We Broke The Drive Shaft 😳 - Sick Week 2024 Day 4

This day was a roller coaster to say the least! On pass one we thought water got under the tire so I lifted. Went up for pass 2 against Jeff Lutz and spun the yoke in the burn out box😅 Turns out that is actually what had broke on the first pass but had just enough in it for me to drive back!
We thought we were out but thankfully we were able to get a new drive shaft made and to the track, into the car and in the lanes with 4 minutes to spare before lanes closed! 🙌

Watching Alex work with her father reminds everyone that she isn't just the cute girl that drives the car. She also gets down and dirty doing the repairs on it with her dad. I really love the videos she releases. I could watch Alex Taylor videos for hours. They never are boring. Secondly any girl that works on her manicure with a pair of wire cutters is a winner in my book. :)

Gotta say, the best Sick Week video so far. To all the keyboard mechanics that had a problem with you replacing Tony on HRG, they should watch you and your Dad go after that driveshaft. It looked like a trauma surgery team the way you each knew what the other was going to do on each step. And a big round of applause for Megan's camera work, especially under the '55. And a big shout to Nick for throwing his muscle around and gettin' the job DONE!

Don’t know if someone might have said this already lol. But a quick trick to get rid of fiberglass fibers….. wipe your hands and arms or whatever with Elmer’s glue like your putting on lotion. Let it dry, peel it off and it will grab most if not all the fiberglass fibers. Doesn’t have to be thick :)

Dennis, I understand the injector issues, My class car is old style 84' TBI fuel injection technology w/ a single injector (so if I have issues there it is over), it means a replace immediately and it also has aa input line, top hat followed by injector then the regulator and return creating and controlling the final input pressure the injector receives top of the TBI throttle body, pump and 3 filters. A pre-filter, a post filter, and the stock canister filter. Anytime adding new fuel, or doing any work concerning fuel line disconnecting or filter replaces, always turn on the pump for a few minutes to circulate the fuel through the lines (engine off), so any trash in the lines at all goes right by in the fuel rail, back to the cell, then again a couple of times through the filters...it just keeps it from getting into the injectors. That start up right after fueling or fuel system repairs without that step of long circulation is the hard time.
