Looks brilliant, The colours you chose for the interior, are spot on. The xp has turned out really, really nice. I understand that you have to let her go … it’s the only way to fund the next project. Someone is going to cruise for miles with a big smile

Thanks for the awesome comment Jas! Absolutely they are, rarer by the day these old girls are getting, well, all of the cars from this Era as you know, plenty of more builds coming, and a very very rare car we just bought to restore coming soon! Glad I can help you in any way mate, even if it's just entertainment 😉 👍 cheers 🍻

Hi mate. Loving this series on the XP. I’m doing a resto on a CM Valiant so I’m really keen to see what you do with yours, and also how you tackle the rust (if it’s got any) and panel work. Keep up the great content mate - it’s a amazing resource for us DIY guys trying to work out how to do this stuff

Working through the body work atm. Taking panels off and getting the rust out and finding more! I’m trying to do as much of it with my mate and myself as possible but some of the bigger bodywork bits I have to get other guys to do. My aim was to get it done in a couple of years (only get to work on it some weekends and after work during the week) and got to do it on a budget too. But the challenge of that is the good part I reckon 👍🏻

@@Lindsay-ed2uj ahh yeah ok, yeah sucks when you remove stuff to only find more rust! best to get it all out though while you are going.. keep at it mate, more you do, the more you learn! im thinking of making a membership option on my youtube, ill post a beginners restoration course, rust repairs and basic metal shaping will be all part of it, plus a chat room that any member can ask for advice at any time, might be right down your alley? more details to come but in the meantime , keep at it mate, i would love to see pics!

@Lindsay-ed2uj great! Yeah in the memberships section I'll be going in full details on all specific things, otherwise my normal videos will be like 3 hrs long haha.. it was a felt style pad, I got from my paint shop, there are other things you can use too, the membership option is probably about 3 weeks away from being ready. But will have heaps of tips, but all the detailed information 🤙

When you were speaking of the chrome you just reminded me of something that I heard about, that could actually work . small areas only , silver / chrome nail polish. Sets hard can be cleared over polished etc. All chrome paint is rubbish

Now,I do have another XM ute, really good starting point, rust free, I'm either going to sell it as is, or do a restoration on it too, looking for a project?? Haha

My first falcon (XL) I covered the dash with black fur (this was the days of Custom Vans and Trucks magazine, so forgive me) and sprayed the roof vinyl black, which took the spray really well! So if you spray the roof lining it shouldn't be an issue. Your interior looks just fantastic, hope it has bought you some real pleasure seeing the results mate.
