    So my wife kept watching me struggle with my 12 inch sliding miter saw. She found one of these at a yard sale for 30 bucks. She said the guy who sold it to her kinda laughed about it. But when she brought it home i was so happy with it. I made all of our cabinet door frames and face frames with it. It was all out of alignment when i got it but i watched a video lined it all up including the laser and bought a new 60 tooth blade and it was outstanding. Its the size of a lunch box so really easy to bring in and out of the house and takes up no room.

    I was really surprised how much cutting power (and torque) this saw had out of the box. I've used other (10" saws) previously and was pretty surprised with the speed and cutting ability of this Dewalt saw.I have bolted mine to a table to minimize movement which I highly recommend.This is a Great saw kzread.infoUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe with a light to see your cutting line (not a laser line).I'd recommend this saw fro anyone looking to upgrade from a 10" miter saw.

    Thanks, just what I need for my small DIY projects. My Dewalt 12", which I keep in climate controlled environment, is just too heavy to lug out for 1 or 2 cuts. This I can leave in the garage all year round

    Do you think this saw would be a good option for cutting luxury vinyl planks if you don't want to make a ton of manual cuts?

    I have a 10" miter saw that was borrowed and never returned. It was left in the rain so now I'm looking to get a 7 1/2 blade to share the circular saw.

    Just yesterday i had to resort to a miterbox to do the trim in a small bath bc i couldn't set up my 70lb 12-inch slider with a stand-in an occupied home. So im really considering this little guy.

    I'm wondering why nobody mentions that the motor interferes with a cut while holding it on the right side. You are forced to used the clamp. Time is money and that's too much money.

    Use a good "finish cut" blade, make a zero clearance insert (to avoid tear out), and take gentle cuts to avoid over heating. Miter saws are great for flooring if you do this. (I partnered in a flooring business years ago) I just snagged one of these from GoodWill for $20 this morning. About to tear it apart for clean up, oiling, make sure everything is squared up, and make a zero clearance insert.

    I have the same Dewalt you had, and I'm thinking of switching to this- is it quieter than the Dewalt? If so, how much quieter would you say? This would help me a lot! Thank you..

  • @swatisquantum

    @swatisquantum

    Amanda Adelmann definitely quiet .. the RPM is a bit slower than the Dewalt. I never took this thing seriously until I got one lol..but the fact that I pick it up and move it around like it’s a laptop, totally reinvents what a miter saw can do. Portability /wireless is the future. Look at how you use your cellphone vs desktop computers vs laptops. Smaller is better.

    If you get a steel blade… yes. I have a Walmart Hart 7 1/4 that I use for cutting steel. Just change the blade that came with whatever brand saw you have to a steel blade, and you’ll be fine!

    Check to see if the saw motor housing is hitting the fence, you may need to loosen the fence and slide it over a bit (refer to instruction manual).
