We hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day enjoying freedoms shared with family and loved ones because of the ultimate sacrifice made by so many. #remembertheirsacrifice
Our trip back in time continued this week as we got to check out many more locations in Pensacola which had history for both of us! If you missed Part 1 where we got to see the Blue Angels for the first time, you can check it out here: • WE'LL TRY AGAIN NEXT Y...
One of our FOS Crew Members recommended that we stop at Delicious Donuts while in town, and it was unlike any donut shop we have been to before. You choose your donut and then your filling, and they fill them right there for you!
We took our donuts to Pensacola Lighthouse and Maritime Museum and enjoyed a picnic before exploring the museum and then climbing the 177 stairs to the top! You can see the Blue Angels air field, Fort Pickens and Mobile, Alabama from up there! It reminded us of some of the other lighthouses we have gotten to climb over the years!
The next stop was only about 2 miles across the water but over an hour drive to get to Pensacola Beach and then down the island to Fort Pickens. This is by far the biggest and coolest fort we have ever visited and explored. TIP: Try to visit when the office is open, so you can get a map and know what all the numbers mean!
The plan was to get sandwiches for #sunsetandsandwiches but the traffic was horrible. We made it to Pensacola Beach just time time for the sun to set and to visit the site where Jess’ parents were engaged. Our time there was very close to the 10th anniversary of losing Jess’ dad, so it was very special to visit for the first time since she was a baby.
Pensacola holds history for Corey as well! He attended A School in the Navy there 25 years ago. He was able to show the girls where he lived, went to school and hung out during that time.
There is only about a year of time since we were 15 that we have been apart and neither one of us or the girls have seen where the other was durning that period of time. This season, we will continue to visit those places and share new things with each other!
Stay tuned for next week as we head to visit friends in Missouri, and Jess finds something she has been dreaming about for 24 years! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!

You just went through the tenth anniversary for your dad passing away. The last day of June will be the tenth anniversary of my wife passing away!! We were married for forty seven and one half years plus two days. She died of brain cancer! From the first day we knew something was wrong to the day she died, it was three months!! This is a very somber time for me!! I plan on inviting four of her closest friends to go out for dinner with me and we can remember her together. Separately from that, I plan taking our children and grand children out for a very special dinner together. I know I cannot live in the past, but I can (and should) commemorate the closest and most meaningful relationship I have ever known!! This has been a real heart breaker for me!!!
Layla gets the fashion award for today. 🎉 She looked so stunning!

Thank you so much. My daddy was a Navy pilot during the last year or two of WWII. Brought tears to my eyes.

We are so grateful to your father and for his service! It was such a powerful few days in Pensacola! Thank you for joining us tonight!
Thanks for the tour! I went to Corry Field myself back in 1966. My wife went with me and we were there 13 months going to R Branch School. I remember the buildings that you shown and the building where the headquarters, etc was and the hanger where I went to morse school. My wife and I wee married about a year when there and it was a tough school for me but I was a lucky man to have my wife with me. We went to Ft Pickenns also. Such a great memory, 56 years ago. Thanks for going down memory lane. My wife passed away 5 1/2 yrs ago, I wish she was here to revisit that place. Thanks again.
The aviation museum was so awesome, I couldn’t believe how much my hometown of Long Island NY played in military aviation, I,loved it 😊👍🏻🇺🇸
Jess - I hear your heart about your Daddy. My Daddy was in the Navy 1941-1971. My sister and I were both born at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola. We left when I was 2. I went back the year after my Dad died in 85. Now I want to go back again. The museum and fort look amazing!
I am so so glad you guys finally made it to Pensacola. It is such a special place to us too. We just arrived in Colorado to move after going to Bible school, meeting, marrying, and starting our family there in Pensacola. I'm so so sad to leave the beach, friends, church, etc. But God has a plan for us here now. I know 100% we will be back as often as we can. Thank you for this video. It came at a perfect time as I'm missing our old home.
First thank you for your service. We love your show and you're so blessed with such a beautiful family. I can't believe that your daughters look like they actually enjoy traveling with you guys and exploring things with you. Keep up the good work and be blessed. Thanks
Looks amazing. The museum at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio, is also a wonderful experience and also free.

Wright Patterson National Air Force Museum is a great FREE visit. Then a couple hours to Hocking Hills.
Geronimo was held captive for 2 years at Fort Pickens. BE SAFE OUT THERE! Enjoyed the video very much. Close to home. Was in Pcola this morning 5/29
My sis lives a few miles north of there as her husband retired from the Navy as aircraft frame repair. I've got to go there now that I've left my F.O.E. Board of Trustees position (12 yrs). My brother and I want to do the motorcycle traveling that Covid put a halt to, along with, I couldn't bail on my Trustee position as NOBODY would step up to do it. So much to see and do as you guys have opened my eyes to the U.S.
The top of the lighthouse reminds me of the scene in the original Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory ! Wow
I think y'all would enjoy exploring Fort Clinch near Jacksonville Florida. It's a state park with some campgrounds. The fort is in the best condition out of all the old forts.

Thanks! We will definitely have to check that out next time we’re in St Augustine!
The NPS app has lots of great info on all its parks. They include self guided walking and driving tours that you can use online or download and use offline. Do this for every park you visit!!! They’ve cut back on many ranger led tours since Covid and went this route. We just visited 11 parks in past 2 months and each has signage encouraging you to use their app. Free. All the rooms you entered in the fort have a stop on the walking tour with info. And you don’t need to be at the location to read the info. We also did some gps based audio driving tours at some parks.
I rarely posting anything, but this time i will. I lost my wife to cancer 6/1, just a few days ago. We had a big exciting trip planned in May, but her health deteriorated rapidly and we couldn't go. I missed my someday by a month and I am going to mention your story and what i missed at her memorial Tuesday. I look forward to following your adventures. Thank you.
I’ve been to Pensacola MANY times. I used to go every year, and it’s a 13 hour drive from Arkansas. I have photos of my son at the museum when he was two years old.. He is now 22, and when we went last year they were only allowing military in the museum. I wasn’t too happy about that. I’ve been to Fort Barrancas, but haven’t done Fort Pickens. Definitely the best beaches I’ve been to. I’ll probably go back next year. Love your videos!! Looking forward to when the next store opens.

So glad that you have had the opportunity to see it so many times! Must have been something special for the military the day you guys went back. We were blown away by the ceremony we were able to witness. We need to go back and spend way more time exploring the museum. Hope you are able to get back next year! Thanks for joining us tonight! And the store will be open again this fall!
Yall got me missing home so much with beaches. My home was Ft. Myers up until 4 years ago. I miss the salty air and my friends back home more than i ever thought possible. Ya'll made me cry a lil bit.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to NAS Pensacola. Can’t believe Lilly did not approve of the donuts 😅. Next time go east towards Navarre Beach and see the less crowded National Seashore Beaches. You can walk right up to a real Blue Angels jet at an airshow.
So cool that you got to be there for the National Anthem and Color Guard!
Losing family is always hard but thank you for being real, open, and honest. I really appreciate that about your family and the videos you produce.
Another great video! Thanks for taking us along!!
I live behind Corry Station and thoroughly enjoyed your video. I love that you highlighted some of the best parts of pensacola!
Coooooool video. Thank you. Blessings
That fort is so cool. The batteries in San Francisco Bay are pretty cool also.
Love this video guys! I love the way you share your life and your memories as you visit places. It was also special because our last trip of the year will be to Ft. Pickens to watch the Blue Angels last show! We have a camp site at Ft Pickens campground so will be able to see the show from our campsite! May have to add a day to visit Pensacola now!! You have a great channel and a great family. Keep it up!
Another good one!
I’ve never been there but Fort Henry in Kingston, Ontario is pretty epic and they do a sunset reenactment all summer long at sundown. ALso Quebec City is pretty much a whole fort as well. If you’re ever in these regions I highly recommend.
Thank you for sharing your special memories of Pensacola Beach, and all of the history!
Your donut segments make my mouth water🤤. We used to pick up fresh donuts nearly every weekend when the kids were growing up.
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Loved this video! Been to all the places, except the lighthouse, that ya'll saw. The museum is our absolute favorite. Thank you for your service Cory. Safe travels.
Fort Jefferson Dry Tortugas!! (off Keywest) Not big BUT Cool.
Thanks for the video. We will be heading Friday to the Florida Panhandle. We will be moving their soon. Look forward to seeing some of these sites.
Love the video style and editing of yalls videos. Safe travels!

“Lady Jessie” is an apt name! Great video, as always, and the talk at the end was touching and thank you for highlighting the importance of teaching our children their family history and roots. I know we don’t do it hardly enough with our kids. Pensacola looks like a great place to visit now that the Nickerson’s have “taken us” there!
It’s so important to share our family history with our children! I know ow that you’ve done this. And hugs to you Jess on the 10 year mark of losing your Dad. Those things don’t get easier. As to the rest of the episode I love seeing places I’ve visited with my family! We felt the same way at the top of the lighthouse…do not look down but it was a beautiful view! Pensacola holds a special place in my ❤ as well. My brother was born there and now my parents live there. My Dad is retired Navy. Also at Fort Pickens the National Park Service app has a walking tour for it…it’s in the Gulf Islands National Seashore park in the app. That’s what we used when we toured there. As to a bigger fort…San Juan National Historic Site and their forts in Puerto Rico are huge and so fun to explore. I explored those with a friend. 😊
Dan-D-Donuts & Deli panama city Florida Apple fritter is my favorite.
Throughly enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing.
Outstanding video. Thanks for sharing your family memories and experiences. We used to live near NAS Pensacola and watched the Blue Angels practice literally over our house; I believe it was every Tuesday around 0830. If you drive back through Shreveport try Southern Maid Donuts. Safe Travels!
I have been to many beaches but Pensacola beach is my favorite. There is so much to see and do there.
Spent many times camping in Ft.Pickens, Class A or Sailboat on the ICW. It's always been good. Joe Patti, have eaten here for 40 years, power boat camped on the sound, have seveeral girlfriends that live in P'Cola. Can't beat the place or the surrounding beaches.
Really cool guys. So much to see with amazing history. Thank You.
Awesome video! The young fella 10 swirls up the lighthouse steps.....too funny. Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt and touching moment of celebrating your dad, Jess. You have an amazing family. Thank you to all of our service men and woman!
Thank you so much for showing us this! My son is in A school there for rescue swimmer/sub hunter. He is an Airman Apprentice and they are in search and rescue training right now. This made me feel a little closer to him just getting to see his surroundings and the places you went that he's showed me his pictures of too. Love this!
Happy Wednesday folks 😊. Been a faithful subscriber since day # 1 ❤. OMG the lighthouse tour , at first glance I thought that guy was real sitting on the bed when the girls were hugging 😂. You should consider changing your title to Finding Our Donuts Someday 🍩 😂 ! Love you guys. Be safe ! 🙏
Cool video! Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is the second tallest brick lighthouse in the nation at 175’. I went up it this past December. The tallest brick lighthouse is in North Carolina. Fort Clinch on Amelia Island north of Jacksonville is a must see. Pensacola is a beautiful and historic city as is St. Augustine.
Lived in Gulf Breeze for 3 years when i was in grade school over 43 years ago, a we always went to Pensacola Beach abr Fort Pickens often. Your videos brought back so many memories!!! And I hate to tell you but I know from the hurricane I experienced when I lived there many sand dunes have been destroyed and they try to rebuild them afterwards, so the dune you were behind probably wasn't there many years ago.
We just visited Dry Tortugas NP 70 miles west of Key West. Fort Jefferson. Very similar to this. And it didn’t cost you $410 for 2 people for the ferry.
This was so cool! Our nephew just completed his first phase of air crew training and had his graduation ceremony at the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola on May 16th. He's also been volunteering at the museum for the last 6 - 9 months while he was awaiting his placement in A school. It was exciting to get a quick video tour of the museum since we've only seen pictures his mom and dad have shared with us. We tried to see if we'd get a glimpse of him in your video, but didn't see him. Thanks for sharing!! And thank you for your service!
Y’all need to go to Fort Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain, New York. It’s about twice the size of Fort Pickens. I think I saw Fort Pickens is like 900 just over 900 acres. For Ticonderoga is over 2000.
Thank you for sharing your adventures. This inspires me to visit these locations. I have been following you for 3 years now and watching the girls grow. Love you guys.
Thank you for sharing!

Looks so inviting to the museum. This had me to look up an historical church where we attended a wedding many years ago. I found it! The Old Christ Church near Main St and the bridge you crossed to go to Ft Pickens.
My t shirt arrived and I LOVE it!!! I got the aqua Vneck for ladies.... I''ll be wearing it at work this summer! Gray Laundromat and Beaches Tanning, in Gray, Maine!!! I hope to run into you all next time!! Jess and Layla were wonderful last year around Mother's Day when I bumped into you at the Windham WalMart!!
Barnegat Light in New Jersey is 217 steps. It is located on Long Beach Island. Beautiful area but you got to go through NJ to see it. I live there, by the light house. Visit in the fall and you will survive.
Great Vidieo guys ! Sorry for your loss . I see yo got a new mic Cory they work great I got the mic 2 for the guys at church to use . A hand held isn’t innnn . But to hold one of them little ones is I guess . And I Heard the canon word again ! Lol
Y'all were in our neck of the woods. You needed a whole day for the fort and just enjoy the beach right there in the park. Then another day for the museum and lighthouse. I hope you stopped at the USS Alabama nearby in Mobile.
Cool video guys!

Thank you all for sharing so much of this and the personal stories to go along with it. You are honestly amazing. We start our journey this Dec. can not wait to.

We stayed at Fort Pickens campground , the FORT wasn't open when we were there.

Very cool. My wife and I just finished our two month camping trip and on our way home to MA. We found in Dayton Ohio the Air Force museum. We will check the Navy one out next time in FL.
Excellent episode. I wish they named a base after me, dang it. The tours were great. Thank you for bringing us along. I do not like traffic, at all. lol
My daughter brought me a Blues TShirt from there last Fall. They had a Memorial Service there for her husband’s Grandparent

Loved the Pcola tour. We were there before seeing you in Ocala. We also did the Aviation Museum (my dad soloed there in the late '30s). We also camped at Fort Pickens. Next time, we're doing the Lighthouse!!
The lighthouse was way high whoa...........wait Iwas there...fort Pickens cannon ! Whoa the effect of looking down makes me think twice yhe structure is amazing..This is the way to see base ! ❤😊
Fort was a station during ww2 and us as a mine sweeper station and mine were layed inthe chanel.
We were there in September of 2022. We had a great time. We stayed at the Fam Camp at Eglin AFB.
My husband had four years of Navy, then twenty in the Naval Reserves.
Fort Pulaski In Savannah Georgia is pretty amazing. Has tons of cannon ball holes still in the walls!
Beautiful video and story..thanks for sharing!!....if you ever find a Parlor Donut shop for some unique spin on donuts ..
Have you been to the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson in Ohio? It is just as amazing as Pcola….

We are watching this evening. We were just visiting the museum and lighthouse last Sunday 😁
Curious about what "A" School you went to in Pensacola? I was an "AT" and went to "A" School at NTC Millington, TN. I live in Mobile, AL the home of BB-60 Battleship Alabama. I went to Boot Camp in San Diego and then to Aviation Fundamentals in Norman, OK then on to "AT" school in Millington, TN and then reported to HS-7 Helicopter Squadron at NAS Norfolk, VA. I was a Kitty Cruiser and enlisted the day before I was 18 and separated 2 days before I was 21. That was the day Gus Grisson lost his Mercury Spacecraft "Liberty Bell" after landing on the second suborbital flight. I retired after three years without pay. LOL I was an AT2. Served aboard the USS Valley Forge and the USS Randolph. Enlistment was July 1958 to July 1961. I really enjoyed your video of the Lighthouse and the Museum. Usually make a coupe of trips to the Museum each year. Two weeks ago several of my flying buddies attended the showing of the new Blue Angels documentary at the IMAX theater in Pensacola. KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING!!
We went to Maine and Fort Knox was awesome.

Thank you for your service. My Dad was in the Navy during the Korean War on the USS Bryce Canyon.
I'm not sure when you were aboard USS Monterey (CG 60). I'm a plank owner of USS Normandy (CG 60) and was aboard from 1989 to 1993. I really do enjoy your videos and hope to travel to the places you've visited. I retire retire in Dec 2024, and then I'll be a full tune RV'er. Safe travels and hope to see you om the road someday.
If you're ever in Dayton Ohio, visit the US Air Force Museum, it's fantastic, and huge. Or, if your near the Dulles Airport area in DC, see the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum next to Dulles airport (way bigger than the national mall A&SM).
Fort Pickens is pretty cool, but I still like Dry Tortugas over all others. It must be the views!

You could not PAY me to go into those tiny tunnels! (Claustrophobic) Hey Layla, cute outfit! Loved those pants ❤
I think I remember you went to A School in Pensacola. Was it for photography? I was born in the base hospital too. My dad Lt commander Ralph Lewis ended his career as the head of the Atlantic Fleet Photo Devision. He retired in 1980 to Bath ME. my sister was a Navy photographer as well I think she went in the Navy in 1979 or 1980. It’s a small world.😀

If you liked this fort you should check out fort Pulaski on tybee island. Amazing history from multiple eras. From civil war to ccc time in the 30’s. Definitely listen to ranger talk in the courtyard!
The internet took up the spot where the elders used to sit.
My parents met and later married in Pensacola. Interesting and beautiful area. And…I can’t believe you don’t have some kind of strap on your cameras 😱 Soon of a photographer, here, who was insistent about straps - or a grip, at least… Regardless, I always look forward to your adventures. Thanks!
Sony lens geek again, look for the OSS lenses, I use a 28-70 that is great. Also G master(red G) lenses are the absolute best with some of the Sigma art ones as well. Also, in the video setup you should be able to enable the gyros for data encoding that your video editing can stabilize the footage better and not get the "breathing". Enjoy the content always look forward to the videos when they drop.
The Dry Tortugas fort is as big or bigger. Amazing history there.
And saw the blue angels
I attended the Naval School of Photography there back in 1980s
