and Tim; Btw, there aren't very many old salts who got all their licenses and a hefty record in their first season. Cannot give enough credit to Tim, Roger and all the team who collaborate so well.
This is really exciting,Iam pumped! Sure hope you make it happen!
Fantastic to be you Alex keep driving fast and safe . Can't wait to see what you have achievable 👏👏👏👏👍
195MPH with one hand on the wheel and a smile on her face! Watch out world, the Booneville Bombshell is in the house!
Well done Alex on the licenses, you accomplished it with great poise. Let hope there is a successful record attempt. And what a bunch of , lets say "experienced" ladies and gentlemen helping you. What a bunch of sweethearts. Good luck

there is nothing better than letting your head fall forward on your HANS when strapped in and getting a nap in whilst waiting for a start
I kept waiting for another shift during the first run! 😎😎
wow, what a life with allot of great people, hope you get to run on friday, good luck be safe. brad
You’ve really come a long way from racing that Red 68 Camaro down the strip after school. Excellent job!
So i can hear it in my head where Alex is saying hey Dad we need to build a salt racer next.
