I have the same rifle chambered in 308. Loved it super accurate. The rifle do have some kick to it. I still need to get my first deer with it. Last year wasn't a good seaon. Hoping for a better season this year.

My wife has a Tikka T3 in 308. She has killed many large hogs with it and a few turkeys. She loves it. I had a chance to buy a used T3 in 7mm mag. from rack in Cabela's but stupidly passed it up. I always clean our rifles after a hunt. That Tikka of hers feels great well balanced and light. I guess I will stick with my trusty old Thomson Center Venture 30 06 for now but I am still lusting for that T3 7mm mag!

They have the same rifle including cartridge but in left hand at my local Cabela’s. Since I am a cross dominant shooter I use left handed rifles. It was on sale too. But since it wasn’t threaded I didn’t go with it. I really liked it though.

Beautiful Rifle. Got one in 6.5 with a Vortex Diamondback I’m set for life with a rifle for anything elk or under. Accurate as hell too and trigger and action are a Dream. How bad does the 7 kick without your lead sled. Almost brought it in a 7 but preferred not to get my brain rattled.

I bought a stainless Tikka T3X Superlight in .270 Win for hunting up here in Alaska. This rifle is inexpensive, so it has lots of plastic...plastic stock with no aluminum bedding block, plastic magazine, plastic trigger guard, plastic bolt release, etc. At least now Tikka has steel recoil lug and aluminum bolt shroud and a foam filled stock...all improvements over earlier Tikka T3x. It would cost more than the rifle to upgrade all the plastic components, and they don't substantially affect accuracy. I was able to get subMOA accuracy with IMR4350 in one afternoon of load development...my best load was at ~3,000 fps with a standard deviation of 4.6 fps with Nozler brass full length resized with a shoulder bump of 0.002" shooting 130 gr Barnes TTSX. I also like the recoil hole on the receiver (Sako/Tikka optiloc system) and used Warne Maxima rings to mount directly to the receiver dovetail (no rail or scope bases needed). The Maxima rings have a recoil lug that fits into the receiver recoil hole nicely. A very light, all-weather, accurate mountain rifle.

@Tyler Hernandez great comment and I absolutely agree. I own the original T3 which is heavier than this model and it is too light for a magnum cartridge. People need to realize what they are giving up in steadiness and getting highly increased recoil when shooting this platform in a magnum. My thoughts exactly. Clean it good first, before you ever shoot it. Then there are many techniques afterwards. I clean and cool for the first 10 or shoot 3 on a cold barrel then clean and repeat until 20 rounds. No one gun has the same result ,but clean and cool to get the best accuracy over the long haul. Good luck!

I'm no expert but two of my new rifles started out 1.5 " groups and after being disappointed I decided to break the barrel in and after about 100 rounds get 1/2"- 3/4" groups. Also got a old ruger m77 mark 2 I had for 20 years was horrible when new now with over 2000 rounds and 20 years of hunting it shoots excellent. I think it depends on specific barrel but most will shoot better after the bore smooths out after a few boxes of ammo.
