In episode 11 of our series, Foxing with Mark Ripley (260 RIPS) on Shooting & Country TV, Mark is out for a clear-up after calls from two concerned farmers about the safety of their lambs.
Fox attacks on lambs are very common, and Mark protects the lambs on several different farms from the jaws of the local fox population. It's not an easy job - Mark is working with a vast swathe of land that requires constant scanning and often a long shot on one farm, and a smaller area with houses and roads to consider before making a safe shot on the second farm.
It's of the utmost importance that Mark takes a few foxes out before they get to the vulnerable lambs, which make very easy pickings for these highly effective predators... it goes very well! Enjoy!

Great video mark as you always do chase 👍🏻👍🏻
Good job mate 👍
Great shooting mark. I would of been quite happy watching the hares boxing and playing shame you didn’t get one on the hill ground but they you go. Still nice to get 3 and a very happy landowner. 👍
Nice clean kills. I admire your patience. 😊
Great video....😬
Nice work as always mark
Awesome video👌🏼👍🏻🌿
It is important to keep fox numbers under control. If not they can do a lot of damage especially at lambing time, which i have seen for myself and hav`nt forgotten the sight.
so much better than the shooting show and fieldsports , they seem to come out with 10 mins of content
Love to see ur videos Mark, keep it up 😎
Excellent..👍

Those hills are lovely for shooting over 👍
I see 260RIPS I watch, it is the way.
very professional vermin control!
Class 👏👏👏
The cool opening track is 'Desert Drives' by Brent Wood.
You have that same type of hold and bolt style only only long range shooters in the military usually use
Fantastic shooting as ever Mark - but i would recommend wearing ear protection even with a moderated rifle - it is still loud !!

Your right I probably should really! 🥴
Flips a stone at 350 yards for jokes. Brilliant. What a set up of gear.
It still amazes me how a Brit can hunt with a suppressed rifle. Yet my state here in the US has banned it. For no good reason at all.

It is very regulated. You need a firearms license. You have to prove that you have a valid reason for a firearms license. You will be background checked. You need a medical assessment. Your license will only be for the gun(s) and ammo that you declare, you even need to state how much ammo you intend to purchase. All the equipment has be locked in a safe when not in use and the gun must travel hidden in a bag or case. If you want to add different types of guns or ammo or change your allocation you need to apply for the amendments. If for recreation only you must be a member of a registered club. And you will get randomly checked by the Police with home visits to ensure you are complying. That said, the variety of equipment and ammo available for use would surprise most people!
Mark could do with some advice if possible

Mark silly question what do you do with the disposal of the culled foxes? ie do you leave them for the farmer /land owner? Gary
Great video Could you make sure your audio comes through on both left and right channels. It was only in my left speakers on this video and quite irritating.

Depends on the farm, some like to see the fruits of our Labour others we just dump them in the farms dead bin for collection by contractors along with any dead livestock
Hi Mark Would love if you done a in-depth video on the Recon sticks, Are they only used on flat ground? Can they be used for Deer Stalking?

@@260rips thank you for your reply Mark 👍
What country are you in?? I thought countries like Europe and Europe and pretty much anywhere but the US you can't have weapons like this like this that's why they use high powered air rifles I know they can have shotguns but have to go through all kinds of hoops and jumps to get them

I’m in the uk and yes we can own full bore rifles although you do need a licence and ground to use it on as well as good reason to possess firearms 👍
Hi Mark, What makes you choose the call to use on the caller, or is it pure guess work? Cheers
@260rips
2 жыл бұрын
I have a few I like which work well, the screaming rabbit call is good when you want the call to be heard from a distance. Rabbit distress, pheasant distress and rat distress are all good. I try to match the call to what’s in the area ie if there’s bunnies on this hedgerow then I use rabbit sounds, around barns maybe a rat one. The fox cub sounds can also be good in the spring 👍
Nice shooting I'd hate to be on the business end of that b****
What call do you use?
@260rips

You can’t really see too well in the scope footage the back drop here, but there is a thin row of trees and a stream where this fox is stood, directly behind this is a rising field so completely safe and quarry had been positively Id with thermal and nv prior to the shot. I spent a little while zooming the scope in and out etc trying to get a better picture for the video on this one during which time I could see it well enough to see it was a fox (image is a fair bit better through the scope too!) 👍
Some weird audio in this video ...got music in one ear and dialogue in another!
