Mines chambered in .270 Win. and I can't say enough about the Finnlight, it looks good and feels great in the hand. Super light and the best hunting rifle out there. The accuracy you are getting is about par for this gun, I have got sub MOA using Sako ammo but not on a regular basis, its a super lightweight rifle and bucks like a mule on the benchrest so not an ideal target rifle but that is not what it was designed for. Thanks for the review.

I have one of these in 7mm-08. Very accurate and basically a nice rifle. But, when you clean it, DO NOT use any type of degreasing cleaner. It will literally melt the stock. This is not a composite stock like on a Christiansen Arms rifle that will stand up to anything.

hey behind the trigger awesome video and beauty rifle . I am very interested in getting one of these finlights but I am reading on problems on the rifle extracting casings and them hitting the bottom of the scope and falling back into the receiver. I have read many reviews on this just curious what your take is on it ! thanks

I've seen where the round ejects but bounces off the scope base back into the action, but never when they have this type of scope rings. It's always been some sort of one piece base. Not to say that it couldn't happen, just that I've never seen it. I also have a Sako in 223 that I've fired thousands of rounds through and never had any sort of failure... Again it has the same Sako Optilock rings on it. I suppose if the rings were low enough, it might create that possible... if it was a problem, I'd probably try the next higher rings.

Hi behindthetrigger, Love your content, quick question.. On you Sako finnlight stock, have you noticed the soft touch on your stock getting sticky at all? I'm interested in the sako finnlight but worried about what I'm reading online about the finnlight stocks getting sticky over time... Thanks for your time, hope to hear from you soon!

Good question Paul. I do not know because I no longer have it, but I did recently pick up a shotgun with a rubber over mold that I have the same concern. It's brand new so its fine now, but time will tell. I also have a Zoom H4 sound recorder that suffers from the exact problem. I cleaned off the oily substance with acetone and that seems to have helped at least temporarily. My preference is old fashioned plastic for the reason you pointed out.

@@paulmo-we1mw Thanks Paul, but it appears my content has been "too good" as I have been demonetized. It began with simple shadow banning and that reduced my viewership to the point where my low view count was reason for demonetization. I made more money with 5 videos before trump got elected than on 50 videos after he got elected. Trumps election highlighted the role social media plays in influencing the hearts and minds so the liberals went to work to silence conservative voices on the internet. I may still put out videos on occasion as an act of defiance but there is no chance I will get paid a dime for the effort.

this video doesn't do justice to the feel of this gun in your hands. The lightness is awesome and those soft rubber parts of the stock a nice Hogue grip feel that you'll love

Lose the heavy, high, Optilock base and mount combo and use the Optilock ringmounts instead.

zeissOholic, I've never heard of those Optilock ring mounts, but they appear to achieve the same goal without the weld, and they would be lighter. Thanks for the tip!

Dont put anything in the scope mounts. Its dovetails, so you can loosen the two screws, and take the scope of, and put on another scope. You can shift scopes without any kind of sighting in again, as long as you have a set of rings for each of your scopes. It works just as well as Blaser mounts. On Sakos you just need an allen key.

You are a little too inside the box for my taste Ken. Instead of viewing things only as they are, try seeing how they should be... The point of the taper is to allow the scope rings to become more tightly mounted as a result of recoil. That's why they get wider toward the front. Removing the pin at the rear base allows the bases to lock up on the taper. The shim is just there to align the real base with the ejection port for cosmetic reasons and to compensate for what I see as a design defect as the rear base should be machined to lock up on the taper in the correct location without the need for a stop in or shims. Furthermore the screw that holds the base to the rings is at best anemic so that's why the bases and rings were welded together. Its all about removing any possibility of movement.

Not sure if you are aware but the Sako rings have been fitted incorrectly. You may have found you needed a lot of windage when setting your zero. The back of the front ring bace. Should be inline with the front of the ejection port. Happy shooting mate.

I actually don't like the Optilock system. This setup leaves no room for adjusting the location of the rings. Why Sako discontinued their old rings is beyond me. Besides, the heavily built bases look out of place on such a streamline rifle.

then why don't don't most people use at 3 08 for moose hunting because you got more knockdown power from a bigger caliber and there's no reason not to use it

Well.. it depends how hard you want to hit the tree on the other side of the animal. You seem to be a traditional hunter. Traditional is not technical... Many hunters use what the other guys use without analyzing why. Just because its popular does not mean it is ideal.I've been shooting competitively to 1000 yards for 20 years and hand loading for 40 years. Nothing we use at 1000 yards is a typical hunter load. We use high BC hollow point bullets and these target bullets actually perform much better than soft point hunting bullets... but that is not the whole story. But again... you keep going back to classing the cartridge for terminal performance with an apparent disregard for the projectile. Is the projectile that kills... not the case it was fired from.As I stated earlier its all about bullet performance and placement.Barrel twist rate s also a very important factor that most are not aware of.. fast twist rate is always better.BTW... and this will piss you off... I've been hunting deer with a 223.A guy like you would think that's inhumane but again... its because you don't understand how to configure the barrel and ammunition for that purpose.I've never lost a deer and no deer I shot with a 223 ran more than 10 yards.

I shot a moose from 284 yards with it using 185 Berger Juggernauts which are sold as a match bullet (not even recommended for hunting by the manufacturer BTW) and the moose ran 3 feet straight down. Good external ballistics and terminal ballistics will get the job done even with less muzzle velocity. I never blame the caliber... it's all about good bullet performance and good bullet placement.

30/06 is still a thirty caliber it just has a longer case and in my experience a Moose doesn’t know the difference between being hit with a 180gr .308 or a 180gr 30/06.

Tired of this kind of bs comments, just goes to show you don't know squat about hunting and different calibers. Here in Sweden we have the densest population of Moose in the world, and we've been hunting them with the 6.5x55 for over 100 years without any issues, and it's "weaker than the .308 if you look at energy in ft.lbf or Joules...
