Perfect timing, just about to rebuild my parking brake because of leaking seal. Valley Hybrids in Stockton, California has a great double seal to replace the single seal to prevent future leaks. Great step by step video. Thanks

I have seen the double seal from Valley Hybrids, but postage to Australia is a long lead time, so went with the easy to get one. All the best mate. What year model do you own?

I need to replace my handbrake cable as it had snapped just prior to purchase about 6 months ago & this will help no end. Love your content as always and simplicity. I’ve gone the cheap option (chock) until I can get around to it. Cheers mate

I have just finished my parking brake rebuild, I don't think it's expanding the shoes evenly. I am now going to watch your video to check i have it together correctly. Thanks for all your videos, very useful to watch when used alongside the manufacturers manual, I am currently working on the transfer and 3 speed so perfect timing. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for making these videos. I will be one day starting a rebuild on a BJ40 but have little to no experience in car mechanics and so channels like yours will be very useful!!!

if you can change a wheel. you can do the rest. its just nuts ,bolts, torques. comprehensive tool kit is first,& not a cheap one. pliers, long nose ,side cutters, decent hammer, jack stands, 3t hyd jack. im not a toyota fan, to me, they flogged a dead horse for too long. never updated. then, when they did, it was wrong. the 80 series is there best 4x4, but, they put the e brake in the disc, & the front radius arms are fixed wrong, best ausie 4x4, is the nissan gu 4.2tdi. its dont correct.. i drive u.s 4x4rs. bit more sensible, parts cheap, .cant beat dana & new process.. heres a hint, the 75 - 80 f100 4x4. is the best, except for the rear drums, which you fix with a chev disc conversion, using the disc as the e brake , .coil front, leaf rea, reversed hangers. bolt thru radius arms, same as range rover crap. the leafs on your 40 should be on top of diff with less arc, so its more comfortable & you get more std travel.

Great video! Thank you very much. Just a quick note. I think your pad retaining springs should be installed the other way. They will not interact with the washer and won't open up and lose their tension over time (just removed one like that on the vehicle I am rebulding). Thanks again.

awesome video . Is the 1969 FJ45 3 speed parking brake similar to the 1977 Fj45 parking brake ? As my 1977 has no internals at all and have found a 69 unit ? Many thanks .

Hi i was wondering if you knew where I could get genuine side mirrors for my fj40 or at least quality reproductions? I bought some online and they are really bad. Would really appreciate your feedback. Regards Hart

G'day mate, yes you can still get genuine mirrors from Toyota. I have them on my FJ40 and they are 100 times better.
