It is amazing how many years it has taken for the gun makers to respond to the customers needs which is LIGHT WEIGHT. Some big name gun makers cant change their manufacturing process to produce a 1 MOA rifle. Those who still want to sell a 2 MOA rifle, deserve going out of business no matter how shiney their wood stocks are. The lightweight approach makes it possible for off hand shooting sport as well.

Great rifle. Sako is always one of my favourite rifles. This carbon lite looks like a keeper.

The stock is not joined from two parts. To see how the stock is made, here is the video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fJ14ps2qlcirdLw.html

Would have liked to have seen recoil lug set up in stock and I do not agree that carbon fibre stock is on par with pillars and a proper bedding job. I have (2) Sako Finnlights and L579 Forrester and only (2) shot MOA. The were nice looking rifles however both Finnlight stocks were rubbish, I had both replaced with McMillans. The action and barrel on the Carbonlight appears to be a copy of the Finnlight. For the same price, I would rather have a Fierce which comes with 1/2 MOA guarantee with factory ammo..

This gentleman does a great presentation on this rifle. Great video. However the experience I have with my Sako 85 in 30-06 purchased in Sept 2022 is not quite that good. Everything works flawlessly except the ejection. The cases fall back into the action after hitting the bottom of the scope. I live and hunt in western Canada and I do encounter grizzlies and I’ve had several encounters in 50yrs of hunting. Fortunately I’ve not had to pull the trigger. So to have a rifle which does not throw the cases clear of the action is a risk I’m not willing to take.

I own a Sako 85 SS Finnlight in 260 Remington with a fluted short barrel. After owning the rifle for 2 years and using it for one hunting season, the stock began decomposing and becoming VERY sticky. Beretta is apparently the parent company and I have contacted them numerous times about the decomposing stock. They refuse to do anything to rectify the issue that makes the rifle non usable as everything sticks to it. One would think that paying over $1900 US dollars just for the rifle, it would be a lifetime investment. The rifle is a good rifle...the stock makes it useless. I could NEVER recommend a Sako rifle to anyone as they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT!

Sounds odd to say Saw-kuuh rather than Saw-koh, as the Finns do. Is that a ZA pronunciation?

It’s not solid carbonfibre … it’s a shell laminated onto a plastic form … as shown elsewhere on KZread.

I guess the solid cf would be way too heavy and out of balance. But this cf version of SAKO85 is overpriced for sure.
