Hi Simon, Could you tell me why some shooters take out Hares ? As a shooter myself I don’t understand it, they don’t do the damage rabbits do and they bred very slowly in comparison. Ps I got some Sierra 69 grains and my Anschultz loves them with RS40 2830 fps. Haven’t matched your 100m groups yet though. Keep up the good work protecting those moorland birds 👍🏻
@simon6ppc246
11 ай бұрын
Ye pal over here hares are still classed as game and can legally be shot in the day at the right time of year i am 99% mind ya as the law changes that much but i just don't shoot them personally as i used to watch them as a boy when there just wasn't as many about and have always enjoyed seeing them, in my next vid on soon Hartley my mate is literally 10 feet off me in the day and just knows i am no threat to him.

Two things I noticed straight off in your video as a farmer standing on wrapped bales is a no no and walking past a sheep with it head through fence if it’s stuck or not you would have thought you might have knocked it back . But otherwise good video’s
@simon6ppc246
11 ай бұрын
I will say this on a positive comment, as soon as i put the camera off i went to the sheep and it backed away with its head nice and free, also i have shot off round bales for years and never ripped one but if i had i would tape up the patch with the tape the farmers use if they ever rip a bale so no harm at all done my friend. but i understand that some folk have to find fault or look on the negative side of life.,

Lol... not sure we're thinking the same thing here, so I'll clarify. Have you ever seen the film, 'Predator'? If not, then go have a listen to the sound the 'Predator' makes. It's uncanny timing, same noise and just at the time of the kill! I'd be checking behind the bales next time.
I think im not the only mug out doing this Simon when I watch your videos. I have a heap of newborn lambs here. Watching a ewe try mother a fox killed lamb gets me out with the Sako. Im getting more settled with the night vision scope and thermal. Put a big dog fox down behind the ear in the long grass of my lambing paddock other night. Cleaning up a few. Thanks for your video nice to see a different season in another part of the world.

@simon6ppc246

@simon6ppc246
11 ай бұрын
I will say this on a positive comment, as soon as i put the camera off i went to the sheep and it backed away with its head nice and free, also i have shot off round bales for years and never ripped one but if i had i would tape up the patch with the tape the farmers use if they ever rip a bale so no harm at all done my friend. but i understand that some folk have to find fault or look on the negative side of life.,
Surprised you didn’t help the ewe get her head out the fence!
