Rian Cloete you really think he knew where his daughter was? They had search teams. They couldn’t find them. If you’re talking about where she was after they found her then you’re oblivious. He can’t just go in the facility and take her. Like are you a 4 year old? Because you clearly don’t have a brain.

Well it's different when your own parent kidnaps you after a divorce case gone wrong, from a stranger who kidnaps you, abuses you, kills you. They're different kinds of victims and they have different traumas from these facts. She still was with her mother. She might have had issues with the father but obviously she meant no harm to her child.

My mother kidnapped my brother (3 years old) and me (8 years old) in 1969, took us around South America and we finally settled in Argentina. My brother and I finally found my dad in April 1991 and moved back that same year. Our reunion was emotional for everyone! All those years he did not know if we were dead or alive.

I went and read an article on this story and I read that the mom lied to Sabrina and told her that her dad didn’t want her and committed suicide and that both of her grandparents on her dads side were dead so when she got back to the US she refused to see him. They said that she’s under the care of a therapist who is helping her get through this. The article was from 2014 so I don’t know how they are now but I hope they got to reunite.

  • @speeeee35

Yeah I’d imagine she started to piece things together as she got older... especially if she had any memories of her father being gentle and kind & her mother was describing him as an abusive addict or something (cause he said she’s been turned against him so who knows what was said)... plus of course even when you’re “used to”abuse.... when it’s THAT bad (locked away,no school, no friends etc) you can tell something is wrong just by ever seeing a tv show, or even seeing the way other people act. Plus they said there were some failed attempts to rescue her so even if her mom made something up she at least knew they were on the run from the cops for some reason. Regardless though if her mother is all she knows it’s understandable she would love and care for her abuse or not. Such a sad story.

The idea that it is even possible to "kidnap" your own biological child is Pure 100% Bull Shit. Here in CA, this type of "parental kidnapping" law was enacted in the mid-1970's and it only became the law because family courts became too overcrowded with these types of entrenched custody battles. This "parental kidnapping" law here in CA had NOTHING At All to do with the fitness of either parent. It's purpose was to make life easier for Family Courts, and NOTHING Else. So just to make it more "convenient" for government "pencil pushers", biological parents of their own biological children became criminals. God Bless America !!! Actually parents of children who have been kidnapped are instructed to ask that when they are reunited. So much of the child's life has been out of their hands, and they need to feel safe and like they have some say in the situation. I did a lot of reading on the subject after I heard another set of parents say the same thing when they were reunited with their daughter. It would be so hard not to just run over and hold them, though! That's all you would want to do!

It's utterly disgusting to read comments of people downgrade this situation. The mother did not have legal custody of her. The parent that was ruled fit to take care of her was deprived of seeing his child for 12 years. The mother neglected her child by depriving her of an education and keeping her locked up in a apartment. You can't just brush it off and say "oh it's not that bad" or "it's not a real kidnapping"

  • @allanrichardson1468

Also, it's possible that the mother exposed her to criminal elements in Mexico in order to make a living for the two of them. And when she was old enough (not that old to some "clients") they may have forced her into prostitution. Unless there's a followup news story, we don't know. It's hard to imagine what kind of LEGAL employment her mother may have qualified for (especially given her own mental condition) in a foreign country. Mexicans don't like illegal aliens stealing THEIR jobs either! So she must have been doing SOMETHING illegal to support them.

I did a bit of looking into updates or other info for this case. Apparently, the mother had made multiple accusations of various abuses against the father. This was investigated and found to be false (couldn't find anything on what Sabrina had to say about the accusations at the time). Dara made so many of these complaints that she was eventually ordered into therapy but still allowed to have (apparently) unsupervised visits with her daughter. She then kidnapped her, moved to Mexico, and Sabrina attended elementary school for awhile looking neglected, thin and unkempt. It doesn't appear Sabrina was treated well while with her mother, so I think it really sucks that she was only sentenced to 2 years in jail for something that has probably had a profoundly negative affect on her daughter's life.

It's still considered a kidnapping whether it's by the mother or father or a stranger. Especially if they flee to another country. So, just because the child had been taken by the mother, it's still a kidnapping. The parents may have been dealing over custody issues and with court and so the mother decided to flee with the child. You can be charged for missing court appointed dates or visits.

I would say that the whole Ruination First Place Award belongs to the bio mother who decided that she didn't have to comply with the law. That "guy she does not even remember" is her father. They deserve to be in each others lives and be loved. Not being able to lead a normal life? Not being able to attend school? Holed up in an apartment? That particular brand of lunacy was the bio mother's doing. Come on, you are way biased in this. Kids aren't pawns. They deserve both parents who consider their needs a priority. Bio mothers are not always the best parents to raise their children. Courts need to consider this.

She's dead. Her parents - both Drs - regularly give their kids (Madeleine & the twins) drugs to sleep so parents can have a quiet night. This happened on the night she died. Madeleine was put to bed but woke up crying. Her father was annoyed so they gave Madeleine more drugs. Madeleine went back to bed but got up to get a drink of water. She slipped, due to being groggy, fell & hit her head on furniture which killed her. The parents were having dinner with friends & during their checks found her dead. Being a well known surgeon the father didn't want his reputation ruined...also fearing that an autopsy would reveal an overdose, resulting in loss of job, prison & losing the twins ...the father went in to cover-up mode & worked with 1 of the male friends to hide the body in the boot of the friend's car. At 1st the mum didn't know but later, found out. They then hatched a plan with a select few of their friends that she'd been kidnapped. Later the friend drove Madeleine's body to a nearby forest by a campsite & buried her in a shallow grave. Later the friend & her father dug her up, hopped on a small boat & dumped her body, wrapped in chains & anchor for weight, in a nearby lake that feeds into the sea. That is why the parents are blaming foreign Police, hide behind lawyers & come across as arrogant - esp the father. Also they refuse to answer any hard questions by police or journalists other than made-up media statements to make themselves look good & divert attention. Check out 'Channeling Erik' & his talk with Madeleine in the after life.

@@marylbvlogs5470 I commented from memory from Channeling Erik years ago, so I may have missed a few things. What comes to mind is the father's callousness to disrespect his own child's body... & to put his career & reputation as a surgeon above everything else. There are a few investigative book writers & analysis experts who believe the parents are covering up. The sad thing is, Madeleine's mum, spent years on fertility treatments trying to get pregnant. The father comes across as a bully so is able to intimidate the friends into silence as well as the mum. Also what kind of power do they have over Scotland yard who say they've done an investigation but instead have protected the parents. You have to question what kind of mum allows the body of her daughter to be chucked away like that. The strain & guilt is definitely showing on the mum's face & she looks haggard whenever in media.

This is why I was adamant about my toddler’s father meeting, seeing, playing with her in the courthouse “playroom”. No way for either of us to do anything illegal, because it’s all surrounded by cops, covered with cameras. Granted, she’s turning three and he’s seen her 4 times since she was born, called 12 times, last contact being July of 2020. Poor guy got so mad about having to pay $300 a month for a toddler who’s daycare alone (4 hours a day, 3 days a week) is over $1,300 🥴 protect yourselves, push for safe places to hand over your little ones. This is heartbreaking, poor baby 😔

Brings back when my 1&2 year old babies were kidnapped for 13 by their abusive dad. He raped me when I was 12 and kept messing with me until he finally got me pregnant at the age of 14. I was forced to marry him instead of putting him in jail. It was horrible in every way being with him. It was a " fake it til you make it" type of life. I eventually got away from him and later he took my babies. My children finally are home and grown but it's not a family. I pain for anyone who has to deal with their children taken away from them for any reason.

Most children end up rejecting their parents, but some are able to adjust if they came from a stable background (that they can remember) and with the help of years of counseling. Usually the parents have to get counseling on what to expect before they can see their child..........and adjustment for the parents is extremely difficult as well as the child.

@Dag Koj Please stop assuming what others’ reasons may be without sources. I understand the facts you are presenting but you are generalizing men with this behavior. Just bc men are more likely to sexually abuse people does not mean that all do. It is in general way more likely for men not to be abusive than to be. You are using the same form of argumentation as people who say that women are to emotional to be in leadership positions. Just be women are statistically more emotional than men. I hope you understand this since English is not my first (or second haha) language. I mean no offense to you or your opinions and if this opinion is based on an irl experience I understand where this is coming from and truly feel with you. But it is not right to drag anyone down regardless if female, male or nonbinary. :)
