Thank God Heavenly Father for this officer and his wife and family for everything they've done for the kids .. This man exemplifies something they taught us in college for child development. You have to be the voice for those that have none. I'm so glad this little boy was saved and his baby sister as well.

The officer and his wife are not only true hero's, but angels as well. It also speaks volumes about their parenting skills to have their own children accept their adopted brother and sister into their lives. They are all truly angels among us.

A Police Officer with a true heart. He stayed by that boys side at the hospital as I'm sure he was afraid his parents might come get him. This family will stay in my prayers from now on. Thank YOU!!!!

It's remarkable how well the boy has done given his horrible start in life. Such resilience is inspiring. Love and care from wonderful parents were big factors, no doubt.

He took the baby too. This man is like no other, with the true heart of a father.

Can’t leave the son’s little sister in foster care.

My mother would have said that by doing this, that cop added stars to his crown. Anyone else heard that? It's great that his family also went and picked up the boy's baby sister. It's amazing that his family went from two children to five children almost overnight.

I'm a daughter of a retired police Sgt. detective from Canada, and You sir are absolutley amazing and so is your wife and your family. The world needs more people like this to stand up against the evil. Thankyou for your service and the genuine soul that you are. The definition of better people, bless them for being the best kind of parents for adopting these little angels.

More of these true life stories need to be posted. We see nothing but the stories of "bad cops". Well, guess what? There are bad apples in every profession. But there are also cops that do just what this man did. It takes a very special person or family to adopt. He and his family are Angels on earth, no doubt. Thank you for saving this boy and his sister. I truly wish we could clone both you and your beautiful family.

If you look for only bad cops and bad people that's what you'll get duh. Everyone who thinks normally knows there a bad and good no matter what profession and among people it's part of being human, stop bringing up something that has nothing to do with this case.

Well yeah, but my gripe is the institutes they work for and there are far too many bad apples. So I appreciate news like this. Some cops are decent human beings but they would have been like that anyway.

I would say that the lion's share of police officers are good people who legitimately chose this profession to help people! We see mostly the bad cops because it's more news worthy to the media! The good stories like this, you really have to look for! I wish only the best for this man and his family. They are true, earth-bound angels!!

I think they saved each other from years of future PTSD. If that cop didn't take that kid home, his dreams would have never let him forget it. People need 💤!! It's hard to live without it sanely, safely... know what I mean? Anyone?

I am crying... What a wonderful story, out of this world touching. Mr. and Mrs Thompson said in some interviews how they felt God was leading them to take these two kids in and love them. So beautiful

This man is the epitomy of serving and protecting. Hats off to you sir.

I love that he expresses that there is of course some difficulty with adopting such a traumatized child. Too many people try to play up how beautiful adoption is in order to get more people to do it. But I think having realistic expectations and recognizing difficulties is way more beneficial to helping to encourage others to adopt.

Yes I agree. There will be trying times for the kids and family but love finds a way. He's obviously a great kid despite his.. trauma.

He looks just like his daddy now! Good job officer! My husband is a 15 year officer and worked bad cases. When I see these stories, after hiring for the victims and their loved ones, my heart breaks for all the first responders and the many support staff and their families and friends. I’ve seen the heartbreak.

It's easy to compare ourselves against horrible parents. But comparing ourselves against these amazing parents is seriously humbling. I was so touched by their graciousness, especially considering the unexpected 2 other children. 🙌🙌🙌

Yes ma’am, that’s the truth but what touched me the most was “when the officer said he couldn’t get the boy out of hid mind”. I knew he was different, they are trained to move on but his heart didn’t allow him to move along. Thank God for parents like him and his wife and for raising exceptional children to accept and love as their own sibling is so beautiful 😍.

He even looks like his daddy, he's where he's meant to be. Both of them are. I just ended my time as a foster mama, it wasn't something I planned to do but its how it went, now I have shared custody of my foster son and his younger siblings all went home and are doing well, luckily mom and dad weren't like this, nothing close to this they just needed guidance.

I’m glad for that too! He doesn’t have to worry about nightmarish experiences from evil demons, kudos to the cop for not turning into a blind eye and leave him in the hellish nightmares unlike what the cops did to Gabriel Fernandez.
