    When we moved to a larger Class A and started our full-time journey in 2010, my wife insisted we have a washer-dryer. We have used that combo unit now for 14 years. The door hinge broke at about 4 years, I removed the door and repaired the hinge, still working fine. We had cats. We found that after 3-4 years the washer's dry cycle wouldn't work. On the internet, we found a particular set of instructions to follow that ran through 5 cycles, and with each cycle, it cleared more and more cat hair. (little puffs of hair came out through the holes in the drum). Good to go, 3-4 years later, run that cycle one more time, repeat. It is a very smart machine.

    We looked at Alliance. Considered a 5th wheel last year. Due to open heart surgery last June and the frame failure issues decided to keep our travel trailer 26 foot toy hauler (Torque T26). The higher ceilings and separate bedroom helps separate living space. Still 3-4 years out until retirement. Currently have a seasonal site and travel 3 to 4 times a summer. Best of luck with your travels and thank you for the videos.

    definitely a nice RV. Seems like you have experienced pretty much the "normal" kind of stuff that tends to go wrong, but for a year of full time living it would seem that it is holding up very well overall. We are more in the 80-100 night range per year, so certainly somewhat less wear and tear I guess. I see you got to enjoy Liberty RV Park in Newark. We spend several nights there a couple of years ago. It is all about location, location, location :) Really enjoyed our stay there. Continued safe travels.

    For your bedroom windows, we had our local sign shop install a vinyl on the outside of our french doors. During the day we can see out but you can not see in. It also helps with the heat. It's like the stuff that people put on the back window of pick up truck with some kind of wildlife scene. The stuff we used comes in different colors, and from the outside, it is hardly noticeable.

    I thought this was an excellent video, fair, unbiased and all that jazz. I started following you because you were in a campervan which is the only place I want to be. If I/we were younger, the travel trailer, 5th wheel thing might be of interest, yet I/we still follow because I always learn something. I still have an interest in a business with a much younger partner( thank god) and he just bought a fifth wheel. He has had several RV's. I hope he has subscribed and follows you. He has no fear, loves to tinker and upgrade his electrical and n am gonna love it when he hits the road on a more regular basis. He has been rv''ng awhile, Anyway, you have a beautiful rig, well thought out. I like it when people know what they want.

    Good video. We have an Alliance Avenue 32RLS and we love it. One thing on the window size...the window behind the couch is that height due to the height of the couch. The other window drops lower because there's a table there, so it gets a bigger/lower window. With the couch sitting higher, there's really no benefit of a lower window, plus the couch could damage the window as it bounces down the road. Ya'll have a nice rig and 3 AC on a rig that length is a big bonus. Thanks for sharing.

  • @IreneIronTravels

    @IreneIronTravels

    11 күн бұрын

    Hello, thanks for watching! Glad to hear you're loving your 32rls! I do have to disagree on the windows though. We uniquely have the 3 person couch so the one cushion is mostly in the bigger window and the rest is in the smaller window. For example, If I'm standing in front of the couch looking out at our patio I can see about 1 foot of our camping mat (currently) out the smaller window. But where the couch hits the bigger window I can see 4-5 feet of rug. So it's easier to watch your dogs or kids playing outside or just enjoy a bigger view. Trust me if you walked into the 2 units back to back you would notice a big difference! But, I totally get why they do it with the loveseat that is always in front of the window. You're right, you do have to be careful with closing and opening the shade behind the couch. But no issues with us after a year and about 12k miles. 👍 Thanks again!

    You were talking about the shades in the living area/ kitchen having a gap between the shades snd the wall. But I was noticing in the bedroom they took the time to add pieces of trim to solve that same issue. I don't know if it was just over looked or what happened there. If you had a nail gun and some trim it could possibly be fixed or I would make them fix it if it was something you just don't want to deal with.

  • @IreneIronTravels

    Yes, I should have elaborated on that. By design they left the side window valances off the down stairs to make the windows feel bigger and open. (which we like) We actually removed our window valances on our last RV. But the brand of night shades would lay flat and not curl up like these ones.

    I found your YT after Googlin about Rams 3500 duallys and hauling. Come to find out that you both went through the same situation with a F350 Tremor that I am going through currently. I recently bought a 5th wheel thought the numbers worked out, but I just feel I am all over the road with my Tremor. Have drove my my camper over 5k miles but the longer i wait the worse it seems to be. I have been looking at getting a dually just wasnt sure between Ford or Ram. Doing research and even watching a few videos from you guys I feel like moving to a dually is the right choice. I even think I am leaning towards Ram as the Ford duallys look horrible. Thanks for the videos it was a wealth of knowledge. And wish me luck in finding my new dually before my next trip lol.

  • @IreneIronTravels

    @IreneIronTravels

    Hello! Yes, this is a tough decision and lots to weigh on. For us a dually just made sense as we tow about 17k lbs full-time around the country 10k-15k miles each year. And since it's our daily driver we really wanted to go as short as possible. Have you considered a SRW 1ton long bed? Some of the newer ones have payloads from 4k-4500k lbs and would probably tow a lot better than the 35'' inch tires and softer suspension of the Tremors. Just a thought...good luck!

    We full time in a 40’ class A. Love everything about our rig, but I do have kitchen envy. 😊 Your kitchen workspace is awesome, as well as your storage. I just had our double bowl sink changed to a single bowl workstation style, gained a little counter space and great functionality! It’s all about choices, but at the end of the day- we’re all enjoying full time RV life!!! We have separate washer and dryer, but did have the combo at one time. They do get a bad rap. There are tricks to using it correctly and getting great results. I wouldn’t mind having one again.

    Can you please answer two questions for me related to your class B experience? Where do I find your first video on your class B? Did you ever need AWD in your class B?

    Hello! Yes you can just go to our KZread channel page and scroll down to see all of our playlists... including some on the van www.youtube.com/@IreneIronTravels We never needed AWD, but we did put all terrain tires on because we knew we would do a lot of boondocking. We avoid snow/cold and spent alot of time out West in the dryer states. It would be a nice to have but not a need to have for us. Unless you plan on spending a lot of time off road. Ground clearance is a big issue in vans as well....

    Nicely done video. I do have one question however when you say you partnered with a particular company, does that mean that their products were given to you at no cost?

    Just out of curiosity, what is your total bumper to bumper length hitched up? We have a full size Rockwood 2622RK with a rack and hitched up its 52 feet. With the rack folded up, a little over 50 feet. Great overview and looking forward to the followup on the solar installation.

    I think we are around 49-50 feet. I haven't done an actual tape though. The tuck is 20.8 feet and the RV is 33''3' from pin to bumper.

    Just curious, and I know yours is a shorter 5th wheel model, but have you experienced any of the "Frame Flex" issues that seems to be a big issue? I love the fact that Alliance worked with you on the interior changes, especially the rear desk.

    Ours is actually made by Alliance RV and not grand design RV. But we haven’t had symptoms or signs of frame flex. I do believe it does help to have a shorter 5th wheel, no matter the manufacturer.

    Hello! Our new stove in the 5th wheel doesn't have a cover on it. Are you referring to our last RV the travel trailer? That stove had a flip up/down cover that came with it from the manufacture.
